Lovely meal with a fantastic view of the river. Good service. The decor is in keeping with the period. I will definitively be returning to this gem by the river.
Lovely food. We go back quite frequently. It's a lovely spot on the river and the menu is varied. The service is really friendly if a little in formal.
My mum and I love the Tavern. The food is never a disappointment and the staff are just excellent. We came to the Trafalgar on Christmas Eve and I really felt looked after despite it being such a busy and special day for everything! I would thoroughly recommend this joint to anyone wanting a slice of good quality "London", with brilliant food, service and views! We will of course be back again very soon.
Not enough staff for a busy Sunday, probably need at least two more somewhere in the system...too long a wait for dessert......the food was good though
Has a historic atmosphere and great view of Thames. Staff were polite. Prosecco with afternoon tea was quite good. Afternoon tea was not the best in terms of quality but nor was it anything to complain about.
We were given a table with a great view of the river. Food was very good, arrived in a timely manner and was of a high standard. Service was a little hit and miss - we had to ask a few times for condiments, etc. But overall, a lovely lunch.
Great building in a wonderful place overlooking the Thames. Lovely interior with a calm and comfortable atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. The food however is disappointing, lacking flair and flavour- all a little over cooked. The local ales perfect but that was to be expected.
Afternoon Tea. Scones not cooked. Staff nice but not professional . Not a good experience. Will not be returning. Plus side great venue. Good views.
nice setting but the staff would not change food order (for a steak) 4 mins after ordering it - the food I didn't want arrived 1 hour 40 minutes later. had to ask for everything - drinks. lots of people walked out as food failed to arrive.
Average experience, took a while to be seated despite the dining room being mostly empty. We had to ask twice and it took twenty minutes. Food was nice and the service was good but it wasn't anything special. The noise from the bar and the dim lighting in the dining room was a little uncomfortable so we didn't stay for desserts.
Really good srvice and food on quite a busy day as the Tall Ship regatta was taking place on Easter Sunday. The view was great too. The only thing is that the roast dinners are on the expensive side but then you are paying to eat in a lovely historic pub on the river.
This is such an interesting and historic building in a superb location. The service was good. The food so so. It was heaving with Sunday lunch people and Christmas parties. Nice atmosphere.
Great service and very well met requests of a table with loads of space around for our party's 4 buggies. Good food, but could have been warmer when it came. Good selection of beers.
Beautiful ambience and pretty OK food. The service was fine too. No complaints. The whitebaits are a must try, deep friend but soft inside, they've been serving them here for a couple of centuries.
Lovely atmosphere on a frosty day! Was a little chilly towards the back of the restaurant but the service more than made up for it!
Positive 1st experience at The Trafalgar Tavern, re-visited recently for a friends birthday lunch. Nothing was too much trouble, staff very attentive, quick service, large Sunday roasts and lovely atmosphere with views out onto The Thames!
Excellent! warm and cosy, really looked after us, had a lovely time catching up with family. Food was good, not cheap but overall package was great!
Excellent food, came for Sunday roast. Desserts on the small side so expensive at seven pounds. Lovely view of the river, good service. Will come back.
Very good food from pub but high tea was stale and store bought food, by the time they served us the cakes and sandwiches were dried out. It's a fine pub with friendly staff! I'd go a gain but I'd be selective on what I order..
Great, we really loved the food and the table staff were great and really lovely. The restaurant manager, maybe if that was his role, was a little heavy handed and a little charmless with the other staff which seem more than a little harsh. The food was great though and the location is lovely
Great views of the river Thames but only average food and quite expensive. It was very busy when we were there and this was reflected by the relatively slow service.
Food Good. Staff mixed. Had to go and find a waitress and ask for our table to be cleared. Mens toilets paint word in very poor condition. Sink tap handle missing. One hand dryer not working. In other words a completely neglected area.
Excellent location overlooking the Thames. If you order by 11.45am you can have the brunch menu, which is good value and there are more vegetarian options. You place your order and pay at the bar. The only vegetarian option on the Sunday lunch menu is roasted vegetable and mushroom wellington. Not all vegetarians like mushrooms. We all went for the full English and I had the vegetarian option. Some of the items on the plate were cold when it arrived whilst others were piping hot, otherwise the food was fine. Large portion sizes. It's a popular place for brunch so there is a little wait for the food.
Great location. Nice pub. Service little lack lustre. Food better side of ok. Would go again but nothing special. Summertime beer garden worth hitting up
Lovely lunch with the family on a Saturday. Booked ahead and got a table overlooking the Thames. Mussels were delicious and great service. Would recommend.
