We had a table with a view of the lake. Everything was very clean and lots of space between tables. I had salmon which was absolutely delicious. The rest of the family had the steak pie and gammon - all very happy. We pre ordered so didn't have to wait at all. Staff were super friendly and using the right ppe. I'd highly recommend this restaurant!

Well our reservation in the restaurant was moved to the bar because the Newby Bridge Hotel had a coach party arrive who decided they wanted to book / take over the whole restaurant so walked across the road to the Swan for a fantastic meal !!! BTW there was no prior warning !!! Management at there poorest !!! Check out my trip adviser post "SilverFox".....

Friendly service and reasonable prices. Went on a Sunday and although there was a carvery on we went for the specials. We'll be definitely eating here again. We used the Meercat offer and had no problems.

Fantastic food, great space and will definitely go again when we are next up here. The three young children were well looked after (we chose to sit in the inn rather than garden room with them!). Highly recommend.

The Sunday carvery was fine when we finally got it, but poorly organised and slow. The staff were lovely, but we had to wait in line for about 20 mins, if not longer. One member of catering staff only on the carvery station, finally got to service, served the meat, then realised the veg all needed replenishing, so did stuffing and gravy, slow and no one helping. Then waited over half an hour for pudding, very nice, but far too long to wait. We weren’t charged for our late puddings, but not the point. Shame.

Visited the Garden Restaurant at the Newby Bridge Hotel with my wife for a wedding anniversary celebration. The restaurant has been recently refurbished creating a wonderful atmosphere. The service was brilliant staff very pleasant and attentive. Best of all the food was outstanding. My wife went so far as to comment that it was her very best meal experience in al.ost 40 years of marriage.

The bar food was great. Thanks for the stay and the Guinness. Wish there weren’t so many stairs up to the room. We’ll be back and ask for a 1st floor room.

The food was excellent but the room was poor, an annexe room which smelt of damp, was dark and badly lit. We had problems with flies in the bathroom which had a badly fitting window. Having stayed previously at this hotel and had a very nice room in the main building we were very disappointed particularly as the room wasn't cheap. Also very noisy early morning with delivery lorries.

Don't go on a Sunday unless you're happy with just five choices, absolutely disgraceful compared to the advertised menu on-line. Would give 0 if I could.

Menu had limited choice about 4 or 5 per course but having said that was designed that there was something to majority of tastes. This was the second night that we dined there and the menu was different each night. All dishes selected in our party of 4 were well received.

Restaurant menu has limited selection. One can order from Bar Menu in the restaurant; this should be made clearer to diners. Quality of food was good. Why not combine the two menus to create the restaurant menu? Avoid Room 1 as it is next to the door at top of stairs; talking outside, as people come and go to their rooms, can disturb room 1 late at night and early morning, especially if you are a light sleeper.

Sunday lunch carvery- food choice and standard was poor. starter is cold buffet limited choice and not replenished frequently so have to time it well. main course, turkey on menu not available, pork was not completely cooked, beef was gristly. gravy left oil slick on plate. desserts were measly portions, there was barely a teaspoon full of ice cream. won't return

Great food, lovely surprising starter that was very tasty. Carvery, meats succulent and cooked well. Only 4 choices of veggies, would have preferred a greater selection. Very helpful and friendly staff. Would return again for Sunday carvery

Pleasant hotel which is very dog friendly. Pool sauna and jacuzzi very welcome and 'gym' useful though cramped. Food fine though as we were eating in the bar area (with dog) didn't experience the dining room. Good range of wines and beers.

Helpful & pleasant staff. Menu choice varied & tasty. Could do with turning down the lighting in the evening. Could do with a better choice of background music than disco.

Snug bar for drinks and a good menu in the restaurant with the desserts a highlight - wines are well priced and the service very friendly and overall a good evening out (well in as we were staying there too!)
