Great food, great service a little quieter than normal but that's OK. Staff really friendly and happy. Overall a really nice evening. Will be returning
Excellent food and always satisfied with services. Would highly recomend it to any body who likes there food. It is fairly exspencive but the food is worth it.
Amazing customer service, great with kids too and the food is amazing highly recommended, the milkshakes my daughters loved and also the coke machine great.
Good service, atmosphere and music. Food was more than ample and very good apart from the veggie burger (soya) which was awful. Very pleasant experience all round
Excellent time had. Travelled from Bedfordshire just for the Smoke Pit. Staff were so helpful and very friendly. Portions are massive but to be expected ! Keep up the great work and we will certainly return soon.
it was a family get together( party of 9 ) ,1 of the party has a gluten food allergy , this was discuss with the manger , food arrives ! one of the meal was the wrong order and you guess it a meal with a ton of gluten on it ,,,,,, the bill was wrong 2 times ,, not happy and will not use again ,,,
Meal was really nice and lots of it, service friendly and helpful and we would recommend trying the smoke pit to others. Going there again soon.
The food was amazing. I have been three times in total now and each time the food was excellent. The service was average on the first visit but the other visits were great. No complaints here and we will be back!
Could not fault the food and the staff very friendly very helpful atmosphere nice very easy to make a booking via there Web site would recomend
Great food, lots of choice, lovely atmosphere, staff very friendly and service very good. Would definitely recommend and we can't wait to book again to revisit.
Too dark to see the menu, very over priced, an egg sized amount of minced meat made into a pattie, a quarter of a chicken Breast and a fish finger amount of shredded pork, a bread roll and a quarter of a gherkin ..£15......
Went with a group of friends and was a busy night, full restaurant. The food was great but unfortunately slow service. Will definintly go back though.
The food was great, the playlist in the background was great, the service was great, the option to take what you can't finish home as standard practice was great: I love The Smoke Pit.
Not a big meat eater but enjoyed the experience. The place has a good atmosphere and I enjoyed the music! The food was huge and very indulgent and although not a big meat eater, I enjoyed something a big different.
Fabulous food and good selection of drinks to accompany. They have a vast array of hot sauces for those with a stronger palette than my own!
Loved it! Food was awesome, service was excellent! Love the decor, very relaxed feel & the tables aren't on top of each other, highly recommend it!!
Negatives: Very noisy, slow service, drinks order was wrong, insufficient information about unusual cuts of meat on the menues, felt like the staff really wanted to be elsewhere, expensive given these faults. Positives, meat was properly cooked portions are generous
Excellent food and good service, would highly recommend this place to go and eat! Expensive but really worth it! Ribs are lovely only downside is they don't tell you about the specials or offers so I ended up loosing out on that
Amazing food as always. Service is always good. Fantastic atmosphere
Very good food and service but quite noisy (difficult to chat easily!) and the chairs were a bit uncomfortable. However, it was worth it for the fillet steak - it was delicious!
Great food, great scene, great beer and very reasonable prices. If you like American style BBQ then this place is perfect. Well worth a visit.
Nice place. The meat was really nice. However the pudding (chocolate sunday) was very average (not taste, apart from the choc brownies bits). Shame, especially at this price.
We really enjoyed the smoke pit it was our first time there, we will definitely go back and take our family and friends. We certainly recommend it
Really good food and choices were excellent. Good value for money. Drink choices were excellent and service was very good. Would recommend, however be prepared to be full.
Amazing food and great atmosphere, with very attentive staff- so stuffed we could barely move out of our seats! Lol we will definitely be back.
Food was good, made the mistake of having a starter which was tasty but then too full up to do justice to main course. Service good, nice atmosphere. Would definitely visit again.
A fantastic building and very well done out inside with remnants of its former use as a bakery still there. A good selection of drinks and interesting menu with a good selection. Four of us were eating and we were all impressed with our mains and starters, they obviously know how to smoke food properly and great to see them using locally produced charcoal (Oxford Charcoal Company). My only reason for not rating a 6 is the experience was let down buy the staff. They were polite and courteous but in no way engaging with us. The restaurant was quiet but it was really hard to get eye contact with any of the staff and was a battle to get more drinks (not good for business for the owners), we were not asked how the food was either whilst eating or at the end of the meal. Just a general feeling of lack of interest from them which is a real shame for what is otherwise a great place. It wouldn't put me off going again and I would recommend to anyone that wants to enjoy some genuine smoked BBQ food in a great location. It seems to be a common theme with the reviews so I just hope the owners give their team a bit of direction and coaching to make the experience nicer for their customers.
