Excellent food, great ambiance and the service is very good considering it's a brand new restaurant. Definitely going back again soon. Try the tasting menu to get a good idea of the food

Overall the food was okay, not anything that particularly blew me away. Though I did like the drinks. The service was a bit slow since we actually had to wait a while for our orders (both drinks and main courses) to arrive. However, this was something the waiter did point out to us upon ordereing to give us a proper heads up because of their high guest capacity.

Have been here several times, the food is magnificent, the service great but I get irritated being phoned to confirm the order and being reminded I need to leave by a certain time, and then getting to restaurant and being reminded I need to leave by a certain time... even after visiting several times ....and I do leave within my slot! Will definitely be back though, the rib eye is the best I've had...

The food was as excellent as we remembered, possibly even better. The service is the pinnacle of attentive and even the other guests were charming and friendly.

Food was delicious and service standard was great, despite the restaurant being fully booked that day for lunch. One of the most enjoyable lunches I have had in a long time.

Enjoyed our fairly short stay except for very noisy group in the bar which disrupted conversation. Excellent Happy Hour offer on both drinks and food.

Both the bar and restaurant had great vibes. Service was excellent especially in the restaurant. Attentive, helpful, knowledgable and professional. It's usually those 'little' touches of service that make a difference... giving a small glass of white to go with the Oysters when we had ordered red and bringing the signature dessert although we didn't order dessert. Would definitely recommend and return. Thank you!

Funky setting in Wan Chai offering a delicious lunch semi-buffet with a range of options for main course. The skillet is highly recommended and the cheese cake for dessert is an absolute must!

Went for a small gathering and everyone thought that the Food was amazing and well priced, but grabbing the attention of the staff was abit difficult and made the experience a little sour.

Food is good, but very noisy place, even noisier than a packed Chinese dim sum restaurant . Buffet selection not too much but the main course (steak for 2) was awesome. May be try dinner next time

great atmosphere. Food very good although on the pricey side. E.g. 250 HKD for chicken is way too high and starters around 130HKD. Service in the restaurant was excellent. A little slow in the bar beforehand. Overall a good location and ambiance for dining with friends.

Great food and excellent service - delicious tapas to start followed by some amazing chateaubriand beef. Simple, good quality and well cooked. Wine selection was pretty good and not overpriced. Service was really excellent

Poor service. Booked from Quandoo for sat lunch. The waitress told me they only serve 'brunch menu' on Sat & Sun. Costing $348 each not include drinks and food not worth and so so. During the meal, the waitress kept asking me to order the next food as I think it is not polite, very disturbing and are we having 1 hr buffet? More angry is, when we left, the lady at front desk told us they also serve 'a la cate' at GF but I picked Brunch menu when I did the booking from here!! I told her there is no choice when i did the reservation, but she seems that not believe me and told me every customers selected Brunch menu during reservation!!! So funny!!! Never again! Nice decor, (downstairs only) But for others, disappointed.

Great food. Attentive host. But must reserve, otherwise no table. Booked for drinks at the bar before dinner, unfortunately so full that we had to go somewhere else for drinks.

Nice and cosy place for dinner. We occupied the round table near the entrance which is good, not too noisy. Happy hour deal & food overall was great, except the oysters - not juicy & tasty, and the eggplant fries was too fried up lacking the eggplant taste.

Excellent food and service upstairs. I recommend the tasting menu. Ambience is very good too with good space between tables. Downstairs cocktails a little slow.

The service and staff were excellent . The food was average and the menu lacked imagination and lacked options . The atmosphere was good but felt a little rushed to be out before the next sitting .

We had the Peruvian menu. Very different and delicious. Service is excellent. Will definitely go back for the Spanish menu. Great downstairs bar for pre drinks.

Friendly and attentive service. Waiters do not hard sell. We ignored advice on having ordered too much and the waiter was right. Authentic and delicious food, pricey but comes with good portions. Family and children friendly.

It was my husband's birthday and we had a great time in Optimist! Perfect food and service. They arranged a birthday plate for a extra dessert. Very thoughtful! I am really happy I chose optimist!!

The buffet brunch here is one of the best. The food is fantastic and the staff are incredible. So friendly, so helpful, so tentative...you can not fault them. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. We will continue to go back.

