Lovely welcome and plentiful, flavoursome food. Atmosphere is convivial with a good range of ciders!

Absolutely lovely pie - brisket and pepper sauce. Had to wait a little as it was obviously cooked to order. Would definitely have it again.

The welcome was very warm and inviting. When we were shown our table we noticed the little sign congratulating us on our anniversary. A sweet little note from the Royal Oak team. The food was heavenly. The pie was exquisite, the best I have ever tasted. And the risotto, which my wife had, was exceptional. We then had dessert which was just as heavenly. A massive thank you to all the team at The Royal Oak. It topped off our 25th anniversary beautifully. THANK YOU 😊

We love this pub, we took my Mum for her 89th birthday but completely ruined by VERY unruly children screaming and running through the pub.

A dismal, dark annexe room to the cosy bar is not inviting. Food was average.

The hosts gave a great service and the food was excellant and good value

We booked a table well in advance and when we arrived there was no other diners, we were put in a dark room off the side of the bar on our own up a corner with ghastly lighting it was very dark and sad looking we mentioned and questioned this to the staff we did not want to sit in a room on our own but we were not offered the main room with the fire. We mentioned it on several occasions but just left to stay in the room. Its a shame as the food was good and it spoiled the evening. The bench seating is also too high and very uncomfortable.

Lovely pub and friendly and helpful staff. The menu had a good choice of dishes but having a pie menu was the clincher to booking a table hear. The steak and Ale pie with mash and veg was amazing and a great potion too . I would definitely recommend eating hear .
