Good service, lovely staff, great food especially good white bait. Good burgers/Pork belly with crisp crackling. Good choice of wines, lovely fruity D' Avolo red wine went down well.
Overall a lovely dinner. Will def go again. Great cuts of meat, good service, staff extremely friendly and courteous. The noise from the lounge sports wise was the only issue.
Fish and chips very tasty. Very good service, just the right level, not too in your face but still friendly and attentive, and great location.
Food was very tasty, service was excellent and friendly. I had a large table of 11 for a graduation celebration and we all got served our food within moments of each other, everyone's meal looked great.
We have bene At the Trafalgar many Times during the years, and it's still a very charming experience. Food is English, and good. Very short wine list with good choices. Great view, and a memorable day
The location and the view was stunning. The staff were so helpful and very attentive. We went for Sunday lunch and it was delicious. Although missed the Yorkshire pudding on the chicken roast (although I know it's not exactly traditional!)
The Trafalgar has a fine location, of which they perhaps don't make the best use. We were there 49 years ago for our first wedding anniversary and it was a wonderful experience. This week we were there close to our Golden Wedding and it was adequate- if pricey- but really just a posh pub lunch. You'd never know that Gladstone and Dickens dined there.
Friendly staff lovely atmosphere great food and wine ... Excellent view! the staff were very accommodating and attentive. The only downside is the not all roasts came with Yorkshire puddings
A lovely riverside pub, which is perfect for a quiet and romantic dinner. I would definitely dine at this pub again. Thank you for a great meal.
Lovely dining area and nice outlook. Food was lovely and substantial. Went for crab starter and sausage and mash dinner. Little bit pricey but expected for area I'm guessing.
Kristof delivered outstanding service, he is extremely professional, courteous and made our culinary experience a pleasure. Exceptional views over the Thames and a delectable lunch!
Booked a table but this was not to our liking. Asked if we could change, despite the restaurant being largely empty, this was too difficult.
Beautiful position but food and service not as good as we have had in the past. Whitebait was good but mussels were not. This has not been our experience in the past
This was a return visit after many years away. The place was as good as I remembered. Excellent service and food. Especially the whitebait. Be sure to book in advance for Sunday lunch though.
Good food and setting, but service was not the best. The waiter did not know the menu enough to answer our questions and the waitress who brought out the food, just ignored us (she was in her own little world) when we requested some sauce.
As always a fantastic riverside view with huge Windows letting in the weekends sun. Really friendly staff and great selection of food from large filling Plates to smaller varied option. And what seems like never ending whitebait.
Firstly, they got our booking wrong but they sorted that our fairly quickly so we were happy. We all ordered at the same time, food took over an hour to arrive. Two dishes however didn't arrive with the others and we had to wait another half an hour. The pub was busy but it wasn't full by any means. Roast dinner was okay, meat was nice with good crackly on the pork, potatoes were terrible. I had the ribs, they were okay sauce was out of a bottle and a bit claggy. We were there for three hours and managed to have one course so we didn't bother having dessert.
Really terrible food and service. This is a stunning location but run by a bunch of ametures what have no idea what they are doing
Always a splendid time had here, fabulous staff, excellent food, our waitress Rebecca was particularly efficient in ensuring we had everything we needed. Very impressed.
Service was great (we were a party of 18 - many thanks to our waitress for her patience) Everything I had for dinner was good but those who ordered burgers were unhappy.
Normal pub grub menu, but we had the cottage pie which was very tasty. The 2 ladies had desserts - sticky treacle pudding was excellent and the lemon and pink grapefruit posset gorgeous. The waiter was attentive without being overbearing. But best of all was the view of the Thames and as one of our party was an ex-lighterman brought back many memories. Would certainly make a return visit.
Not cheap but you're paying for the riverside location. The food was ok although vegetarian choices are still limited. There's a good choice of beers and a slightly less good choice of ciders.
The service was slow and no one seemed to know anything. The food was ok but overpriced for the quality. Disappointment after being recommended the place and taking a table of 8 for Sunday roast.
Cold chicken and yesterday's roast potatoes at high prices. A shame as the location and venue are great. The views of the river are amazing.
The location is the best part of this place. The food, wine and service wasn't worth the price. It was Ordinary pub food at best.
Great food, excellent customer service and very comfortable relaxed surroundings - what more could you ask for? :-) Highly recommend the food, venue and location.
Superb location at the end of maritime Greenwich with stunning views over the Thames, cosy atmos and friendly helpful service. Pub grub food simple but OK.
