The Smoke Pit - Northampton

Another great meal at The Smoke Pit. Tried the Ox Cheeks this time and well worth it. Juicy and succulent and melted in the mouth. As ever the portion sizes defeated us but doggy bags meant we could enjoy later.

We had a really lovely night the atmosphere was great with the music that was playing also. One member of staff was nice and chatty but another was not so much. But all in all we had fun

The food was good and the servers were polite but it took at least 30 minutes to flag someone down for the bill. Otherwise it was a lovely visit

Loads of food we had the meat platter for 2 - could easily have fed 3, service good will definitely be going back another time 😃

As usual, fantastic meal, service & atmosphere . . . best Ribeye Steak ever and my wife loved the Lobster Mac. Oh . . . and the selection Bourbon is seriously good!

Waiter was a bit confused, food took way to long, burger was dry and felt like it had been standing, asked for refills on drinks twice, never appeared, took forever to pay so we ended up walking to the bar...you did ask for a review!

One word......fantastic! 6 of us booked and we were not disappointed. Loved the industrial feel the place had and the staff couldn't do enough to help. Will definitely be going back.

Always consistent on food quality everytime we go. Took a while to pay our bill though. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. First choice of place to eat in Northampton.

The food was amazing, staff were great, we had a really good date night. The atmosphere is loud and quite busy but we like that. we will definitely be back!

we had a fab meal at the Smoke Pit. Our food was tasty and full of flavour. The service was great and I loved the drinks machine where you could help yourself!!! We will definitely be back!!

Fabulous service and incredible food, nothing more to say other you have to try it for yourselves you will not be disappointed. Made to feel very welcome.

Even though our table was reserved online for 4 in the afternoon and it wasn't that busy when we arrived, it was at least 15 mins before anyone asked us for our drinks order. We had a young child with us and had to ask for a high chair. As we were hungry we asked for a starter to share. We had to chase this up. Our mains course took an hour to arrive. Lovely place, lovely people and the food is great. It just took for ever for the food to arrive.

Great place, wonderful food. We had a table booked but arrived 15 mins earlier and we were seated straight away with no problems. Great time ☺

We went to the Smoke Pit for Mothers Day and had a lovely meal! Food was amazing but floors and tables could have been cleaner!

Excellent service and excellent food. The restaurant was very loud but there was a nice atmosphere. Ended up not being able to finish all our meal but the staff kindly boxed the rest up for us to take home!

Amazing service and food was outstanding. This was my second outing there and will becoming back for more. Only issue I have is the tight space

Lovely food great service, good price. My medium steak was very rare, almost blue though. Luckily I'll always eat steak no matter how it's cooked but really this was a rookie error and easily avoided with a but of care

Lovely food, well cooked and presented, interesting combinations, well stocked varied bar and great staff - good friendly atmosphere - definitely recommend for any occasion.

Lovely meal, as ever, we were just left waiting 20 minutes after asking for the bill before anyone came over to take our payment last night.

Great atmosphere. The staff where really helpfull and attentive but not intrussive. Food was good as were the cocktails. Will definatly be going again in the near future

Friendly and helpful staff. Good food and quirky décor. The tables are set apart a good distance from each other so you are not sat on top of people which we liked. Would definitely visit again.

Loved it Chilled out and great for the kids 5 and 2 year old. Friendly welcoming staff. Can't wait to go again. Well worth the journey over.

The smell alone is evocative & the platter was lovely (we'll be finishing off the remainder from our carry out later). The drinks, decor & vibe meant it finished it off well, good ice cream & next time (yes it was definitely worth two trip) I'll be sampling one of their burgers Highly recommended (Was expecting to wait longer given the type of cooking but it wasn't that long at all)

I am so full, the food was quality and service friendly. The re fill machine is also fun. The urinals in the men's toilets are cool as well

Very different layout for a restaurant? Open and airy like you are sat outside for a bbq! Amazing food, cooked to perfection, well presented and good price!

We had never been before. Food was fantastic and good value for money. The atmosphere was great too! Staff friendly and keen to help!! Great to go as a couple or a big group!

Brilliant service, great drinks and lots....and I mean lots of food. Salt and pepper squid was awesome. Typical stepped back rustic burger/steak house feel but the staff were the best I've seen for some time.

If you love meat you cant go wrong at this place, easy going no hassel place. You even get a doggy bag to take home

Perfect for what we wanted!! Will definitely come again. Portions are huge and the drinks are very nice as well. Service was efficient but felt ever so slightly unhappy x

Great overall experience, great food and staff. Shame the sausage was only available on the platter though. Would highly recommend to anyone who likes bbq food.

The food and service was outstanding. We could not eat everything so they offered us a takeaway bag which was a great. My only complaint is that the music was so loud that we were shouting to hear each other which is a minor complaint. Highly recommended!

Great atmosphere for a mid week night. Was able to get a table at relatively short notice. Service was helpful and friendly without being intrusive. The staff seemed knowledgeable about the menu. Would definitely visit again.

Good food and vibe. I tried to add some additional people to our booking which they couldn't do which was disappointing . Not a place for vegetarians

Excellent as usual! The food was excellent, it's always packed full of flavour. The burgers in particular are excellent as they're really meaty. Service was very good too, it's always friendly and welcoming.

The food was good however the service was not. On a Wednesday evening we were in the restaurant for an hour before food arrived and when it did, on our table of 4, one order was totally wrong... It took 15 mins to resolve by which time the others had almost finished. The one upside is that they dropped that meal off the bill. Don't dine here if you're in a hurry... 2 weeks ago on a Saturday evening our friends waited 2 hours and walked out as no food arrived.

We were seated quickly and the service in general was very good. The food was amazing though and I will definitely be going back again soon. There is also a big selection of drinks available.

Meat lovers dream. Great food, generous portions. Great service, good value for amount we had. Shouldn't have had pudding but couldn't resist! All 3 of us enjoyed food, and will happily return.

The smoke pit was amazing, the atmosphere was right up our street. We loved the food couldn't fault it. Overall it was an awesome experience and will definitely be going back.

Previous 3 visits were great. This time service was non existent. Had to chase up our burgers 30 mins later and ask for drink service - eventually good food after 45 mins and sides 5 mins later. Food average this time. Shame
