The Pie was awesome. The Mussels, not so much. The server's knowledge of the wine was not so great. Overall, a lovey atmosphere at lunch and a good location. Perhaps a little overpriced, but reasonable with a tastecard. As a former waiter of many years, I am always a little irked when there's a service charge added to a bill (other than for large tables). Especially when the setting is not formal - in this place it is pub grub, not a proper restaurant - and the service is equally informal. The bill came to £25, of which over £4 was service charge. That's obviously worked out before the tastecard discount, and seems a little excessive. In my experience people tend not to dispute these "optional" service charges out of embarrassment, but people instead simply choose not to go back. So this might be a bit of a short-sighted cash grab on the part of management...
Staff were really nice and helpful. regularly came and checked on our table. the food wasn't as great as my previous visit which was disappointing. I had lamb chops and the presentation was great and looked like there was loads, but when I actually ate it it was basically just all bone and fat, I barely got a mouthful of meat, very disappointing.
booked online very easy, beer and wine is always good, you got to love a pie with great filling, very filling so wish I had room for pudding.
Great experience when I went- friendly staff and tasty food. My friend and I enjoyed the food that much we are returning again tonight :)
As with all the pubs in the Three Cheers chain, the Tommyfield does excellent food, wine and beer. Prices a little high but justifies it.
Lovely venue, lovely food. Only slight problem was that the waitress struggled to understand us sometimes. It was a bit annoying when trying to order food.
We ordered the fish and chips , asparagus salad, Sea ba fillets, they are excellent British food and staff are very nice, love to come back again :)
We were staying in the area and the owner of our apartment recommended us this pub: It is a lovely place, excellent food and extremely nice personel. Highly recommended!
Great atmosphere and great food. Service was very good and staff very attentive. We had a selection of different dishes, all well presented and tasty. Will definately go back again and even my friends were impressed by the food and environment.
Top notch Sunday roasts, both meat and veggie. One of our party had the fresh pasta which was delicious but a rather small serving in comparison to every else's roast lunch however would be our only criticism. Overall an excellent experience, the staff were very welcoming and they cater for kids too.
great food and wine & excellent service. The place was welcoming and the menu quite extensive as was the wine list, so well done Tommyfield, we would use you again.
Food is nice for a quick lunch but not a fan of pets whilst I eat. Place smelled of the dog basket which greeted us. I had a burger, can get better at gbk for cheaper. Only went as 50% off otherwise a bit pricey.
Wonderful Sunday roast! Would definitely recommend - lovely atmosphere and fantastic service. I will be coming again! Great selection of wines and a private room available to hire as well for parties.
Really friendly staff, Fantastic food. The Tommyfield has a wide range of craft beers which I really enjoyed. I dined with some of my Australian friends who were really impressed.
Consistently great food. A good place to go if you have kids, and were very accommodating towards one of our guests who had brought her dog with her. Have been countless times over the years and everything we have had from their menu has been spot on.
Great food and great service. We would definitely return. Great for Sunday lunch and also a fantastic evening a la Carte menu. Couldn't rate any higher.
Our party of 7 came to The Tommyfield for lunch. The service was friendly, helpful & very efficient. The food was excellent as always which is why we always visit on all our trips to Kennington.
The food was good, the servers were friendly and the table for our reservation was ideal. We have seen a change lately at the pub and it is a change for the better.
Great food and great drinks with friendly staff at a reasonable price. Have been 3 times now and has been great each time. Highly recommended.
Poor service; had to wait for the waiter all the time
Always like food at Tommyfield, best pies in South London, amongst other food. Staff are always friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth a visit, stumbled across it for breakfast one morning, which is also excellent.
Great wild boar pie, mash and cabbage and also a very good beer selection. Good service and the meat board was great starter. No pudding sadly
Great evening. They changed the screen over to put the tennis on for me, food was great too. Only it did seem a bit dingy in there but that could be fixed with turning some more of their lights on that they just hadn't! Will go again
Very pricey for a pub and a very roudy !! Would not go again kitchen wouldn't take our order cos the chef hadn't come in yet not impressed
Good food - would especially recommend the pies! More restaurant than pub but they still have a good selection of beers and wines. Would recommend if you are looking for a chilled evening out.
We ate at the Tommyfield on a Friday evening and experienced friendly staff and good food and would definitely recommend to couples or groups alike. Friendly atmosphere.
We had a really good time, thank you, very helpfully will the size of the group and food was very good, we will be going back again.
Good staff, good atmosphere, good food & good company. Great pub
As usual a lovely meal. We did however ask them to take the 16.5% service off the bill (something to do with the fact we used a Taste card) and left 10% in cash instead. Slightly awkward!
Friendly staff, quality food and reasonably priced. Go for a pie, you won't be disappointed.
Really nice stuff, food was very good, had a very pleasing evening overall. Definitely going to be watching all my Euro games here this year.
Poor service. We sat and watched our bottle of wine and glasses sit on the bar for 5 mins while bored member of staff stood beside it - had to go and collect it for ourselves! Went to the Tommyfield because local residents we all given a £50 voucher to woo back their custom which only confirmed why we don't go there any more.
I have always been a big fan of The Tommyfield and now it's my local. Really enjoyed my steak there tonight. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Obviously, I'll be back.
Haven't had a Sunday lunch there before & it was very very delicious. Great atmosphere but that might have had something to do with the rugby!
Dined with a friend for Sunday roast, food was delicious and reasonably priced. Was able to book a couple of hours before which is handy for last minute Sunday roasts.
Great place with great food and friendly staff. Always polite and attentive, and the speed of service is spot on. Also a bonus we can bring the dog.
Great pub food. Lively atmosphere and dog friendly - we love the Tomyfield. The food is always good. Tuesday is pub quiz night - not ideal if you want to enjoy a meal
Great sized and quirky room, spotless, comfortable bed, great fluffy towels, everything you need in the room. Good food in the restaurant and good service.
Busy pub with nice atmosphere and good menu choice. Tasty and well presented food. The Tomyfield offers good value for money, with efficient and friendly service.
Visited on a Thursday evening, worth booking ahead as was quite busy. Great food, good selection on menu. Warm atmosphere and friendly service. Would definitely go again.
I eat at this restaurant regularly and it never disappoints. The food is always quality, and the staff are always attentive and knowledgable. I highly recommend The Tommyfields.
Super fish meal, well cooked and presented in a most delightful atmosphere. Staff pleasant and helpful with selections. All together a happy evening and good value
We enjoyed our meal at the Tommyfield. The Seasonal additions to the menu are fantastic. It's a great place for a relaxed meal with friends
Sunday lunch - food quality was very good, it was hot, very tasty and the beef was of the best quality. Nice friendly service. Would definitely recommend.
Really easy to book, had lovely service and a nice selection of beer and wine. The steaks were really good and we would go again.
Food and service weren't up to the usual good standard. Turkey for the main course was quite dry and lacked flavour. Hopefully it's just a blip as usually the food is much better.
Amazing pies, some of the best ever had in a pub! We took some friends from abroad and they went back 2 days later for more!
Went for dinner on Sunday night. Had a Turkey Ballotine which was excellent. Vegetables were fresh and not overcooked. Apple and Raspberry crumble for dessert was surprisingly light - just right. Only criticism was that the service was a bit inattentive - there were some waits in between drinks and courses. Overall a very good experience.
this was one return visit of many the food is continually delicious and the service excellent we took friends this time and all had the pies !!!
Quality food significantly above pub standard in a relaxed, nicely lit atmosphere with good ambient music. All served by friendly and attentive staff. A varied menu and extensive wine list
