Food was very good. Service was a little slow but it was very busy. Overall we had a lovely time and would go back again

The food was amazingly tasty. I had the rib eye steak with black garlic and truffle butter, and it was easily the best steak I've ever had! My boyfriends pulled brisket was mouthwatering. The home-made barbecue and buffalo sauces were just awesome. And the service was cheerful and helpful. Definitely going back there again soon.

Lovely food but portions far too big although you can have a doggy bag. Also seems silly to not be able to pay the difference if you want a major side not a minor!

Fantastic food and service second to none, from the moment we entered the service was great, there was waiting for the table we had booked, the food all came out together and the waiter was so attentive throughout the evening.

Great food, however restaurant was a little cold in temperature so the food went cold quite quickly as it was all laid out on a wide tray

Good food, good service. One of four burgers was a little over cooked and dry but staff were happy to rectify once told. Have eaten here before, always well worth it!

We were seated straight away. However, it took a very long time for them to come and take our order - not even a drinks order while we decided on food. Food very salty. The restaurant was also freezing! Had to eat wearing our coats.

Food was really great and the staff were really friendly. Also particularly liked the multi-soft drink machine. I would suggest for slightly smaller portion sizes (or sharing!) as we all came away a bit too stuffed!

Excellent smokehouse meals with an authentic American atmosphere in the middle of Northampton. All that was missing was my favourite Dogfishead 90 IPA and I could have been back in California!

Birthday treat for hubby. If your man likes his meat then he’ll love this place. Service was great, food was great. Only thing that spoilt our visit was a rowdy table of all males shouting swearing and doing shots whilst we were eating.

Great food and service. Relaxed atmosphere. Great choice of soft drinks, not the usual same old you get everywhere else. Not had room for desert yet as the portions are really generous and you can take your left over as home in a to go box.

Huge portions, amazing food. The restaurant was so cool and decorated in a wicked style. Waitresses and waiters were so nice and welcoming! Everyone’s got to try it out here

I really enjoyed my visit to The Smoke Pit. A party of 10 of us dined there on a works night out, and everybody had a great time. The food, the atmosphere and the service were all excellent. I will definitely be visiting again, and I recommend it!!

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic meal on a Sunday evening, with absolutely humongous portion sizes. Make sure to turn up hungry. We will be back again!

The food was excellent as always, one of the best restaurants in town. They were a bit busy towards the end of our meal so the service was pretty slow and we had to wait a long time for the bill and had to ask twice as the waiter forgot about it.

We had meals from the lunch menu, they were huge! We asked for the meal without slaw and they gave us extra fries without us even asking. The meat was very tasty and service was very friendly.

Amazing food! Massive portions! Waited ages for food though and it was incredibly noisy. Came for a birthday with my partner and he loved it. Definitely recomending

We’re really sad to write this as we’ve had nothing but amazing experiences before but our experience this Saturday was poor from the start. We’d booked a table for 8:15 and weren’t seated until 8:45 with no apology. We were asked about drinks whilst waiting, our order taken and then no drinks until 40 minutes later when we were finally sat down. It then took over half an hour for anyone to take our order. One of our mains was then missed off the order in the kitchen and wasn’t brought out until after everyone else had finished. One of our party then discovered that not only was their bread for their pork stale but it was also mouldy. My husband took the waitress aside quietly to tell her about it so as not to cause a seen but then was confronted by her 10minutes later basically saying that he was lying as he hadn’t told the kitchen. Luckily we still had our plates and so could present the evidence but it really didn leave a good feel for the evening. It was a massive dissapointment especially as we had family down from Scotland just for this one night and had been raving about The place before hand. we completely understand that when things are busy things slip but we just felt that the staff on this particular evening could have helped saved the situation rather than making it feel worse

Can highly recommend the all you can eat chicken and ribs - although you get so much on the initial plate you don't need a second.

Another fantastic dining experience. I requested that the southern fried chicken burger be cooked properly this time - tender and not burnt. Turned out brilliant

Relaxed atmosphere, great food only negative was the platters go cold quickly, may be worth reconsidering the trays they are served on? Looking forward to returning and definitely would recommend.

Excellent service with fantastic food . Great atmosphere staff were all very helpful without any fuss . Would have no hesitation in recommending the smoke pit to anyone.

The menu is very extensive so plenty of choice, large selection of drinks to choose from. The soft drinks machine seemed to be a hit with so many people. The venue was very busy but food came out in a timely manner. I had the pulled pork soft delicious bar b que sauce and no fat,gristle on it at all. My husband had a platter with sausage,ribs,pulled pork and chicken and managed to eat the lot including 2 extra sides. Would recommend to couples,groups and families but I would do as we did and book especially on a Saturday night.

Overall very good. Nice food. When Ordering soft drinks the first should be brought to you then refills get your own. Only the one negative. Will be back again

With eye-watering prices you can be forgiven to expect mouth-watering food.........it wasn't! I love meat but have had much much better at a fraction of these prices. Service was also meh!

Food was amazing but the wait time was ridiculous. It says allow 45 minutes for busy periods but we were there 1hr and 25minutes and had only a starter. By the time we got our mains we were no longer hungry and the restaurant had started to empty! This was disappointing but the food was good.

Overall experience was excellent. Food very good, plenty to eat and struggled to eat it all. Refillable drinks, so many choices to pick from to suit everyone taste

Attentive service, generous portions, good midweek vibe. Impressed with the venue and the ribs and chicken wings platter with a couple of sides was plentiful for two of us.

AMAZING steak!!! Love this place. Everything is delicious and we try something new each time we go. Staff are so friendly and welcoming. Will return.
