Nice and friendly. The food was delicious . Could do with opening the up stairs to allow more space. Very load group made it difficult to hear your own conversation.
The food at The Thames was excellent. There were three of us and we all agreed on that. We would go again for the food. The staff were unfriendly and rushed us along through our meal. At one point we had to stop them from taking dishes off the table. They barely smiled and if anyone did it was frosty! At one point the waiter moved my son's bag from the floor to the free chair at our table by'dumping' it down without a word. He was like a cross parent! Maybe they didn't like us? In the reviews on your site I noted someone had said something similar. When we declined dessert they promptly took the tablecloth off! Before we left the staff had sat down to their own meal and I took that opportunity to briefly complement them on the food , they were appreciative and smiled!! Maybe they don't like serving customers..... We did leave a tip and I would go back for the food and maybe to see if their humour has improved.
Pas beaucoup d'attente. L'accueil a été chaleureux. Il y a beaucoup de choix. La viande était très bonne. Nous y retournerons bientôt je pense. Je recommande.
Excellent Indian restaurant serving great food for over ten years. It gets busy with Waterloo commuters every day, so reservations are recommended whatever time you wish to eat. Try the naga chicken - superb!
Food was tasty but really not hot enough - could have been an excellent meal. Would try again but it was rather cramped with so many tables but It was very busy so clearly the demand is there.
We all really enjoyed the food, there were good portion sizes. The venue was easy to find, just outside Waterloo station. We would all return, the staff were friendly and welcoming too. Very much enjoyed.
An hour wait for our main course, however, we all had a lovely meal when it finally arrived. This would not put us off going again.
Very conveniently located close to Waterloo station. Food was very good, the Goan Fish Curry was lovely and the Lamb Shank was wonderful. Service good.
The menu and service were excellent but my choice was too spicy and salty for me - and I eat a lot of curries. Others at the meal agreed with me. The restaurant is very conveniently situated, just a few minutes' walk from Waterloo station- but you need to like hot, salty curry to really enjoy this curry house.
Great food and excellent service, we will definitely go back! Easy access as it is so close to Waterloo, so very convenient from almost anywhere.
Where with 3 persons, had a variety of dishes ordered who where all well appreciated good taste, efficient services and reasonable price s . Can advise this place.
Good food and can't fault the place except can get a little slow when extremely busy. Which, as it's good, is often the case. But still worth trying for yourself to confirm its good. And so convenient for the railway station/tube for journey home after work.
Absolutely fantastic... loved every minute of it, service and food tremendous as per usual... thank you once again The Thames, we'll be back for sure!!
Turned up and our table was ready - there were 9 of us and we all had good food, good service, good night out. Would deffo recommend to others
Lovely food and very welcoming staff. The restaurant was bustling and noisy and the close proximity of tables meant we chatted to our neighbours which we really enjoyed, so not ideal for couples or people wanting a quiet meal. The portion sizes are on the small size but plenty for me, a female, although our male companions would have liked more.
great service, great food, good portion sizes and very reasonable prices. We had the set menu for 2 for 40 pound and got 2 starters, 2 mains, rice, naan, 1 side and dessert. yum yum.
Service was excellent and the food variety and taste were very good. We had to wait for a table longer than we thought but in the scheme of things it was no big deal. Very busy but the staff did extremely well and the restaurant looked very neat and clean.
Modern decor, busy, good food and service. The regional dishes and specials were particularly good. Modern decor, busy, good food and service. The regional dishes and specials were particularly good.
Great food, with a varied menu with lots of choice. Good location - two minute walk from Waterloo train station! Plenty of room for large groups and very bright, clean interior. Would definitely visit again!
I love my Indian at lunchtime before football on a Saturday. This did not dissapoint. Staff very friendly & then Tandoori mix grill was superb.
Food was very good, lots of layered flavouring exactly what you hope for while being realistic about what is essentially a standard curry house. The restaurant was a little warm, but staff were friendly if a little over quick to clear.
Food was good, staff were friendly and helpful - I would definitely go back. (Unless I was in a wheelchair - there are steps to get in and to the bathrooms)
Excellent menu, great food and good service. A small and cosy type of environment but a really nice atmosphere and made to feel comfortable and unhurried.
