Good clean gastro pub. Lovely setting, really friendly attentive staff. Good sized portions delightfully cooked. Went on a quiet evening so the atmosphere fizzled out, however not the fault of the restaurant. Can imagine booking being vital at other times. Would certainly return.
A Traditional pub with good atmosphere, a varied selection to choose from the menu and specials board and local beer. Set in an idilic, Yorkshire village it is a destination for both locals and tourists.
One of our favourite eateries! Great friendly service. Disappointed as ordered lamb but there was none. Had guinia fowl instead-nice but v.small portion. He had steak - very happy man! Children's menu good and just right portion sizes for small children. Lovely atmosphere, music right type - mellow and not loud.
Greeted with a most friendly welcome, all of the staff working hard with happy smiles. We all enjoyed our food, I chose the swordfish & it was the best I have ever had! The salted caramel cheese cake was divine as well. Each of my dining companions were equally delighted with their choices.
Great venue, good food. I was with a new friend and we both had a good time good atmoshere, warm welcome. we would recommend it.
Had previously had a run of good experiences at the Scotts Arms and so decided to take goods friends for lunch. Now I'm totally embarrassed that I did. First, our first two choices of white wine (from a very short list) were unavailable, as was some of the menu courses we requested. Perhaps this is because we went on a Monday lunchtime but to be honest, that is not my problem. Food presentation was bland. For example, my fried fish (£12.95) was simply laid on a few limp chips. Are mushy peas supposed to be dry and grey/black in colour? Not where I grew up. I could rant on. I'm afraid we will not be returning until we hear some good reports.
The food is always good along with excellent service and the atmosphere of the most charming & friendly picturesque pub which is second to none!
Lovely food, good portions and great service. My partner had the pie, which he said was really nice. I had the chicken caeser salad which was a good size with plenty of chicken. Would definitely return.
One of the best old traditional pub/restaurants in England, The food is fantastic, and the service is top notch. The Scotts Arms is our favourite place to eat.
Excellent food with a good choice of wine and real ales in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. Table reserved and ready on arrival but no rush to sit down and eat.
Love this pub/restaurant . Great food in a lovely location. Chicken liver parfait is delish and the Sunday dinner is plentiful. Went to celebrate my parents ruby wedding anniversary and they really enjoyed.
Fantastic little pub. Staff amazing, good exceptional, the menu is dicieving, it's so much more. The atmosphere was brilliant, staff couldn't have been friendlier and the food really was top quality.
Young, enthusiastic, attentive, happy smiley staff, who gave us a warm, welcome on arrival. Great layout and comfy seating. The food was absolutly, delicious, fresh, local produce and piping hot. Highly recommended
Cosy pub, lovely staff and fab food! Menu is extensive and will appeal to all diners everything reasonably priced. Looking forward to the next visit.
Good food and service. Very generous portions. Decent value. This is the fourth time in a year I have been to the Scotts Arms and I have never been disappointed
A pleasant evening with good beer and food. Staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I Would definitely return here at a future date.
Food was lovely as always. Only comment I would have is it took a while for someone to come take our order. Would definitely return though.

Gorgeous food, great service, good atmosphere and live music on a friday night. Steak and ale pie and chocolate fudge cake are a must have!
Excellent food and nice atmosphere. Allowing for the fact all food was cooked fresh we felt the wait was worth it. Will be back soon.
Good food, excellent atmosphere and attentive staff, a very pleasant evening.
top notch food, great atmosphere, brilliant staff, ever changing menu and just a fantastic place for a night out
window table available, food and drinks ordered at the bar, and served within 15 mins. Good range of choices, and all 4 of us very satisfied with both quality and quantity.
Excellent service and food in a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend
Lovely warm, cosy atmosphere are usual and excellent service, although our table was not shown as reserved (several others were). The food was very good, particularly the soup and roll. Another enjoyable evening.
As usual a very pleasant meal. Prices are competitive and value for money. Always enjoy going there for lunch. Has a wide selection on the menu, which should enable anyone to find something.
As usual, the food was very good, particularly the soup and roll which never disappoint. Warm, friendly, candle-lit atmosphere, although very quiet last night so lacking some of the usual atmosphere.
Good pub food. Really helpful service. Steak and ale pie really nice. Small portion of sausage and mash was well big enough for an adult
Friendly traditional country pub with good honest pub food. Ted and his team are always welcoming and provide a great service 100% of the time!
Typical pub grub, good service, cosy surroundings and average food.
Some may think the food is over priced, but we were aware and this was a treat the food when it arrived looked nice, portions are massive, and it was very nice. However we went on a Thursday night and as expected the pub was quiet, with 3 table in use by diners when we arrived. We were show to our table right in the middle of the 3, so it wasn't the most relaxing meal, felt a bit crammed in. I'm assuming the tables were grouped to make the staff job easier.
Great food, atmosphere and service enjoyed by the whole family . The pub was beautifully decorated for Christmas as well. The meal was excellent value too
Good menu to choose from, food was excellent with friendly service & nice atmosphere.very good selection of wines and beers to check out, my wife and I really enjoyed and will return very soon.
Excellent atmosphere live music but we could still hear to talk . Lovely choice food . Great staff. Good beers and wine . Definately recommend
Lovely location and the food was well cooked and quite good value for money. Service was a little slow but the food was worth the wait.
Nice meal, shame about the flys. Great service and a good choice of food.
Amazing food and service! We choose to get starters mains and dessert, all were well presented and can out hot. We are already planning our next visit.
enjoyed the evening very much food was great, staff as always very good and very pleasant Thank you, It was also very good value and pleased that your portion size is just right now, not over faced so feel you can have starter, main , and pudding.
Great food, lovely environment, lots of parking. Perfect! What more could you want from a beautiful country location pub. Will certainly be returning again. Thanks for a great experience.
We went for my daughter's birthday. We just had a main course because the servings are generous. The food was excellent and the service very good.
