Beef was tough could hardly cut Pork tasteless we have been many times before never been like this. Not enough vegetables for two people. The pigs in blankets must use the cheapest sausages. Yuk.

Nice decor,good menu, good prices, food took 45 minutes to arrive,given mash instead of the chips meal should have contained. Staff not particularly friendly. Pretty busy so is clearly popular.

Met my mum for lunch at The Stables, Cowley where we enjoyed delicious roast beef, roast potatoes and parsnips, ginormous Yorkshire pudding, carrots, beans, cabbage and cauliflower cheese. Lovely, helpful staff and a great ambiance with tables filled with families enjoying a Sunday treat.

All great but the owners need to walk the site and experience it as a visitor to stables, for example on arrival to the front door 2 x outdoor chairs/table stations are well broken … this is the first thing we as customers see… and there was more … the staff are doing the best they can but don’t forget the the basics, please give the premises to the standard you want your staff to deliver. … …we support the stables regularly hence taking time to do this review.. hopefully it will help as the stables are important to support locally ..

The staff are friendly. We were shown to our table straight away. The service was efficient and the food was very good.

Haven't been here in a long time. It was all very nice, clean & tidy. It did feel like we were waiting a while for our food & mine was already cooling down when I received it but overall, very nice

Okay greeting but not particularly welcoming. Service appeared slow compared to other diners around us. Main course pasta dish was very good and would recommend to others, however liver and bacon dish appeared undercooked, would suggest to ask how someone may like their liver cooked as you would do with a steak. Brandy basket ice cream dessert was a poor attempt at 3 scoops of ice cream in what tasted like a stale brandy basket. Use to recommend this place all the time but having ate here today, after a long period of time I admit, I’d be reluctant to recommend based on today’s experience.

Me and my husband had the Roast it was lovely, the service was very good.

We love the Stables, very clean and the food was amazing. The staff were very friendly and brought our drinks very quickly and took our orders. The time of waiting for the food was a little more than we wanted to wait, considering how many people were there about 40 minutes. It was well worth it when it came and we throughly enjoyed it. We will go there again.

A lovely lunch, beautifully cooked and as always a good variety of fresh vegetables. Ambience wise, the background music was certainly background and did not mean that we had to shout at each other which in other venues is often the case.
