Great food, great service, great atmosphere. What more can you want?
Had a lovely evening very welcoming, and a lovely fire which was perfect on a very chilly night will be coming back .
Great gluten free choices, really lovely food and atmosphere. Will be coming back!
This is a very nice pub with friendly and efficient staff. I had steak and ale pie which was one of the best I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend this excellent pub
The food in this place is always amazing, I’ve never been let down yet Reasonably priced and great service from all involved
Amazing food, amazing staff, always 5 stars. Best pie ever!

Great food, great service and very accommodating. Will be back.
Great food today first time we be here so well done great pie could of done with more mash the roast beef was also great thank you
Wonderful atmosphere, serving staff and food was fantastic, couldn’t fault it
expensive for a pub lunch but the best lamb shank I've ever had. flat white wasn't the best. however I'd still go again they chose a good position for our dog. staff very considerate.
We thoroughly enjoyed our pies! We requested extra room for our pushchair which was provided. We had to send back a pint of ale as it didn't quite taste right but we assumed it was the end of the barrel. The mousse was lovely but wasn't particularly light and whippy which let it down a little but other than that everything was perfect.
3 of us with 3 dogs booked for Sunday lunch. Had delicious home cooked food , the welcome and service was top notch . Lovely environment and atmosphere
The roast lunch was amazing, excellent service and so relaxing
Warm welcome from staff. Lovely real fire on a freezing cold day. Great food and service.
Great food. Lovely staff. Very welcoming. Have their amazing pies!! It’s definitely a must
Thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the service. We will be back! Thank you
Staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Food - good, solid, basic - but spot on.
Superb fish and chips and great beer too. Thank you.
Excellent food, great service and atmosphere. Would very much recommend.
Excellent food and very pleasant staff . Vegetarian helping could have been bigger.

The pies are not cheap, but they are fantastic quality and well worth the money..

Perfect old style country pub with lovely, helpful staff and yummy food.
Absolutely delicious food, great service and fabulous atmosphere. The gluten free menu was good and I had confidence in their knowledge and competence in this area. Completely recommend.
The pie was bang on a 100% full. Very good.
Fabulous food in a cosy English pub full of the friendliest people, we loved it .
Excellent pies at the Royal Oak! Great service and a lovely log burner. Really enjoyable evening.
Great food and lovely staff, highly recommended- big thanks from us all
Three of us visit the Oak monthly for lunchtime food and chat. Its always very enjoyable. Yesterday we had the traditional Christmas menu with delicious food, great service, and crackers too. A warm and welcoming experience.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely return and recommend.
Super pies, we would liked to have taken some away. Coffee was not very hot, so warm milk would have been nice.
Food was absolutely amazing , friendly staff. Great location definitely will be returning
A warm and friendly welcome, as always, and excellent food. I'm back next week with more friends. This could become a lifelong habit!
lovely pub, good service and excellent food. Took about 45 mins for main course to be served but worth the wait!
Overall good experience but the price of a bottle of prosecco at 36.00 was quite high. We were not given a wine list so had no option to choose a bottle ourselves.
Booked a table for 2 on our first night in Burford and so pleased that we did. The pub felt comfortable, the staff were great and the food excellent…..especially the pie!
Everything went well, the service was 1st class and was very flexible in terms of minor alterations to the chosen dishes.
From the moment we walked in the door (and were warmly greeted by the staff), this was a great experience. The food was outstanding, varied and beautifully presented. Strongly recommended.
Our table felt a little crammed in between 2 larger tables and consequently felt dominated by their conversations/chatter. As for the food, the pork was good, but the beef was particularly poor - tough and flavourless. We both found the gravy extremely salty.
Great service. Lovely pie. Super sticky toffee pud. Cosy atmosphere
Great service, great pies and great ale what’s not to like!
Excellent food, very good service, meal presented in good time and the staff were attentive throughout. I thoroughly recommend this pub/restaurant.
Charming and welcoming members of staff, excellently presented food, generous servings, great atmosphere and lighting. We will certainly come again ! One of the best Sunday lunches we have had locally.
Lived up to expectations. The food and service were amazing. Thankyou
Very impressed from first freindly greeting on arrival. Table was ready, the menu is wery good pub grub. Two of us had brocolli and stilton soup starters from the specials board, which was excellent Three of us had pies from the main menu, all agreed they were exceptional in the quality of the pastry and the generous fillings.
very good, no issues, thank you very much, would recommend.
Great pies. Wasn't very busy but was a Monday lunchtime.
All agreed that the meal was very good and we couldn’t fault the quality, service, value and atmosphere. Thanks to all involved for a lovely dinner and afternoon.
