Great food and atmosphere , a must visit if you are in Burford

The meal was just amazing! The roast beef was to die for! I have not had a generous helping that size, I don't think ever. The Staff were brilliant and service just 1st Class. Nobody offers this kind of value for money anymore, cannot recommend the pub more highly!!!

Fabulous steak pies as per previous reviews, loads of good quality steak in rich gravy. Also loved the wallpaper in ladies!!!!

Came back to this lovely pub after not being for years and had a cracking lunch. Halloumi fries and tuna baguette. Simple but tasty. Last time we had one of their homemade pies which was delicious but wanted something lighter for lunch. Nice local ale, Wadsworth IPA, so all in all a fantastic little pit stop on our quick trip to the corresponds.

Wonderful little gem of a pub in Burford. Wish the weather was better as we could have sat in their lovely garden. But we were inside with a window and it was great. Their pies are what they are known for. We had a steak and ale pie and a lamb and apricot pie. The lamb was to die for. Very tender lamb in a sweet/savory sauce and the pie crust was definitely homemade. I would highly recommend the pub, especially if you like IPA beer and good food. Will go there again!!

Just visited The Royal Oak for a 60th birthday celebration lunch with friends. The food was excellent and so was the service so I'd highly recommend the place to anyone. It's always been a favourite haunt of ours when we're visiting Burford!

Great food, friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. My pie was unfortunately over cooked and therefore dry, hence only 5/6, but my daughter had the same meal cooked perfectly and it was lovely.

We booked the Royal Oak for my 60th birthday dinner with family and a four legged friend. We had a lovely meal, excellent value and superb service. Very generous portions!

Had roast lamb and homemade pie meals for late Sunday lunch. Food well cooked and delicious but vegetables plain and unexciting. Pub has tiny car park but there is a free public car park nearby. Staff made no mention of the birthday celebration I noted on our Quandoo booking.

Despite the reduced menu due to extractor fan issues, we were impressed with the way this was dealt with and although our first choice meals were not available on the night we visited, we were very happy with the meals we had and the evening was very enjoyable. We'll definitely visit again.