Might of got them on a bad night but my wings were cold the sauce on them were far to hot couldn't eat them the staff were good but slow Nine of us went and only two would come back
Excellent all round. Went with my husband, in laws and 2 yr old son for lunch. The food is amazing. The service is incredible and I would highly recommend The Smoke Pit to anyone thinking about going.
Had a lovely, served immediately, was pleased to see that they have a proper gluten free menu now! Colour coding is really helpful! Would like to see the fries become gluten free in the future, but the food tasted amazing! Service was great!
Brilliant food and atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it to a friend for a casual get together. Great service and fantastic staff. Will definitely go back!
Staff really friendly and helpful, portions are a bit on the big size, but quality of food was really good! Alcohol milkshakes were amazing and my husband loved his! Option of the refills on cokes etc was brilliant as i don't want two whole drinks but want more than one! Perfect place for a birthday meal for my husband! Recommended to family and friends. Next time I'll just have a starter as my main 😁
The food was very nice, service was friendly and efficient. I found the place quite loud and struggled to hear my companion. It's quite expensive...we both had mains only plus 2 beers, 1g&t and a lemonade and the bill came up to £60.
Generous portions but quality isn't sacrificed for quantity, very good meal and very good service. We will certainly be going back. Also love the artwork for sale!
Lovely building and shabby chic decor. the food was lovely, service is a little slow. The food is cooked from fresh so you expect there to be time between courses but the drinks orders took a long time to.
Excellent food, great quantities. Meat and beer - great for a bunch of blokes (which we were) but perhaps not the most lady-friendly eating experience ;-)
Highly recommended lovely friendly atmosphere, food is amazing huge portions ,cocktails are fab , go every time we visit Northampton .staff very efficient and very helpful great experience ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Amazing food, great atmosphere and good service. We had the sharing platter, it was huge and could feed 4. There was a great selection of drinks and beautiful desserts
Great service & lots of food cooked as it should be, a doggy bag to go. Would recommend if want a feast with a rustic feel.
Very quirky restaurant, friendly staff and a massive selection of my favourite Bourbon drinks! Me and my partner went for the 2 man platter and we couldn't finish it! Will be visiting again.
Great food, rib+Wing night is ace. Will be going again. Twenty five words is quite a lot. Maybe reduce it as I'm just jabbering on
Friendly and efficient service and restaurant atmosphere.Overall the meal was good and enjoyed by all of our group, only criticism is the ribs were very fatty.
We had to wait for food for a long time and it wasn't great. Very expensive for what it is. Service was great though. Love the sweets on the tip plate.
Lovely food served in a great looking resteraunt. Staff could not do enough to help and we left very satisfied. Overall a very pleasent evening
Food was not upto the same standard as the decor. The food lacked finesse and was clearly rushed as the ribs and wings were not cooked as long as they should have been. We were in early on a Friday evening 5.30 and was not busy. Restaurant is said as children friendly but other than the chalk wall in the bathroom corridor there's nothing to keep them occupied. Given the prices I expected better quality.
Amazing food, great service, lovely atmosphere and very accommodating of my 2month old son and my discreet breastfeeding. Definitely will visit again for our next celebration.
I've visited the Smoke Pit a few times now and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is bright and welcoming, the staff are friendly and the interesting menu has plenty of choice. The food quality is always excellent and the portion sizes are huge. Amazing desert menu! Perfect place for pre-theatre dinner and/or drinks.
Overall the food and experience was average at best. Very disappointing as we had heard good things about the smoke pit. We ordered the sharing breads platter for starter which wasn't particularly great, both the kabanos and bread were overdone, and I'm unsure what was on the feta. Brisket main was served like prison food - a large dollop plonked in the middle of a tray which was overly salty and unfinishable. For main I ordered a medium rib eye. Again this arrived overcooked but I have to say the quality of the meat was excellent and it tasted delicious with the garlic and truffle butter, easily the best dish of the whole visit. Unfortunately the desserts were also disappointing - the panacotta didnt look as if it had set right at all, whilst the mousse tasted weird. The skillet cooked cookie was ok. So 1 decent dish out of 5 which was way off our expectations... On top of this the service was very funny in that the waitresses appeared disgruntled and just slapped dishes down on the table! They were not particularly friendly at all. Hopefully it was just a bad night as the overall concept, decor and menu do look great.
Wonderful food and great atmosphere, the staff were extremely polite, however we did wait quite a while for our food but having said this it was a busy Friday night.
Great food and good beer, plenty of food, left the restaurant FULL. Service was quick and staff were friendly. Thanks for giving us a memorable night!
