Good place to eat. Welcoming and warm. Good food served quickly. So much better all round than the Red Deer (Which is on our route from Exeter back to North Devon)! We shall return.

Excellent time , lovely meal friendly staff very warm welcome we have always had great food and wonderful atmospheric time whenever we have been here including family Christmas meals(the last three years!)...

Easy to book online, easy to park car (bus stop also nearby) the table was ready, generous portions of delicious food with good veggie/ vegan choices and attentive service. Perfect.

You have some of the new lighting lamps that have visible filaments which are very uncomforatable when they're in your line of vision for an hour or more. Frosted lamps would be much better.

Great food! Bit of a long wait for it though...

Been before so I knew the food and service would be excellent and we weren’t disappointed! The restaurant was extremely busy and our waiter warned us there might be a 30 minute wait for food but it came out much quicker than that and was excellent quality.

Not so good this time. Mash was a little lumpy and veg a little too crunchy. Not a great selection for dessert either

The menu was very clear in highlighting what was suitable for me, being a coeliac, plenty of choice, and my husbands steak was perfectly cooked for him.

We regularly visit The Stables and the roast is delicious, as usual! My 3 year old daughter enjoys the toddler bowl option and it was nice to be offered a colouring book and crayons to keep her entertained whilst we waited for our meals. Thank you for the delicious meal and we shall be back again soon.

The food was very nice but the service was really slow. A bit disappointed as previously it has been excellent.

The four of us had a nice meal, though the last couple of times we’ve been here my husband has not enjoyed his meal so much. We are regulars here. Usually a very good meal but I do wonder if they have a new chef here now?
