Perfect location on the riverbank - light and airy with the windows open on a warm summer's day - excellent choice of food and efficient and friendly staff - what's not to like - marvelous!
Very friendly atmosphere ; tasty food and generally prompt service. It was really great to be by the river on a hot summers day. Will return
Awesome food lovely night! Service with a smile, and food came in a timely fashion. Would definitely return for another meal with all my friends!
Upon arrival our table was not available. Food was above average and the place has a good environment and a great location. I would go again.
I booked a table for 4 for the first time at the Trafalgar Tavern and loved it, we had a table overlooking the thames and that added to the enjoyment. The food was lovely and a special thumbs up to the proper fish n chips , we will book again
Lovely food and a great table overlooking the river. Moderately expensive but the quality of the food and fabulous location make it well worth it.
Nice location. Only booked online within the hour of wanting to eat on a very busy Sunday afternoon. Had roast beef lunch- not enough vegetables.
Excellent meal large portions. Staff polite and attentive in a busy dining area. Good value in a very attrative setting. Will go back again soon
Restaurant seemed under-staffed, service was slow. They couldn't seat us at time we'd booked, had to wait standing 10-15 minutes in busy pub. Then argued that it 'wasn't five minutes' when, after being asked to 'come back in five minutes' I came back having checked my watch that it had been in fact five minutes.
Lovely surroundings and great food with a small group of friends. Service was ok, even though, surprisingly, it was not busy on a Sunday evening. Would still recommend the Trafalgar Tavern and go back myself.
the setting was lovely - a table by the window, looking over the Thames. Walls well decorated with 19 century prints. Good wooden floor, tables not placed too closely together. All made for a great group meal. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was fine, but not great. For example, the rack of lamb was delicious, the Mediterranean vegetables that accompanied it were too oily. This dish came with the lamb and slices of red and yellow capsicum, courgettes and some eggplant - no potato. The announced mint drizzle was there, but so slight, hardly noticeable. The steak dish was a complete winner, with baby roasted vine tomatoes, chips, good sauce, large mushroom. The fish and chicken dishes were fine without being notable. Sticky date pudding was ordered by 3 guests. It was enjoyable because of the topping and cream - but the actual pudding was dry. The restaurant section of this pub was empty except for our group. At 1 pm on a Thursday. This was a first visit, so no major conclusions can be drawn. We enjoyed the experience, it was a pleasant venue....but maybe to compete with so many good food options, there needs to be closer attention to excellence of each dish - or a menu that represents only what the chef can do with excellence e.g. The steak meal.
The staff were helpful, very pleasant and attentive. We got a nice place to sit, my friend could look out at the river. The meal ( fish and chips and dessert) were enjoyed by us both.
V disappointing meal, as I had visitors with me so quite embarrassing. Food was not freshly cooked and I would guess it had been sitting on a hot plate for some time. Will not be going again.
Nice restaurant area. Staff were very friendly and accommodating , as part of our party were late in arriving. Food was very good. Would recommend .
Great atmosphere, great service, fantastic view and amazing food! We went for my graduation dinner and it was the perfect place to have some good food (Chicken Liver Parfait and the Mussels were the favourites) and a few drinks to celebrate.
Service was poor, had to wait over 45mins for food to arrive and we were the only customers eating at the time. When the food arrived it was cold, the muffins weren't toasted and overall very disappointing. We did receive money off the bill but I still would not recommend coming here for brunch.
Excellent venue. Really lovely, buzzy atmosphere. Good service and excellent food. Fairly costly for Sunday lunch but well worth it. We have been before but not for a long time and we were not disappointed.
Excellent food from a reasonably extensive menu and great nautical ambience with many pictures and artifacts representing our maritime tradition. Service was first class and altogether, with a wide choice of beers on tap, not expensive.
This is an historic restaurant on the south bank of the Thames. When we visited on a warm, summer, Saturday evening both the bar and restaurant were noisy and busy. Despite being busy the staff were pleasant and efficient. The food was good and reasonable value for London. Although the steak was a little underdone for medium/well, the food arrived quickly and was the correct temperature. Overall a very pleasant experience; will visit again. N.B. Booking is essential.
Menu has dome interesting options: 'proper' fish & chips, great vegetable dip platter with 3 dips, particularly liked hop-flavoured lager! 12.5 percent service charge automatically added to bill was a bit cheeky!
Pleasant atmosphere, especially on the summer sunday. Seating was available both indoors and outside. Was more busy near the middle of day and emptied out in the evening. Drink prices were reasonable.
Food was great as always, but service is terrible. With the excuse that they were full and extremely busy, the food arrived to the table with 20 minutes between esch plate (table of three and I had my food 20 mins before the people I was with, so they had to watch me eat), the barman was going crazy, and we ordered first some drinks from a very kind guy at the bar, that said he had only been working there for an hour! He did a great job though for someone that has no idea about where things were and what to do. This place is always like this. When I asked for the food, a lady just told me there is nothing I can do, can't you see how busy we are? After paying almost £30 for a pint and a burger, I would expect something much better, even if they're busy!!
I took my mum and aunties here for a special lunch on the river. The food was great but even better was the service. They really looked after us and made a fuss of us.
