Usual good food, service from our young Italian waitress was very good, I have been using the Sea Shell, both take away and restaurant for more than 30 years so am a fan
Nice fish and chips. Good mussels as well. Will come again when I travel to London next time. All the seafood are fresh and deliciously prepared.
Never fails to deliver the best fish & chips experience. Had a sea base in panko this time with a jacket potato which was delicious
Great fish & chips every visit although we ordered haddock and were given cod by mistake. We'll pay more attention next time! Still the best chippy in London.
Wasn't served for 30 minutes. Water was rarely refilled. Aside from that the food was great and a dish was even replaced when we discovered there was garlic (which we're allergic to) in it.
I was not over impressed the chips where had cut but slightly wooden and the fish was fresh but clearly cooked from frozen. Not the quality I remembered from past visits.
Soup and grilled fish was delicious. The experience was somewhat ruined by children running around, shouting and crying at 9pm but the restaurant offered us a complimentary hot drink to compensate. The lighting was too bright.
What an amazing place to go, friendly staff, food amazing ,My friend had been trying to get me to visit for year's would definitely recommend .
Great food, very well cooked fish is superb. Decor and atmosphere good. Service a bit slow to start wilth even though not busy. Overall very good, one of the best 'fish and chips' shops you will find.
Good menu selection and Great fish and chips - nice quiet atmosphere. The staff are very attentive and friendly - a very pleasant evening all round
I have hosted parties of people from six to ten a number of times and my last visit was excellent, as always. I can recommend a visit.
the fish is always fresh and perfectly prepared, a good choice if atmosphere isnt all that important to you. Very limited if you dont like fish though
Have known seashells since it first openende and it is just as good today. The first seashells was a littel shop with no lisense for alkohol
The plaice fish that is fried in matzah meal with chips was delicious. Be aware the apple pie has nuts in it. Sorbet was delicious too!
Excellent meal and service!! The booking procedure was seamless and we were looked after to a very high degree, I would have know concern in recommended this service! Yours, Martin Dixon
Lovely restaurant with tender fish. There's a chippy at the front with a decent restaurant and the back. Fish can be ordered battered or grilled
Very Good service. Great food, freshly cooked and at a reasonably price your could not ask for any more. I highly rate the restaurant. A+
It has been many years since I last visited the Sea Shell, we bought friends from Germany on Saturday. The food was excellent but we had to wait sooooo long for our starters - we asked what had happened to them. There was only one portion of Rock Salmon when we ordered three so two of us had to make another choice - the waitress suggested Halibut but failed to mention it was one of the most expensive items on the menu - £26.50 per person as opposed to £18 for the Rock!!!! When my Halibut arrived it was not cooked enough as still very pink in one part with blood running - quite turned me off but frankly we had waited so long we just wanted to eat and so I left the uncooked portion. In summary - DISAPPOINTED. We MAY try again.
Simply best fish and chips in town. Always fresh and tasty. But also try the other things on the menus. The prawns, the sole and the lobster. Delicious.
Lovely food. Service for main course was a little slow which would not have been a problem if we hadn't been going to the theatre.
A most enjoyable experience, great quality food with excellent service
Food was so so. Service was ok. Nothing speculation or particularly memorable. Both food and service seem worse than when I was there three years ago.
The food was good, with generous portions. However we had to wait a long time for the first and then for the second courses despite asking at appropriate intervals when they would arrive. The staff apologised but we were anxious as we had to reach a nearby theatre before curtain up.
We have been to the Seashell a number of times, both to the take-away and the actual restaurant. This is, without doubt, no ordinary fish & chip restaurant as the fish it sells is first rate and it chips are delicious, not greasy, soft on the outside and fluffly on the inside. If you order the battered or grilled fish and chips then you will not regret it! Fish comes with a choice of different batters, and popcorn is a great favourite. This time around I tried the fish cakes and they were a huge disappointment and didn't takes very nice. The fishcakes were served sitting in a pool of green sauce which covered the plate and that tasted unpleasant too. I think I was more cross with myself rather than the restaurant - I should have stuck to what the Seashell does best. The restaurant is not cheap but the portions are large and for chip lovers everywhere 'bottomless chips', i.e. if you finish your dish of chips then you can have this refilled without charge. If you love your fish and chips then the Seashell is definitely the best and we will be back very soon.
