Excellent service, very polite & friendly staff. All our food was well presented and the portions were plentiful. Today’s soup - Broccoli & Stilton - was very tasty. Might miss out the starter and leave room for a desert next time.

Lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. Food was great, really nice. Main course arrived straight after we'd finished the starter which was a little too quick for me to be honest! But hey that's just me, some people might like that. Reasonably priced drinks which was a big plus. Staff could maybe have been a bit friendlier but all in all a great night and would definitely return.

The venue, food and staff were all fine. However, when we arrived for our reservation, we were told that we could be served quickly if we went for the carvery, but there would be a half hour delay on other meals. Ten minutes later, when they took our order, we were informed that the delay had now grown to an hour. We ordered... the starter arrived in around 15 minutes, and main course after 51 minutes. Quicker than warned, but really still very slow. The difficulty seems to be one of not knowing before the evening how many customers would opt for the carvery, and how many would select from the menu. They really do need to look at the way this is managed.

The service was good. An excellent carvery with three choices of meat and plenty of different types of vegetable. The choice of sweets was good - standard menu choices plus very good value specials from the chiller. Excellent value.

Lovely pub in Bourn heath, always very popular. You need to reserve a table. This is a small bar area for drinking if you don't want food or you can eat in there, but the restaurant is very nice. The food is excellent and great value for money.

The atmosphere was very relaxed and the service was excellent. All the staff in the restaurant were friendly, attentive and very professional. The meals were very good and served piping hot.. The house red wine was very palatable. We had the table for two hours so there was no sense of being rushed and sat after the meal and had a couple more drinks. A very good night out.

Staff friendly and professional. Would have give a score of 6 but they have changed their gorgeous chips to thick boring ones you can buy frozen from supermarkets. Otherwise rest of food cooked well, tasty and good value.

Food superb as always! I took a friend who was visiting from Torquay, we arrived about 15 mins early, and were shown straight to our table. Staff very friendly and efficient. The only gripe unfortunately our table was right in a corner with one other table which was very close ( we might as well have all been on the same table!) the occupants on the next table were all very loud talking about their various illnesses, and doctors appointments etc. I know that’s not the fault of of the restaurant, and fortunately they left before we had finished, so we did get some respite, but thought it worth a mention

I would usually say 6/6 but we were a bit disappointed with the beef which usually melts in your mouth but last night it was dry and a bit tough. Delphine potatoes also a bit dry last night . Overall , still a good place to eat .

Love going here. Usually fantastic. Not the greatest this time. Vegetables (normally outstanding) not quite up to normal standard: roast potatoes almost burnt, parsnips dried out and carrots very dry. We had to ask for replacements. In fairness they were replaced fairly quickly. Will still go again.

First evening service at 6. Table booked for 6. Had to wait for doors to open as we always arrive a little early. Getting a drink in the bar area took 20 minutes. Souls have extra staff on to accommodate when something going on outside/bar area. Regulars get served fairly quick. Vegetables were luke warm. Chairs dirty.

Booked a table for two as a treat for my wife after recovering from surgery, so wanted it to cheer her up it certainly did. We arrived a little early and sat in the garden area, which was in the shade (hot day) and very pleasent. When the Nailer's opened, we went in and were seated immediately, drinks came within a minute of so and the starters were not far behind. Had a carvery, which was great and plentiful and just managed to find space for an ice cream. A really good time out with great food and drink, with pleasant staff and surroundings.