There were 8 of us. Only 5 starters arrived. My daughters main course arrived with her starter so we sent it back. We asked them to check the main courses and they only had 5 in their system so we reordered causing a delay. The food was poor. Goats cheese tart all tart no cheese and tasted horrible. Lamb fillets were burnt and dry. pork belly was dry and crackling soggy, mash potato dry as if it had been out all night. Fish and chips was acceptable but hard to cock this up really. I will never go back!
The new menu was great, the staff were friendly and the views from dinner were amazing. I will definitely come back, I loved it here
Great food and drinks in a lovely atmosphere. Large traditional pub style restaurant in a nice riverside location with views through the large windows over to Canary Wharf.
The Trafalgar Tavern has a beautiful atmosphere, delicous food, a good range of drinks and very friendly and helpful staff! Thank you very much for the pleasant stay!
We arrived late, very near the end of service on a Sunday evening, but the staff did everything to settle us in; didn't hurry us; and brought us excellent food. The venue was pleasantly busy ~ which told me that it would be an enjoyable experience, and so it was.
Met for lunch and ate in the restaurant. Great location as by window overlooking the river, relaxing environment, friendly staff and great food. Would visit again.
Very disappointing - we waited for an hour for afternoon tea, and when it turned up the bread was quite stale and scones were very dry.
Lovely restaurant, great views from the tables and comfortable atmosphere. Food was a little slow to arrive and OK. We ordered the Sunday roasts which could have been better
Very nice pib with River view, staff a little clumsy not knowing really the menu but friendly. Food was good portion, good choice of roast, vegetarian, fish, chicken, lamb and beef you'll find your match
Very nice location overlooking the river and good lunchtime menu. We enjoyed the house speciality of whitebait as a starter with traditional roast Sunday lunch.
Booked this restaurant to celebrate the 1st Wedding Anniversary with the wife. Brilliant food (everything on the menu is absolutely delicious), reasonably priced menu options with room to have more premium options if you should desire, brilliantly attentive and friendly staff, and the restaurant is conveniently next to a warm and busy pub. Add in the beautiful views of the water, looking across to the millennium dome, and it was an ideal setting for a couple looking for a cosy break. Can not recommend enough!
Great food and attentive service. This is the third time I've been and it has never disappointed. It was reasonably busy on a Friday night but nowhere near busy enough for a place of its size. A busier atmosphere would help.
Still a nice meal but food did not seem to be of the usual excellent quality today - the quality of the meats on the roasts today not as good as usual excellent standards and for £18 a roast which is not cheap a little below par today. Staff friendly and attentive and ambience of the place still great though on a sunny day hard to beat.
Love everything about this place, location, views, food, staff! So much it's now my wedding venue! Had a roast on Sunday for lunch and it was lovely.
An excellent meal in an excellent venue. The service was good, we enjoyed the food and the wine. It has improved since our last visit.
It was ok. Not sure the 12% service charge was right but it was our anniversary and my wife enjoyed it even if it was all a bit slow.
A pub/restaurant with a nice atmosphere, and in a nice location. Excellent food, and very well priced. It was a very pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon with family.
Nice place, OK but variable food, pleasant service but slightly marred by the manager announcing after our mains that we would have to vacate our table in twenty minutes even though we had never been informed it was a one and a half hour slot and our desserts didn't actually arrive until after the slot ended. We were given a couple of vouchers to compensate however.
The location is awesome The service wasexcellent The cooking technique absolutely over the standard. In my very case probably the meat cut or ore-cool preparation was not the perfect one for the Sunday roast, that resulted in slices of meat unexpectedly too hard, not tender at all. They would have surely sort this incident out, after my report before leaving the venue.
The setting by the river is wonderful, the staff were helpful, the menu gave a great selection of choices, the only negative was that two roast lamb Sunday lunches were cold and had to be sent back but the matter was quickly rectified and two fresh lunches were served piping hot
An excellent birthday meal with friends and the staff brought out a cake too on a plate with 'happy birthday' written on it. Great food, good wine fantastic view. Highly recommended.
Very good service, with our food appearing much sooner than expected given that it was a busy Sunday afternoon and a lovely day. A nice Sunday roast in a great spot.
The food, the location & the service was all first class. Our table was by the window overlooking the Thames. A good time was had by our party of nine. Thank you
Felt we were being hurried..we had just finished main course when asked to order pud as kitchen closing. 9 pm on a Friday night? Feel we should have been made aware of this when we booked as our reservation was for 8pm.
Nice atmosphere, great food and friendly waiters. When I am back in London, I'll definitely have a meal there again. It's worth having lunch with such breathtaking views