Although menu was not extensive, the food was superbly cooked and presented and the service was excellent. With the perfect riverside location truly an experience to be recommended.
Beautiful location; friendly staff ; great ambiance. Very slow service - main course didn't arrive until almost one hour after our arrival. Wine arrived immediately of course. Apology but no offer to make up for such a delay. Food varied. Good lamb and beef. Poor vegetarian - and a remarkably small portion. No one asked if the food was fine so no chance to point this out. Dessert was excellent. Wine ok for the price.
Great food and service. Was a particularly busy Thursday and could have done with another member of staff in the Restaurant! (Or we could have slowed down drinking!)
A very nice meal at a table overlooking the River Thames - friendly and efficient service. We shared some very good whitebait for a starter.
Service was not very attentive and my Yorkshire pudding (the best bit of a Sunday dinner) was stone cold and rubbery, like it had been left out for an hour. :(
Food was yummy and good portion sizes. Staff friendly and helpful too. Very enjoyable experience. We left feeling full and satisfied and would definitely go again
We had a very pleasant evening. Food was really good and the service was excellent. Lucky to be given a table by the window with great river views.
We had to wait from 1.30 till 2.45 to be served. Food was good when arrived. Waiter acknowledged our frustration and we had deserts on the house. However I would not recommend going at the weekend ,they just cannot manage the numbers.
Very busy as it was Father's Day. Service was a bit slow but the food was very nice. Two items that we did not order appeared on our bill but were quickly removed. The internet was down so they couldn't use the card machines so we had to wait a while but were offered a free drink while we waited. Overall quite nice but they could do with more staff.
Good pub food, nice atmosphere.Family friendly.Good service & not over priced.Right on the river,so you get a nice view over the Thames as you chat and eat.Would go again.
Lovely fresh food, great polite and friendly service, wonderful venue with amazing river views. Easily accessible. Good atmosphere, would recommend for family lunch or romantic dinner.
Lovely food and great waiter service. Rxoerience spoilt slightly by meals not coming out together but it was a very busy times. Prices where slightly on the high side for the portion size but the food itself was delicious.
Nice folks, good food.i enjoyed it as did the family. Easy to access from pier. G9d ambience. Prefer normal chicken eggs, not duck, bit weird.
Good service and friendly staff. Would go again. This historical pub by the river is a bit pricey but all the pubs in Greenwich probably are.
Lovely building and cosy atmosphere with a wonderful view. Staff could be a little friendlier. Music a little too loud for comfortable conversation. Recommended for dinner and romantic occasions
The starter arrived fine but we had to wait over an hour after the starter was cleared for the main meal. Two were sent back as they were stone cold. The parsnips and carrots were inedible - it was virtually impossible to cut them!!!!! The only positive thing about the meal was the great view of the river.
First class attention at 'The Trafalgar. Had to revise our pre-booked time for Lunch but experienced no problems. Super table looking out onto the River.
The food was so-so, the view was great, and the first-day-on-the-job waitress was abysmal. I couldn't believe that after the starters were finished, she came over to our table with a damp rag and a spray bottle and started cleaning it. It wasn't dirty and our silverware was covered with cleaning fluid. Never again!
Good service, nicely paced. Solid pub food - perhaps a little over- priced but considering the lovely location of the inn that might be expected. Dessert menu was rather limited. Excellent beers.
Good food, friendly service, a relaxing atmosphere and a great view over the river all made for a delightful dining experience. I would certainly recommend the Trafalgar Tavern for Sunday lunch.
We booked for 6, on arrival were told our table wasn't ready, while waiting for it to be laid the manager told us that the kitchen was closed for the evening. When told we had a reservation he admitted us. The unnecessary lie was a bad start. The food was OK but pricey (my husband says the roast potatoes had obviously been kept hot for too long) and the service pleasant but hurried, we felt that they wanted us to go. If they don't want to run a restaurant on a Sunday evening they don't have to, it's not compulsory.
Awfull awfull service. Brought starters with main course, forgot to bring one main course(!!) and always had to ask for something 2-3 times. In the end when we had enough we said we wouldn't pay for the starter and main course they forgot and was only offered £20 voucher as compensation!! Who would want to go back??? We called the manager and only then it was sorted out. Never again!
Big plates filled with nice food. Good location down by the Thames. Nice and efficient waiters. Reservation work superbly, quick and efficient reception. Good experience.
Fish and chips very tasty. Very good service, just the right level, not too in your face but still friendly and attentive, and great location.
Good service, lovely staff, great food especially good white bait. Good burgers/Pork belly with crisp crackling. Good choice of wines, lovely fruity D' Avolo red wine went down well.
Lovely venue. Beautifully cooked food. But service was really poor. Charming waitor- but left for large tranches of time, without drinks, without food. Long gaps between courses. It was really difficult as we had a large party of children, and therefore it was difficult for them to enjoy the experience as they remained hungry and then bored. It was my father's 80th birthday- hence a family party. Fortunately he enjoyed the nostalgia.
Good food, had a table allocation issue but this was resolved by the restaurant manager quickly and from then on we had avert enjoyable visit.
