Very nice food and atmosphere with friendly service and pleasant setting.would recommend to anyone who wants a traditional pub with up to date food and drink
Friendly place and good traditional food. Good selection of beers in a very historic pub. Need to book though! This is my 'local' but not a place you can eat on the spur of the moment...
Lovely, atmospheric restaurant upstairs. Service was very friendly and attentive and food was great. Fantastic pub - we will definitely be going back there again.
Excellent meal, excellent service, friendly and relaxing pub and was great to pop in for a drink at the end of the day, will definitely go there again when we next visit London 😊👍🏻
Excellent food, great drinks - good range of beers and well-made cocktails. Lovely atmosphere. Perfect place for a Sunday roast with family or friends. Highly recommended!
Excellently efficient and friendly customer service from Fatima in the Mayflower restaurant simply cannot be faulted. Compliments to the chef too - my wife and I enjoyed three courses apiece from the varied main menu, and enjoyed every well prepared and presented mouthful. Atmospheric surroundings on the banks of the Thames, which are steeped in history. I have no hesitation in recommending - we'll be back with a bigger group in future!
Always very friendly service and the pub has a great amosphere. The food is always reliable and excellent value - I always take friends there!
We needed an historic Public House in London to entertain our Daughter from South Africa and the Mayflower came up to expectations in every way.
The food was great, the staff was friendly and the ambient was nice.
The view from the restaurant is great. The food is not so great. I had steak (good), chips (not fresh cut) and an additional peppercorn sauce (disgusting - couldn't eat).
Amazing place, great food, service and view. Would definitely recommend and go back. Lots of quirky features, nice for just a drink or food in the restaurant upstairs
Very nice and cozy place, tried the sunday roast and loved it. Food was a bit slow to come but I guess it was because we were there at 12:00 sharp. Service very friendly. Will go back!
Excellent food as always at the Mayflower, one of my favourite pubs in London. It's cosy and has a great atmosphere and is in the lovely area of Rotherhithe village. Service was pretty good despite it being a busy night. You must book a table here if you want to eat, especially on Friday night as they are always busy. I'm not giving it a top rating as unfortunately one of the waitresses was rude and snappy with us when we asked if we could order, which was a real shame as we come to this pub very regularly.
This is a unique venue. Atmosphere, beautiful river views, attentive staff and really good wholesome food and real ale.It is great for parties and also brilliant for a small romantic dinner . The atmospheric lighting and stunning location make it a must visit for south of the river.
We had a late lunch last Saturday for a group of seven. I enjoyed a starter of perfectly cooked scallops followed by a tasty steak and Guinness pie with nicely crunchy veg and chips. The service was casual but friendly and the whole offering provided good value for money. My only complaint was that we were made to vacate the table at 16:00 even though it was clear that no-one else needed it - I got the feeling that they just wanted us out so they could put their feet up.
We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner at the Mayflower. The atmosphere and the service were great. The potatoes and the veggies were a bit undercooked, but overall it was a nice evening.
We had an excellent meal, fruendly service we will certainly return, everyone made us so very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.thank you ti all the staff.
Meal was excellent as usual, with good service and a lovely view. What more can one ask for? Only caveat was that some of the tables were really crammed in, making it next to impossible for anyone to leave certain tables to go to the washrooms. That said, it was a great evening.
Food was very nice. Sundays are quit busy so make sure you book a table otherwise can get disappointed. Also they do have very nice terrace with heating so you can enjoy drinks outside.
I always enjoy going to the Mayflower for a drink or a meal. This time we went for a Thanksgiving meal (I am American) and the food was very good but a bit scarce. I was hoping for a bigger portion of stuffing and maybe some mashed sweet potatoes and creamed spinach, but all in all the meal was very good.
Amazing food and service as always! Sat in the pub downstairs first to have a mulled wine (amazing), great atmosphere in that place and I'll be back again!
Wonderful food and great, old, dark atmosphere. This is what me and my fiancé had always imagined that proper British pub would look like. Our favourite pub-restaurant in London!
Eat here regularly, great pub with good atmosphere, staff are always friendly and willing to ensure your dining experience is good. There is a good selection of food to choose from cooked well and they cater for smaller portions as required for little people. What's not to like?
We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner at the Mayflower. The atmosphere and the service were great. The potatoes and the veggies were a bit undercooked, but overall it was a nice evening.
We went to the Mayflower at Sunday evening 6.30 pm and food was mostly sold out. What we got was ok, but other Pubs are mote worth visiting. Service not to complimentary. Although they were not sold out, we were not asked for more drinks.
