Great choice of food and good value for money and quality.

Booked table online; easy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food a was vey tasty, with generous portions. Only one minor grip as just one ale available, with two closed. Other wise very enjoyable experience.

Took ages to serve us then after 39 mins told us some of the meals weren’t available. When food did come out 3 out of the 4 meals were cold . They then returned them to us and garlic bread was cold. When we asked for them to be taken away there was no apology and she didn’t even ask if we’d like to try something else from the menu

We left without eating as we had waited over an hour and still our meal hadn’t arrived. I asked after an initial wait of 30 mins and the waitress never came back, she walked past our table repeatedly but did not make eye contact. To be fair it was busy but if we had been told on arrival there would be a delay of an hour, we could have made a decision to stay or leave. The meal was part of my daughter’s birthday present, which makes it even more upsetting.

Good value food with a wide, though not overwhelming range. All the staff were very polite and friendly despite big pre-Christmas groups. Great atmosphere

Very pleasant staff but it seemed a little chilly where we were sat. Meals were excellent.

We found the room cold as we were seated at the bottom of the stairs (December). The food took about 45minutes to arrive even though it was not particularly busy when we arrived. Having said that, the food was tasty as always. Now 'On the fence' as to whether to return again.

Booked table online. My Sunday roast was fine, not hot but okay, turkey with nice veg, but extras were £3 extra. I had 2 medium size ‘pigs in blankets’ My mum had the small fish pie with salad. Mostly potato, not much fish. Arrived at midday when table was booked, first to arrive. Meal order taken quickly but waited about 15/20 mins for it. Not busy at that time. Room filled up with other customers but no one else seemed to eat for a while. Desserts a bit pricey (£7) so didn’t have one. And the room was cold. But all-in-all a good meal. Staff were polite and kept asking if everything was okay. Been here before and would go again.

A lovely meal. Friendly & helpful staff. Great service. We sat at the top end of the bar by the door so not the warmest spot but that didn’t dampen our evening. Thank you

Food was excellent but our table where we sat was very cold, so asked to be moved which they kindly did. Unfortunately, the Stables was very cold inside wherever you sat! The food and service was lovely.

Very disappointed we had to sit with our coats on for the whole visit to the stables today the place was so cold. In the end we chose to leave and go Bernavillle for pudding and coffee. Not sure we’d be back for a visit again in the winter!

Enjoyed our visit, cocktail was expensive for a small glass. My daughter could not taste any alcohol at all. Food was good, the pie and mash a particular hit. Service excellent, we were time critical and food arrived promptly. Would visit again, but not bother with another cocktail.

Friendly, comfortable, good-value pub. In our party, we had one GF diet and someone who preferred to be sat out of the way, and both of these were so easy to deal with.

Very disappointed. Usually enjoy our meal there, but booked for a little later and husband was told first choice and second choice wasn't available. Also had to wait quite a while considering it wasn't very busy.

Nice food, cheerful service - but you need to make it clearer that smaller portions are available - my wife really appreciated hers.... and, please make it easier to leave a tip when paying contactless - your staff deserve it.

My wife had the fish pie and said it was amazing. The Roast Beef was lovely as well

Food was fantastic! Service was lovely but would have liked the server to come and ask if we wanted more drinks. We had to go to the bar which wasn’t a problem.

Lovely roast , best I've had in a long time , nice table in the window with plenty of room . It did get a bit busy after our main course , so service was a bit slow to take away any dishes or ask if we wanted a dessert , but didn't spoil our meal in any way

Really enjoyed the food and the friendly service of the staff.

Our first time family visit to The Stables and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The roast beef dinner was delicious - but the only downside was the choice of vegetables. A bowl of what looked like frozen mixed veg for 3 of us! Definitely not disappointed and will visit again.

One problem with our roast it just wasnt warm enough buy the time you get to the last of the food it was cold

Food was superb and good value. The service was absolutely none existent to the point where we had to ask for plates to be removed and for our cutlery. We had to order at the bar as no-one came to the table. There was no sign to say we had to order at the bar. There were plenty of staff in to cover the lack of customers.

Me and my family came for my wife 60th the staff was very friendly and welcoming the for was very yummy and lots off it we will be back soon

Food was great. Service was a little slow but they were busy and plus side to that is, you don't feel you are being rushed. If you've not been for a meal, try it.

We were pleasantly surprised by our visit, never having been before. The service was top notch and the food delicious. My only suggestion is to offer lactose free milk for those of us who are intolerant. Soy is a nut, not a milk!

The food was good quality and well cooked, but unfortunately our meals were cold. We didn't complain az the staff were very busy. The staff were very polite at all times.

OK. Service slow to start with. Had to get staff attention twice. No parsnips and no cauliflower cheese was a shame!