Very nice food, great services. Highly recommended. Will come again on our next visit to London. There are so much more I needed to try.
Excellent fish as to be expected at this location which has been around for many years. The seating area is functional and not lavish, but good service makes up for this. overall a good experience
I used to visit Sea Shell frequently but now I find it expensive for what it offers. it is after all a fish and chips restaurant.
Great restaurant. cod tasted amazing. Price is appropriate. Service friendly and fast
It was so amazing thank very much hope we See us again
Great fish and chips, especially the grilled whole plaice. We arrived early and were given a table within 10 minutes. Unfortunately, it was adjacent to the aquarium (nice) but very cramped and hot - there's air conditioning in the rest of the restaurant, but not in this area. Would ask for a table in the main area next time.
My party was made to feel very welcomed. The staff were very helpful, the food was lovely and we had a very good time. We would recommend a visit.
Enjoyed the food here, fish was pretty good not as crispy as I hope but tasty none the less.
The fish was fantastic but the service so awful that at times we were convinced we were on candid camera. It was our first visit and we had taken overseas guests so we were a bit embarrassed. I think they should probably stick to the takeaway side of the business. Go and get the fish to takeaway but eat in at your own risk!!
Excellent just a fish and chips should be fresh and crispy
The service was excellent and the food good. There was a lively atmosphere, the restaurant is quite noisy so not somewhere if you want a quiet night.
A friend visiting from abroad wanted fish and chips, and the Seashell was the obvious choice. I had never eaten in the restaurant before, though I have had takeaway in the past. It was a very positive experience - particularly the 'bottomless' chips and the charming staff, and all more elegant than I had expected. It was also a little more expensive than I had expected -- cod+bottomless chips at £15.95, for instance -- but it's a London restaurant, after all, and definitely a place to put on the list, especially as it's not far from my home.
Quality of food and service fine - maybe prices a bit too much
One of the top best restaurant in london . Bit pricey but certainly worth it .
We had best fish and chips which we've ever had. Staff were kind and the atmosphere was also good. We were able to dine very comfortably. We would like to visit this restaurant again.
Simple, tasty, inexpensive food, always beautifully cooked. Great scallops. Leisurely atmosphere and no bug rush to get us through our meal and out of the restaurant.
The food & service were great. Definetly recommend; Will remain on my top list for whern we return to London. The place is very clean.
Wonderful, charming restaurant with excellent service and food. We were visiting London and heard this was THE place to have fish n chips. We had a great time!
Simple, attentive service with a good menu and value for money.
We Return to the Seashell everytime when we're in London. Friendly service and best fish 'n chips in town. Always absolutely fresh and juicy. Also try the other dishes, whole lobster e.g.
I took a group of American visitors who wanted to sample English Fish & Chips and we were all disappointed in that the battered fish was soft and very thin and the chips were only just warm, obviously been cooked earlier and kept warm in the cooking range. I expected freshly cooked fish & chips. I ordered a plate of Whitebait and this was almost thrown at me and some ended up on the floor, no effort was made to replace the lost whitebait
This is trully a lovely fish and chip restaurant to experience some lovely fish dishes as a starter and main course. The waitress was very helpful despite it being Friday busy. We certainly enjoyed our 5th wedding anniversary as somewhere relaxed and unstuffy cheers
Good, attentive service, great food in quaint surroundings, party of 4 and all enjoyed!!
Had a great time. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was simple yet satisfying. The portions very generous and the fish was of good quality.
Service speedy for a group of 11. Staff very friendly and food good. Probably the best fish and chips away from the sea side. Very handy for Marylebone rail station.
This place has great food and service really enjoyed the atmosphere. Great for business lunches be it formal or informal. Food options varied to suit all requests.