Great atmosphere, good friendly prompt service and delicious food. Have been before and never disappoints. Thoroughly reccommend this place but book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
We arrived late but the staff was very accommodating, dinner staff super friendly and very nice food. The Pub has a truly rustic and local atmosphere.
Best pub in London for food, beer, atmosphere and friendly staff. Never had a bad meal here, the service is second to none and the location is amazing!
We had a great lunch time at the Mayflower. We were a party of three, all had Sunday roast in different flavours. Portions are huge but they were all delicious. I liked you can take a printout with the info about the pub's history and read while they bring the food. Waitresses are really nice. Totally recommend!
Amazing pies & Sunday roasts. Sat upstairs in the restaurant, really nice in the evening because they light lots of candles. Will definitely return to the Mayflower
Excellent service - waitress were very welcoming. Very cosy and warm pub. average beef and pork Sunday roast, the lamb was way more tasty. On the other hand the dessert (pudding and crumble) were very nice and well presented
Very nice ambiance, full of young people and although our group of 4 had an a erage age of 60 we felt at home. Staff very professional took our orders without notes and then remembered exactly who ordered what. Food very traditional English, but very well cooked and presented. Will certainly go again. Great place to take visitors to London.
I dined with a friend, and we had main courses only due to time constraints. Food good though, in my case, with an excessive amount of gravy - a failing I have criticised before. Service efficient enough, though stretched by a sudden influx of customers.
The place is very nice and cosy and with a beautiful view of The thames. The food is good and also the selection of beers. The staff is friendly.
An excellent combination of good friendly service, satisfying well prepared and served food, building history and charisma and lovely atmosphere. I would just suggest to go a bit more risky on your menu.
Lovely dickensian setting. Knowledgable staff and delicious food. Quite reasoanable for the area and food quality. Will definitely return. Cheeseboard was outstanding. Try the Malbac.
You really go for the history of the place. Very busy with tourists on a summer evening and hardly any room on the deck outside. We booked a tables upstairs. Food OK. Very strange warm potted shrimps swimming in greasy melted butter - tasted fine but not what I expect from potted shrimps. We asked the waitress and she said that they were at 'room temperature' - must have been a very hot room that they came from! Nice piece of calves liver submerged in large quantities of dark brown gravy which ruined the dish.
This place has a very good atmosphere, we didn't order food but we had some wine and cheese. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
We have never been disappointed with The Mayflower having been there several times with family and friends from both France and the USA. The service is excellent and the pies outstanding, I still can't make up my mind which is the most delicious! I can't wait to have another reason to make a new booking.
Very nice' Friendly and appealing. Especially nice on "blackout Sunday's" when the whole place is lit by candlelight, just as it would have been 500 years ago.
Friendly service, prompt seating, good food, speedy table service, great location, good looking venue, good beer selection. I would choose to dine at this pub again.
We went there for dinner. The pub down below was extremely busy and had a great atmosphere. The restaurant itself was very busy. Still the staff let us take our time and were very friendly. The food was a mixed. Still, I would recommend this place to just have a good time with family/friends.
My companion and I both had a main course and dessert. All four dishes were good to very good. As usual, service was friendly and efficient.
Really enjoyable atmosphere and lovely food, definitely one of my favourite pubs in London
Five of us booked for a 12.30pm lunch. Seated at 12.30 and a very polite and pleasant young lady took our order for drinks and food as soon as we were ready. Everything tasty and well presented. No hurrying and a very enjoyable and relaxing time. Couldn't really fault anything, so many thanks to the young lady and all the staff.
Great atmosphere;lovely food in the upstairs room.what a pity that Sunday Roast, fish&chips and all you really would like to eat are not gluten free.
I will highly recommend this restaurant because of the good atmosphere and service, and its beautiful location at the Thames. The food was really good and the restaurant is nice and cosy.
Great Sunday roast (generous portions, huge Yorkshires!) in an historic riverside pub. Pleasant staff & service, busy vibe (particularly in downstairs bar). Well worth a visit.
Tasty fish and chips and great service in the restaurant tonight! So many tempting options on the specials board too! Followed by a lovely sunset on the terrace.
great location. always full , oozing history. Just across road from Brunel museum [try a cocktail there from the Apothecary Garden before crossing to the Mayflower. Mayflower has good food, good ambience, good service - what's not to like?
Busy local pub that is right on the river. Friendly staff who were polite, helpful and provided just the right amount of attention. A great find, we will be back.