Was really disappointed at the food and service from the tavern on this occasion. Having already pre-warned them of having a food allergy, the kitchen staff were awful and provided me with very little in the way of alternatives. The waiting staff were really helpful and apologetic but did not know anything about my allergies. When the good turned up, although the burger was nice, the roast potatoes (as alternative to the chips originally) were cold and dry. The meal also did not turn up with any of the salad listed on the menu and after asking, the kitchen staff eventually obliged me with a limp salad they then told me was "on the house"!! The meal was horrendously expensive and not worth it at all. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, regardless of allergies.
Excellent service, great food and an amazing view. Well worth visiting. The decor is suitably in keeping with the name and makes for an excellent evening in Greenwich.
Wonderful, friendly service and a convivial atmosphere. This place is at the top of my list for informal family get-togethers. I had a few dietary requirements and these were catered for with a minimum of fuss. Many thanks to the staff at The Trafalgar!
The menu offers relatively limited choices but there is a good mix of options. We all started with whitebait (always enough for two) and it's some of the best, cooked with just a light coating of flour so the fish is not overwhelmed. Three of us had fish and chips, one had the risotto, one the special steak and ale pie (puff pastry, alas for me who is a short crust fan, but our guest loved it) and my husband had the steak. Everyone commented on how good it all was. The wine list is adequate and we chose a bottle of surprisingly good South African Chenin Blanc for the fish and a glass or two of Malbec for the meat-eaters' second course. The service was very good as usual, friendly, helpful and efficient, but I would have been even happier had they somehow managed not to bring the second course while we were still finishing the first, and not to begin clearing the second course while one person was still eating. We go here two or three times a year - whenever we take visitors to Greenwich and sometimes even on our own - and will keep doing so.
We have to wait more than 1 hour to be seated, the manager in charge was careless about the cue of people at the door waiting to be served, no apologies or any good willing gesture from him, however, an amazing young waiter was looking after us ( he should be the manager)
Trafalgar Tavern. Nice atmosphere and less crowded than on the main street, pretty decent pub fare, perfectly good for a Saturday or Sunday lunch. Service was very attentive.
A great place that seeps history. Not sure that the service was as good as it should have been but the Whitebait and Fish and Chips were top notch and the beer well kept. Watch out for warm white wine!
Booked table and as requested window table with river views. food and wine superb and staff friendly. Becoming a regular of ours, be back soon.
Accommodating staff, unique scenery, comfortable settings, quaint decor, spotless upkeep, remarkable food quality and taste. Everything contributes to a particularly enjoyable time and meal. Highly recommended.
We took Italians there with a view to impressing them. i think we achieved that. The waterside location is sensational. The food is good and served piping hot. Members of staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed. Service is a little slow but it's obviously a very popular place.
Table 20 minutes late and the food took a while to come. This is a really busy place and especially so on a Sunday. When it arrived it was delicious as always. The service was impeccable though. Thanks Eraldo.
Although a lovely pub, our food took one hour to arrive from time of order, we then received 2 wrong order's and a 3rd order got completely missed which meant waiting a further 20 minutes for meal's to be corrected and to arrive. Food quality was not as good as in previous visits. Disappointing.
The service was excellent, and he food was good and the atmosphere was perfect. A really enjoyable experience! I've been before and will definitely be going back!
Nice pub with a view on the river. We shared a Roast chicken between 3people and there was plenty to eat. A friend chose the pork ribs and was impressed with the size of them. We sat in the pub area as we came early and our booked table in the restaurant wasn't available yet. But it was great.
Great food and service.. ran out of milk but did nip out and grab some for us... bar service however is usually shocking I recommend the restaurant...
Not enough staff , Not very good food , poor selection of dinners & pudding's for a place trying to attracted people on a Sunday ! Don't think I would go to the Traflagar again ! ,
Hap hazard service and staff. Food and drinks mediocre. Location perfect for the park
Very nice pub, lovely setting. The only down side was that 5 of our party of 6 wanted fish and chips and they'd run out - this was at 3.30pm on good Friday
Lovely service and great food. Asked for my salmon to be grilled not fried which wasn't a problem at all. Both companions left happy and full.
Our whole roast chicken (intended for 2 to 3 people) could have done with a few more roast potatoes. We had to place an extra order.
Online booking was easy; we were made very welcome by friendly staff; service was excellent and attentive; the Sunday roast was tasty, served hot and good value. This a lovely, relaxed restaurant by the Thames and deserves it's success.
Worth a visit for the history of the place , food good but a little expensive... Glad I made the visit but probably wouldn't return.
The bar man accidentally knocked a pint all over me, don't get me wrong he was apologetic but no offer to make this up was made, leaving me with a wool coat which stinks of beer.