Food and service was very good, pitty we were arranged to sit next to the salad bar and I had to move my chair eveytime other guests walked passed me. Hope I can have a better table on my next visit.

Excellent food, fantastic decor and very good service. Minor quibble is that it took twenty minutes for our bill to arrive. I noted my girlfriends peanut allergy and they asked about this upon arrival- very impressed with the personal touch and service.

Food are okay. Service was excellent. The decoration is beautiful. We had a great time and surely will be back again for their cocktails and happy hour.

Octopus - Great flavor but the octopus was a bit soggy and soaking in oil Fried eggplant - Sounded great but the eggplant really soaks up the oil Steak - Too salty and oily; side of grilled vegetables again oily Maybe it was because of the ordering everything felt too oily.... For some reason they didn't seem to get my reservation either

The service need to be improved as there are few dishes been missing out after ordered. However, the dishes are more hot instead of warm would be preferred.

Delicious Northern Spanish food, friendly outgoing and attentive staff. The sea bass, padron peppers and chargrilled veggies were fabulous. We will definitely go back there!

Great food Went with medium size group and was just about right to enjoy variety of dishes including meat and seafood dishes. Loved the decor and the atmosphere.

I had the charcoal grilled steak in medium rare and it was really good, the steak was juicy and soft. And I had a salmon salad, which was pretty nice as well, and the apple pie had the best vanilla sauce I've ever tasted. The service was pretty ok, the staff were friendly.

The food was absolute fantastic. The waiter was extremely good with his dish recommendations. However, I would have like more attentive service from the servers. Not exactly their fault, more an issue with under-staff.

Not the cheapest place but the food was great. Serving staff not super prompt but very nice and helpful once you got them. Enjoyed the meal overall!

Restaurant with very good atmosphere especially at he bar area on the ground floor where one should have a drink before the dining experience which was satisfactory although I expected a little better cooking skills for the main dish, dessert was superb.

Had my birthday dinner there. Amazing food, friendly staff and nice interior. I will definitely be back to try out some other delicious dishes from the menu!

Terrific food and ambience, and some nice choices of wine as usual. Been several times before but the - normally excellent - service was sub par last night. Will still go again though.

It's extremely rare to find a restaurant that can scores extremely high marks in its ambience, character, overall service, and of course, it's culinary experience. The Optimist is the one I found in HK. I just spent 2 weeks in the Iberian Penisula few months ago, having a whale of a time enjoying the best the Spaniards and the Portuguese can offer. Then again, The Optimist offers the same and more in a much refined fashion. I'm not going to spoil your surprise describing all the goodies in the tasting Manu we tried, suffice it to say, every single course is a gem. The service? It's rare that I gave 200% tips as acknowledgement, but the entire staff deserves it.

Nice brunch with big selections - semi buffet brunch. Great drinks. However it doesn't open until 12pm but the app allowed us to book for 11am.

Nice exotic interior. Great food, especially like the broken egg and the charcoal grilled steak. Service is very attentive and non-obtrusive. Would definitely go again, and recommend to friends.

Good food, great service from managers. The dishes rival the best Spanish restaurants in northern Spain. The steaks are fantastic. The ambience is great for business or pleasure.

Great atmosphere on this new restaurant in Wanchai with very friendly and helpful staff who are keen to explain the menu options. Good Pinot Grigio to complement a variety of Tapas to make a good vale meal for our group.

Great choice of salads and appetizer for the semi-buffet lunch. The seabass is definitely recommended for sharing and other main dishes like ribs and octopus were equally nicely done. I'll order the flan again for dessert

The Bar was really busy when we arrived at 7.30 for a pre dinner drink, it had a great atmosphere and great French Martini's. The food upstairs was yummy, the starters are big, and good for sharing. Unfortunately it took a long time for our main to come, however when it did the Steak was really really good. Then back down stairs to try out the wide range of Gin & Tonics. I'll be back again ...

Great service, pleasant food and casual restaurant, but found it hard to have a nice chat with my friends as the music is quite loud.

Very scrumptious brunch on a Saturday. Service was friendly and attentive. Ambiance was relaxing. Brenda and Nil were very helpful. They were very accommodating with any special request. It is a great place to have gathering with family or friends.
