Lovely food with vouchers for a free dessert accepted. We had the smaller portion n which was very generous and with the dessert was more than satisfying, and having had no lunch I was very hungry. Staff friendly and welcoming

The turkey roast was very good. plenty of it as well.

We found the staff, the food and the atmosphere to be excellent. We cannot criticise the staff or the service in any way, it was 1st class!

The staff were on the ball very polite new there job very well the food was first class very impressed we will be going back very shortly thank you all.

The food was good , the service was slow because only one person serving , someone had called in sick, she did her absolute best ! Please get more staff!

It was cold in the restaurant and we had to wait a long time for our food we had liver and bacon the liver was not cooked and was pink inside horrible.

Staff friendly enough but could of been more attentive I.e noticing drinks are empty and ask if we would like another. Noone checked in on us during the meal. Two members of the party had a roast we were told that there was no cauliflower cheese which is fine, but when the roast did come out more was missing such as stuffing the only items on the plate were the meat, roast pots 1 Yorkshire pudding and 1 carrot we did have a bowl of mixed veg which was very nice. But the plate was swimming in a cold gravy. One of the plates of roast pot found that 1 of pots was black in the middle which was rather of putting. And that the meat was also cold. Even the side dishes of pigs in blankets were cold.Did we say anything no why we were very hungry due to the wait in between the starters and main course which I think ended up being 45mins. Needless to say we won't be rushing back anytime soon

Restaurant was a bit cold. Our deserts were served in cold bowls, so food went cold very quickly. Not up to the usual standards

On arrival the place was empty yet we had to wait to be seated. We were then squeezed in between 2 other couples when the rest of the restaurant was empty?? Service was then slow until a young waitress took over and then service got better Food tasted alright but portions have been reduced yet prices have increased! Shame used to be a very busy restaurant

Not up to the normal standard. Hunters chicken very dry but fatty bacon. The salad tasted as if it had been chopped with a knife used to cut fish and most unpleasant. The chips were lovely but overall very disappointed.

We had calves liver and chicken and bacon tangletely and it was lovely highly recommended

A good value for money meal. Pleasant staff. We waited a little while for the meal but not too long and we had to change the time to 39 minutes later which was absolutely no problem

They had ran out of the starter we would have liked, mains were served with water seeping through the rice, so much when the dish was tilted it all spilt out, selection of only 3 puddings and never asked if we wanted another drink.

Long wait for meals despite not being very busy and no explanation from staff.

Our visit was at 1pm on a Friday. The restaurant didn't appear to be very busy, but we had to wait 45 minutes for our food. The fish and chips (for me) and scampi (for my wife) were fine, and the waitress was informed and friendly. But we were disappointed to be told that as our dog was with us, we had to eat in the bar area, putting us very close to another table. There was no mention of this on the website, which described the restaurant as dog friendly. The website needs updating.

Food was great, really tasty and good sized portions, although it took quite a long time to arrive. Maybe we just arrived at the wrong time, as there were 2 or 3 large groups

On previous visits, our meals have been very good, but tonight, was a little disappointing.. my calves liver and bacon was overcooked and salty... The other meal ( a pie ) was salty, but maybe it was the gravy? My daughter asked for cheesy 🍟 to go with her steak, but only got plain 🍟....

There was a very cosy log fire burning and the food was lovely. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful

Our booking was for 12.30pm but unfortunately our food didn't arrive untill 2.00pm ! Also I thought that the restaurant could have been warmer.

Good food but we had to wait around 50 minutes for it from ordering. Also had to wait for the vegetables after getting the roast. Also fish dish came quite a while after the roasts. On previous occasions we have had excellent service.

The staff were amazing, the food was outstanding, the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, we will definitely be back. We left a nice tip (of £25) as we appreciated the service we received, thank you. Keep up the good work 😁

Good food, but not enough staff. Had main course and coffees. 2 hours. Capable staff but not enough of them.

Absolutely fabulous couldn't fault the service excellent food with a smile

We had to wait an hour for our meal and the pub was very quiet. I asked if their was any heating as my daughter had to wear a coat as she was so cold and the waitress told me that the heating was on but due to the size of the pub we would be lucky if it gets warm! When the food arrived it was very poorly presented and not up to its usual level. When we asked for a pudding of sticky toffee and custard the custard was stone cold! A very forgettable experience and one I will not be recommending to family and friends.

The food was very nice and the service was excellent.

Really happy with the service. Everyone was very attentive and friendly and made us feel welcome. We had a small issue with one of the desserts and it was replaced with no issues. Thank you. Would also like to say that the nut roast was delicious! The other guests enjoyed their roasts - the pork was very good.

Really nice, good quality food. Huge portions (too much really). Only negative was around a 40 min wait for food which I think should have been specified if known.