Efficient staff,a well run organisation. We were given a nice welcome, served very well.Food was different ,a nice change ,all well prepared and very tasty. We will come back
Table ready on time. Drinks supplied immediately. Order taken efficiently. Food excellent and well organised. Chicken shashlick particularly good. Altogether a very good experience for central-ish London.
Nice restaurant, good service and great food. Really tasty jalfrezi. Would go again if around Waterloo. Doesn't look that much from the outside, but worth going in.
This is the second meal I've had here and both times I've been very pleasantly surprised. The service was attentive and friendly, and the food was tasty, generous and very nicely presented.
Firstly fantastic food. So so good Service was slow and a bit surly and very cramped for space. Overall very good and I'd go back.
Food and service excellent, clean plates!! Beer was tremendous, a real pleasurable experience. Would've got top marks but tables were a bit too close to each other as other guests were on top on us but understand i guess...
Best Indian restaurant in London go there if you want great tasting food and great service. I've been there twice and tried the naga chicken and butter chicken. Amazing
The service is a bit clumsy but the food is awful. Literally diced, defrosted chicken in a microwave sauce. The menus are tatty and food stained, and there's an exposed electrical cable poking out of the wall!
Good tasty food and efficient service at a reasonable price. I have visited on numerous occasions when visiting London and this has always proved to be good Indian restaurant. I will be back!
Good food, attentive service, reasonable prices. Did not have to wait too long for food even though it was a Saturday evening. Would visit again.
We were a large party of nine. We had booked but the restaurant looked full (a good sign for a Monday night). However they quickly showed us to a room upstairs, which was perfect for our good-humoured celebration. We had our own waiter, the service was efficient, and the food good - not run-of-the-mill Indian- if not outstanding. Still we would thoroughly recommend The Thames.
My friends and I were very happy with our meal at The Thames. We arrived on time (8 pm) and were seated immediately. We were promptly served with drinks and were asked for our orders after just the right time. We were all very happy with the food, which was served in good time by courteous staff. Everything was very clean and the décor and ambience were pleasant too. I look forward to going back to this restaurant!
Delicious meal, and although when we arrive at 5:30pm it was very quiet, it filled up in the next half hour, so worth booking. A lovely meal and well worth visiting, and not too expensive.
Good food, good value and attentive service. Very convenient location for Waterloo station. I would certainly use again as would the friends I was meeting there
This is a very reliable place, and for anyone commuting in and out of Waterloo, very well situated. I've eaten here several times and never had any complaints.
Food was very good but service not 100%. Had to call waiter over twice, once for more drinks, second time for the bill.
Fabulous restaurant, been lots of times, every time we go to London, we always end up back at this restaurant, it's great for Waterloo Station, after our meal we head back to Basingstoke. Very pleasant staff and very reasonable prices for meals and the wine and beer. Unti, the next time....
Great lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were friendly and efficient. I would definitely go there again. This restaurant is conveniently placed for meet ups with my daughter being only a short walk from Waterloo station
Great food, good times, wonderful food! Only shame was that the card machine was out so we had to scramble around for cash which wasn't easy!
From outside you might be thinking, lets go somewhere different. However, Enter and you will be pleasantly surprised, very clean and well presented and You are greeted by the friendly staff. Food very nice, some lovely specials. Overall, highly recommended
Good food promptly served. Overall service was very good. Very busy and that was a good sign for a Monday night. Would definitely go back. Only flaw was that they didn't have good old Glasgow Pakora on the menu but you can't always get everything
Decent food. We had limited time to eat and they served us very quickly as per our request. Slightly overpriced for what it is.
It was an amazing meet up with my friends at The Thames...food was just awesome...perfect spices and flavours.. :) ..look forward to visit it more often
Food was great, and restaurant was clearly popular, but food did take time to be served! Wanted to try some of the regional specials but not great selection for those who don't like too much spice.
Friendly service from start to finish, short wait time for food and drinks and the food was very nice so i can have No complaints
We always have a fantastic meal here and this time certainly didn't disappoint. Definitely our favourite Indian restaurant! We'll be back again very soon .
Food was good - waiters seemed pissed off and were slightly abrupt though. As I was seeing an old friend it was not ideal and I shouldn't have left a tip but I did.
