The Smoke Pit - Northampton

Steaks was excellent, would have given 6 stars but they did not bring out our chips and vegetables to eat with our steaks until we had virtually eaten them, had to eat it or it would have got cold, 15% discount given for error. Will definitely go back just on the taste of the steak alone!

Excellent food good range of food on menu , friendly staff nice atmosphere and although it looks pricey it's so worth it, would Definerely go again

We had to wait for a while for food also had to ask twice as to where our drinks were. However the food was delicious and a great atmosphere

Portions have been reduced slightly since we last visited. Maybe a little too much, as prices have slightly increased. Still great food though. Also people seated after us received their food before us. But overall waiting time for food wasn't too bad. Had to go to bar to pay as no one available to bring us our bill.

Our second visit and once again superb food, great atmosphere and fantastic staff. Will be coming again when I can move again from the huge portions! Thank you

Greeted well, made to feel welcome. All the staff are very nice and attentive. Food was excellent. Better than I expected. Drink dispenser wasn't working fully which was the only down side. But all round I had a great evening

What can I say about the smoke pit? The service was brilliant! Lovely, friendly and helpful staff, and The atmosphere is fab! As for the food....absolutely amazing! Meats that melt in your mouth! Just incredible!! Can't wait to go again!

Our visit to the Smoke Pit was extremely enjoyable, from the fabulous ribs to the amazing array of cocktails, we loved every minute! Highly recommended!!

Excellent steak and amazing sweet potato fries. Scallop starter was good but a little on the salty side. Great cocktails and excellent service. A good place to go for a bit of a treat.

Amazing food, tasty juicy full of flavour and great service from front of house. Buffalo wings for starters, sauce was great slight warmth from the chili but correctly balanced as to not ruin your tastebuds. Main, the meat platter. All that needs to be said is if you love your meat this is the dish for you. Cooked to perfection and definitely well worth the money!!! Will definitely be going back.

Excellent food, great waitress however drinks were slow (but delicious when arrived!) definitely a great way to celebrate my dads birthday, well worth a visit!!

Friendly service and tasty food. Portion sizes were pretty generous. Minor criticism was that it took a little while for meals to come out even though it wasn't particularly busy when we arrived/ordered.

Highly recommend The Smoke Pit for all, whether it's an excuse not to cook, after work get together, catch up with friends or a family gathering. Food and service excellent.

Lovely food, lots of meat, very tasty!! Restaurant is very lively and loud on a Saturday night so avoid if you're looking for a quiet meal.

Amazing as always! I didn't disappoint in fact I'm going back tomorrow! Love the smoke pit! Also the cocktails were amazing! Food portions were brilliant I was left so full up and happy! Cannot recommend this place enough !!

Lovely food but the background music was very loud, making it extremely difficult to talk to each other at the table. The noise was similar to being in a nightclub not a restaurant.

Really awesome night out. The food is incredible and service was great, can't wait to go back! Only problem was that the place is so popular it's a struggle to get a table at a good time so book well in advance!

Waiter not great and the food was not as nice as last time. My sweet potatoes fries were like warm. Forgot to bring another pot of chips because the original had spilled onto the table and brought a Luke warm coffee and then had to ask again were they bringing me a fresh cup

This was our first visit. We found it very welcoming, with a good atmosphere. The food was above average, and the service was excellent. We would come again.

Food was delicious but it was difficult to breathe normally due to the fumes. Anyway i'm going to eat there again. During warm days windows could be opened.

We had very good service, very good food and lots of it, on our visit and experience we would highly recommend, a real must for the diner with a craving for #cowpigchicken

Fantastic venue with staff and a menu to match. Will be back soon. It's a real meat lovers paradise with some real quality on offer. We had the Wagyu beef which was amazing.

Like the decor they have put a lot of thought in to it. I had the salted brisket and hash compared to everyone else who all had burgers mine was a very small portion, and I know it was salted but boy was it salty! Was dissapointed with the milkshake as was my husband although he has been before and described it as the milkshake ever so I think it depends on who makes it and when.

Seriously love going here! Great atmosphere, looks amazing and the food is incredible. Staff are very friendly, we had s great night - second time there and will be going again!

Went for a birthday treat on New Year's Eve lunchtime. Friendly staff, good service. We had a wings and ribs sharer with fries. Was not impressed with the food as it looked and tasted like it had been microwaved and not cooked, as I thought, on a ' Smoke Pit'. Also there wasn't really enough for two without extra sides,which bumps the price up considerably.

Brilliant meals and very good service by all the staff, will be going again and recommend it to all my friends and family for the future

Excellent decor. Very American but very cool. The food was simply outstanding and the staff were exceptionally knowledgable and helpful. Quite pricey but worth the money.

Nice food, good service, nice atmosphere. Only reason its not a six is because all desserts are priced at £7 and that seems just a little bit too high.

We were taken to our table as soon as we arrived, with menus and a young lady soon came over to take our drinks order, which arrived shortly afterwards. Food order taken, starter and mains all good. My only complaint is that the music was too loud and too heavy, maybe i'm just getting old!

Excellent variety of choices for food and drink. Love unlimited soft drink. Best nachos ever had! My boyfriend had peri peri chix platter and it was huge! Fab!!!

Food was delicious! Rare rib eye fell apart beautifully and peri peri chicken was scrumptious with the smokey flavour. Service friendly and atmosphere was enjoyable

Really trendy place with a nice atmosphere, but quite expensive for not that good food. Not that keen on the smoky flavours of the food... and massive plate fulls

Awesome food, great staff and ace surrounding...need I say more? Oh...and the nachos to share will feed 4 as a starter...you have been warned! :)

My partner and I both had Wagyu steak - heard so much about it, just had to try - it was amazing - the last mouthful was just as tender and gorgeous as the first, this is either the 1st or 2nd best steak we have ever had and we are true meat eaters who love steak! loved the sides, bone marrow mash was so tasty, onion "rings" were a very pleasant surprise. The chicken wings were a little too spicy for me to enjoy fully - might have been best to mention on menu. Cocktails were delish (bar the tomato and beef one)! No room for deserts. Staff were very efficient and friendly without being ever-present. If you asked for anything you were served by that person, we weren't referred to just one server. Seating was a little hard though plenty of cushions are supplied, the table we sat at initially seemed a little too wide (we like to hold hands when not eating) however given the food the width is needed. I will definitely be visiting here again, maybe even to try their 32oz! I would have given this the full score, only the chicken wings marked this experience down - and that seems petty, shame there are no half marks. I would definitely recommend going to the Smoke Pit, and indeed have already recommended family and friends.

Delicious slow cooked food with excellent service and at a reasonable price. Book early to avoid disappointment and make sure you only eat light meals before going as the servings are very generous!
