Our favourite restaurant and only a mile from our door. The food is always exceptional as is the varied menu. The staff are very welcoming and professional. Got to get yourself there for the RA experience!
Nice place, good food, nice staff great place for Sunday lunch or an evening meal. A little pricey but not silly and very very good.
Excellent consistently. Great food and drink! Friendly staff. Highly recommended by me and everyone I know! I have been numerous times and it has never let me down.
Visited last night, 19march. Had the free range chicken with chips and pepper sauce, Wonderful. Great pub, great atmosphere. Lovely roaring log fire. Bar staff very attractive
We booked brunch for 11:45 so lunch time really. The Ruddington Arms takes simple things like granola, toast and eggs to a different level. Fabulous.
Great quality, staff and good as always. Thank you rudd arms
The food was, as usual, very good. I had mussels with some fabulous bread to mop up the delicious broth. Excellent choice of wines too.
The Ruddington Arms is one of my favourite restaurants . Our visit was for a 'girls' night out . The service from the staff is excellent ,nothing too much trouble . Our meal was super delicious . Will be back again soon .
great food and great staff. was a real pleasure to have such a great meal at a very good price. I will be back very soon as the food was perfect!!!! A++++
Was lovely food with great service and lovely ambience. Would highly reccomend and definitely will return. Haddock main and baked alaska in particular worth highlighting.
Great service. Games available to keep the children amused, relaxed atmosphere yet fantastic quality food and a reasonable price. Good choice on menus with special boards too. Will definitely visit again
It’s a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff. The food was cold when it arrived which was disappointing. Hopefully it was just a one-off overall we had a nice time
Lovely as always. The pie is excellent and the wines fantastic.
Sunday was a very busy day to try the Ruddington arms for the first time. Our first impression was that they had squeezed as many people possible into the limited space. We were lucky to get a corner table but it was still very noisey possibly due no curtains or carpets to deaden the sounds of a full restaurant of couples and family groups. I struggled to get the attention of the waiting staff to place our order. They were extremely busy. I had pork rib which was very nice my partner had duck which was a very small leg and thigh joint and very overdone and dry. It was as if all the juices had been cooked out of it and and then placed on a pool of fat. We like crunchy vegetables but the accompanying kale was raw. As I said to the manager when asked “How was your meal “. Mine was fine but my partners was very disappointing. I don’t think we will be returning.
Regular customers who visited today for my mums birthday. Food was great as always but service disappointing. 1 hour 45 minutes for one course. The mains were served promptly however we waited 45 minutes for the plates to be cleared, and then had to ask to see the dessert menu but then nobody came back to take our order so we eventually gave up waiting and went up to the bar to pay our bill instead. We weren’t asked by the person taking our money whether we enjoyed the meal & were initially given the wrong bill
Nice food ! Very good service. We came for Sunday lunch for my daughters birthday we’ll definitely be coming here again. They just need more parking .
Great food, I struggled to decide what to have a wonderful menu to choose from. Great service, great ambience and decor! Would definitely go again!
Excellent meal in a relaxed environment. Staff were very friendly and there was a good choice off the menu, all of which resulted in an enjoyable experience.
Have had lovely meals here previously but unfortunately not the case this Sunday. Slow and sloppy service and just not made to feel welcome. Food was good. Perhaps just an off day.
We chose the Ruddington Arms on recommendation and we weren't disappointed. Had a lovely anniversary dinner, the food was excellent and the staff were wonderful.
Excellent service and food well cooked and presented. We all had forerib of beef which was a little too fatty for our liking but I guess that is how it comes. Well worth a visit.
Fab food enjoyed our evening very much thank you! Ambience was lovely and relaxed. Wine and menu was well thought out and executed. Perfect night out.
Lovely food great place to gather and relax by the fire before a superb gastro delight. easy going not stuffy or snotty made to feel very welcome.
Lovely pub, food good, service bit slow but didn’t matter as in no hurry. Could do with someone greeting as unsure whether to go to bar first etc
Lovely food and atmosphere. Staff were friendly and not over bearing. Would definitely recommend for food or just a drink, also has a nice outdoor area
Food was delicious and a good range, staff were attentive and pleasant, ambience & decor enjoyable., drinks a little pricey, though. Nevertheless we shall go there again
Visited on recommendation of a friend and colleague. Service slow, barman very slow and tried to charge two different prices for two identical rounds of drinks. One pint and one half of the house bitter. Could be a great venue, food roast beef not good, needs to up its game I am afraid.
