Service polite but very slow - one and a half hours for olives and breads and two fish pies one of which was only luke warm. Pleasant restaurant.
Excellent food and service. Would definitely recommend The Unicorn's Head - cosy with open fires and an eclectic menu, easy to find and ample parking.
Fantastic carvery, great selection of meats, veggies etc and as little or as much as one wanted. Attentive staff even tho very busy. Sweet selection coudnt have been better all in all great experience at very reasonable cost. Our friends thought I had made a good choice and all agreed we will be back.
Great food, good choice of starters and a variety of mains - couldn’t fit in a dessert! Service a little slow by waitress staff but they were busy!
Sunday Carvery delicious as were the fish and chips and desserts ! Very cosy and friendly and lovely atmosphere !! Service was excellent too - will definitely return !
We had a great Sunday lunch today. The food was amazing and is great quality. The staff were friendly and welcoming. This was perfect place for a family meal.
Food was delicious...we really enjoyed the evening however we waited longer than we should have to get the bill and even longer to pay. The restaurant wasn't busy either so more attention to customers is needed to get top marks.
Booked and had a table confirmed in the restaurant. Placed at a table in the bar by a surly young lady. Asked if could move as it was very cold and it was by a door that was used as an entrance- said no initially but then moved us to main restaurant. This too was cold. Food average - has been much better, some service good some staff obviously not interested. Not up to usual standard and will give it a miss now.
We has an amazing lunch, we don't go out often as we have a 4 month old baby and a 5 year old but it was our 1st wedding anniversary so we wanted to try and do something. The food was amazing and staff really helpful with our children. We will be back 😃
Food was good. Service was somewhat lacking. They also forgot to bring our deserts yet added them onto the bill (this was removed when asked). I think we would try again but will try other places first.
Family of 5 dining early evening. Excellent menu choices, good quality food, nice atmosphere and good, friendly service. We are sure to return soon :-)
It was my second visit and the services was shocking, the staff where sat around the bar with either with there friends or other staff swearing, throwing things from the kitchen to waitresses, when there was a 30 minute wait for dessert they apologised and said the chef was in the shed ? Food was good but it felt like we where having dinner in a playground.
Very nice attentive staff, quality food and drink, very good value for money. Would highly recommend to anyone, very nicely refurbished pubic house, first class thank you 😊
Sunday Carvery 29th October. Despite being 2 Chefs down therefore only being allowed starters from the main menu the Carvery was very plentiful, there was a good selection of Meats and a generous selection of veg and lots of it,all the food was hot and Beth with her waiting staff kept an organised and steady flow of customers through the Carvery , service was very good and welcoming. Well done to the Unicorns Head
Lovely meal with very friendly service in a freshly renovated restaurant area. Recommend the hanging kebabs with generous amounts of meat. Will be going back.
Food was just 'ok'. Ambience very nice. Staff very pleasant except for one older lady who seems to have an attitude for some reason ?.
Lovely staff, always smiling and helpful. Lovely food with an extensive menu which should please the pickiest of eaters. Massive portion sizes - go hungry!
Food was not hot enough and beef tasted good small piece I had but too rare for taste, vegetables and roast potatoes Yorkshire puddings were passed their best . Music was too loud canned music unnecessary. Had heard good reports of restaurant but felt disappointed. However we accept that 5pm is perhaps late to have a roast.
Perfect meal on Steak night with complimentary bottle of Merlot Wine which was very good indeed. Steaks cooked to perfection very enjoyable, in a lovely atmosphere staff very efficient and friendly decor excellent recently refurbished.
Welcoming staff who provide quick service. The food was excellent and well presented. A Little noisy on a Friday evening with many families eating out but it's a sign of how popular it is.
Lovely food and friendly service. This was our first visit and we will definitely be going back. Excellent children’s menu and the carvery was delicious.
Welcoming atmosphere, and some unusual beers on tap that change regularly. Busy Sunday lunchtime; the staff worked hard and with smiles and friendly chat. Food was excellent standard and plentiful. Great value for money.
Excellent service and good food. Very warm and inviting atmosphere. They even have a bouncy castle for the children. My steak wasn’t cooked enough for me but they took it back and redid it even though I ask for it rare. Would definitely go back.
Fantastic carvery. Heavenly desserts.....generous portions so make sure you leave room! Excellent value for money too. You can be sure of a warm welcome from attentive staff. Would advise that you book as this pub is VERY popular.
The pie was excellent but drowning the plate in gravy was a bad idea. Better to serve gravy in a jug. More peas and less gravy,
Excellent food and very helpful staff. All the food was freshly prepared and nicely cooked. Even though they were really busy there were plenty of staff and very helpful.
Very good value. Food excellent. Nice decor and pleasant ambience. Will certainly visit again.Staff efficient and courteous Set in a sleepy Stilton producing village.Sweets interesting and well presented
Lovely food. Lovely interior. Clean. But Poor service- had to wait a little while to be seated (which was expected as Sunday lunch time-bit could see cleared tables couldn't understand what we were waiting for) The waiting staff didn't know what was on the menu. Took their time taking orders, nor coming to the table to clear away/ask if we would like more drinks etc... nor did they seem to want to work.
We had a lovely meal, staff were attentive and friendly. The sticky toffee pudding was bloomin gorgeous! Our first time, and we will definitely be returning.
