What a lovely old and indeed historical venue to enjoy a sumptuous meal. We had the Sunday Roast (beef) followed by the Trafalgar Mess for dessert. Very well presented and tasty. Good service.
Excellent food, excellent service and great location on the river
We ate at lunchtime in the restaurant rather than the pub bar. The service was attentive, the food well prepared and, as we had a window table, we had a river view. The bar and outside seating were busy so we were glad we had booked.
Good view, excellent roast dinner, great Trafalgar mess for dessert, shame about the 'English' cheese. (Not very good at all, frankly a bit disappointing. Good service.
Good food. The waiters very friendly. Excelent views and good atmosphere. Try the fish and ships!
Good service in restaurant. Food very tasty, recommend the pork belly.
Lovely location, right on the river, had a good view from where we were seated. Food good, generous portions and good choice. Prices ok for location. Service was a bit hit and miss, at first there was some confusion over where I we were to be seated because the manager (not sure but think he was) interferred with the seating, he assumed I hadn't booked but I had already told a waitress I had booked. Meals didn't all arrive at the same time, had to remind waitress re some items. Recommend booking as get very busy, ate there one Sat in July.
Food and service not bad but toilets very dirty. Sticky doors and very smelly. Absolutely revolting. Gave a second and last chance today. Failed.
The service was very good. The food sometimes lacked in quality of cooking or ingredients (i.e. Scampi). Menu choices are standard and very similar across any other pub/restaurant, so there was nothing particularly new to try. Overall the table was happy and appreciated the food (in particular the steaks) and the the drinks. The environment and the atmosphere were very good as well: classy, stylish, rich in history, nice riverside view.
Lovely atmosphere, beautiful views of Thames and tasty food - what's not to like?!!!
Good service and food, but not great. Excellent location and great views
Very good Sunday roast and excellent service. I will be a repeat customer.
A great location overlooking the Thames. Book a table by the window for a fabulous view - We were a party of four all with differing tastes but each of us was delighted with our food choices. Highly recommend a visit here
Trafalgar Tavern......lovely environment, nice staff.Food tasty but some issues. ...very little Avocado in the Prawn Cocktail. ...Spring greens as a replacement for Green beans which were advertised with no explanation /apology ...slightly overpriced.
Excellent food and beautiful location, can't ask for more in a pub
Very good service and food in a lovely historic setting.
Great food good service plesent surrounding. Great place for great view
Food was very delicious and we had with lovely river view.
Food was good, service was slow, ordered only a main course and we waited over 50 minutes it. Not good and no excuse. Very noisy. The toilets are in a dire need of update and cleaning.
Great food and atmosphere. I would go again if in the London area.
Very unusual menu. Great food and generous servings. Whitebait were excellent.
perfect location with large outdoor area and airy rooms with wooden floors, fireplaces, a lounge area with sofas and fabulous views of the river from huge windows. Service was excellent, staff were so pleasant and helpful. Food was great. Will return. However, one thing needs changing...swiftly...the unisex toilet at the far end of the restaurant - absolutely awful! Stained pan, and tiles hanging off. Such a shame but has to be mentioned as it was appalling.
Great food, the staff were very attentive but without being annoying. We were early but were shown to our table immediately with no fuss. Recommended
Pretty poor value for money. Confused and slow service. Fish and chips great, everything else a bit meh.
We ate at the Trafalgar on Sunday lunchtime (advanced booking helped). The service and food were excellent which, combined with lovely views across the Thames, made for a very memorable lunch. Highly recommended.
Very good Sunday lunch, decent sized portions with a great riverside view. Very popular venue
Good food and reasonable service--though a bit slow. Canned music too loud and not appropriate for a meal. Wonderful setting. We will come again soon.
I took my fiancée there for his birthday. Asked for a window seat and got one. Lovely setting and great food with generous portions. Highly recommended.
A very pleasant experience, with good food and relaxed surroundings for lunch. Three of us including a child of 11 enjoyed good quality and well cooked starters and main courses
The food was good and service was great, however I must say that the toilets were absolutely disgusting and it's such a shame because that ruined it for me.
The service was good and the staff were attentive but the food mediocre. The location is great but parking can be difficult on weekends. Great views of the thames!
Having organised River Trip day out for 23 people of mixed ages I needed an eatery to suit all parties and chose the Trafalgar Tavern on the rover Thames- Greenwich and what a wonderful place to done the manager was first class and tended to us impeccably the waiting staff were extremely polite and attentive and best of all GREAT FOOD AT AFFORDABLE PRICES thank you very much we will be back
Booking worked well and we got our seat at the window next to the river. As for food, it was pretty good as always, especially the buttered asparagus starter with deep-fried crumbed egg, crispy prosciutto and hollandaise. Had fish and chips for main as usual. Fish excellent, but I wasn't impressed with the chips which were the size and shape of fish-fingers and were undercooked. The wine was drinkable but not great, and very over-priced (almost nine pounds for a large glass of pinot noir). Finally, I feel that £4.50 for the world's most microscopic glass of sherry was having a bit of a laugh, on the whole.
Lovely views, hearty gourmet-pub fare, friendly but slightly harried staff. Look, that's it, I could say something about the lights across the river but they shoulda sent a poet.
Food and service very good. Toilets were not so good. Untidy and hand drier didn't work.
The venue was great but the food was only average and we had to wait one hour and a quarter for our food. We had young children with us and we were all in a bad mood by the time our food eventually arrived.
Very happy with everything especially the complimentary desert for my mum on mothers day
Good service. We were seated quickly and offered water and drinks which arrived promptly. The food portions were generous and the vegetarian mains were very good (although there were only two vegetarian mains on offer). The roast beef was a bit disappointing - rubbery and chewy and the Yorkshire pudding was rather doughy. All in all a bit overpriced although the view out over the Thames was lovely.
Such a beautiful location, excellent food and the service was fantastic. The only down side was the building works going on during our visit, but it was hard to be too bothered by it when the rest of the experience was so lovely.
Went on a Sunday. Had roast lamb and roast beef. Really excellent food. Lovely decor and outlook.
We had lunch on a Saturday, we booked beforehand. We arrived to an empty room and we were shown to a table towards the back. We asked to change to a table in the window overlooking the river but we were told it was booked for the same time as we were. The table remained empty for our entire stay which was over an hour and a half. I understand that if the table had been requested specifically they should not release it but it was certainly not booked for the time we were there. Having said that the food was good and the service excellent. It is a lovely place to eat although the wine list is slightly expensive.
Very good location, a pity about the scaffolding and building work going on, but good varied menu but slightly expensive. Service was good efficient and pleasant. we would go back again.
Great location and decor. Food was lovely - just needed a bit more gravy with the roast dinner. Would definitely go back.
Very nice food, and the staff were very pleasant; but the service was extremely slow for a restaurant in which we were the only customers!
Way too restricted menu. We were forced to buy four courses when all we wanted was one or two
Nice staff good food glad I came to soak up the history
Great service and delicious food. We had a really lovely evening and will definitely come back and recommend to others. Thanks a lot to all!
Had a lovely night. Food was good. Service was good too.
Dreadful. Booked table for 8 pm. Presented with tolerable microwaved food. Charged £70 for 2 course dinner for 2. Asked to leave at 9:15 because there were not enough customers to make it worthwhile for the pub to remain open. Appaling attitude.