Our family birthday meal was perfection. The staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive, checking that you are happy throughout the meal but without being intrusive. The menu posed problems because it really was difficult to choose from so many terrific options. The twice baked stilton and spinach souffle, with a fresh salad was a delicious, light starter. Other family members chose the scallops, which were perfectly cooked and super fresh. The main courses of Portobello and haloumi cheese burger, steak and kidney puddings and halibut were just fabulous. The most impressive thing about this fine dining pub is the attention to flavour balance; seasoning is spot on, the ingredients are always the finest quality, the chefs use combinations which work. We stayed at Angela Barnett's Lime Wood hotel in the New Forest at the New Year and I can honestly say that we both agreed that the food at the Ruddington Arms is superior. It is splendid.
Food & service were as always sublime. Can thoroughly recommend the smoked haddock with mashed potato & leeks, followed by sticky toffee pudding. Can wait to visit again in 2 weeks time. No wonder they won the Best Gastro Pub award!
Excellent food and atmosphere. Service a little slow at taking orders .This should be improved as there appears to be enough waiters. But overall would highly recommend.
The food was really good - we had the bread for a starter - it was lovely just a little to much. The service was great - one minor thing - there was no body around when we left. Will be back.
Excellent food, served on hot plates which is often overlooked by some, good serving staff who thankfully don’t do the (How is your meal sir),overall a very enjoyable experience.
As always amazingly nice food and lovely atmosphere. Service was great. Will be returning again!
Food very nice but some of the quirky serving vessels not great! Very difficult to get my prawn cocktail out of a mason jar :(
Amazing roast dinner, fed four adults really well. Great service as always
The menu provided a good choice and the food was delicious. Special mention for the bread from the local bakery. Atmosphere is relaxed but tables are quite close together.
Quick service despite a crowded lunch time. Excellent presentation of the pheasant lunch which was delicious. Waiters very happy to wrap meat we had not eaten and to facilitate a shared dessert.
First visit - great food, everything done just that bit better than other places. Brilliant baked Camembert starter, lovely mains from the grill. Staff helpful, friendly, attentive but not intrusive; dining area tasteful, welcoming. Thoroughly recommend and will definitely return.
I've eaten at the Ruddington Arms several times now, and it never disappoints. I had pheasant today - I've only had it once before, a long time ago, so I didn't really know what it would be like. I really enjoyed it, and would recommend it for anyone wanting a really tasty meal without felling over full at the end.
Nice cosy atmosphere in the bar. The a la carte menu has a good choice of food. Disappointed one starter on the menu online wasn’t available on the menu at the restaurant. Good price points, but feel the staff could be more friendlier!
Great food, varied wine list, and friendly service, with quiet and relaxing atmosphere - only problem was, we were cold; poor heating in that corner of the room. My wife had to eat with her coat on. Restaurant was busy, so there were no other tables that we could move to. Otherwise - great meal.
Excellent as always, really lovely atmosphere on New Year's Day.
Food excellent as always, shame about the rude and tired waitress. I love this local pub whose staff are normally so friendly, it was a shame to have experienced this poor service on this occassion, especially as I took family visiting from Canada.
As usual the atmosphere was very good, especially with it being Christmas Eve. The food came within a reasonable time and it was 1st class as usual. The service provided by the waitresses could not be faulted either.
We had a lovely family (7) Boxing Day lunch. Because 3 family members were travelling from Sheffield and were running a little late we were told that was not a problem. The set 3 course meal offered a good choice for all of us (including the 5 vegetarians)! The food was lovely and we were looked after very well by all the staff.
We had the Chateau Briand and it was absolutely fabulous. Tom, the Manager, was very attentive throughout the afternoon and made us feel very welcome. Only gripe was we had to ask for table to be cleared of sharing boards to make room for the large plates of Chateau Briand, but this doesn’t take away the overall quality of this place.
As always food has been great !! The guys are really attentive . Food came in good intervals. I always have bread here as is the tastiest in Nottingham !
Great food, well prepared and well presented. A tasty way of spending an evening. Very efficient service on a very busy Christmas Eve evening. Great surroundings, brilliant atmosphere.
Outstanding food and sérvice The Pheasant was stunning, soufflé very good, my wife's cod dish described as "terrific". Reasonable house plonk, good beer selection. Fun!
Very good food and the waiting staff were pleasant. Pity the kitchen appeared to be very stretched so we had long waits for our starters and main courses.
