Fab time meeting friends here - great choice of lovely food in a really cool setting. Staff are great - well informed and helpful. I had one (of the wide selection) of pies and it was great.
Wonderful, quiet, romantic restaurant. Just lovely. Would recommend to anyone in this area. Staff super friendly and the food is incredible - pub food style but very good.
An enjoyable evening with old friends. The bar area was rammed but the restaurant was well laid out and roomy. Excellent service. Food was average
Good food though some of the sauces were less tasty than they used to be. Good atmosphere, always very busy and lively. A good night out.
Enjoyed Sunday roast here on a visit from Toronto, but definitely not our first time in London! Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere can't be beat - very warm and historic. The neighbourhood is also great - trees, quiet streets, the Brunel Museum next door, the Thames just outside... plus only a couple minutes north of Rotherhithe rail station. Easy access from Canada Water on the Jubilee line. Now for the food! Choice of meat for the roast was a first for us - and a welcome one at that! We had Somerset pork and lamb instead of the usual beef and they were cooked fabulously, but of special note were the seasonings and the gravy. Other places we've tried under-seasoon the meat to the effect of leaving it almost naked-tasting. Here, it tastes as good on its own as well as with gravy! I also have to praise the potatoes - taste, texture.. top notch. There's a lot to love on a tried-and-true dish that suggests other things on the menu are just as good! Onion rings were good (housemade) and their sticky toffee pudding was out of this world, although it was our first so we can't compare just yet. Overall, a fantastic pub in a great quiet neighbourhood that is a must-try for those who have eaten downtown and want to see what they've been missing outside the tourist traps. Why not make a day of it and check out Greenwich Park afterwards? You'll want the hike, and the sunset from high up on the hill is sublime.
The dood very good and the service too. I tried sunday roast and a cheescake. All very very goog Location is wonderful. You can see the Thames during lunch! :-)
Excellent food and service in a beautiful pub, will define lay return! We visit all the local famous pubs and this was the best yet!
Very nice all round - food (Sunday roast), service and ambience. Had lovely table in dining room upstairs then went for drink after downstairs. Recommended.
Great spot and excellent service. We ate late (2.30pm start) so the slightly overdone roast and not too crispy Yorkshires were forgiveable. We will keep going back.
Pleasant meal of gastro pub food on the banks Thames. Good beer, good food, good atmosphere. Worth the stop. Close to the Rothertithe overground station, easy to get to without a vehicle.
Good food, friendly staff, great atmosphere in this gorgeous historic pub in a peaceful part of the river. It was very busy on a warm Tuesday night so think about booking ahead if you want to eat.
Visited this restaurant for the second time and was lucky to find it wasn't totally packed and very noisy. Food and service were excellent and with such a wonderful setting, it was a very enjoyable experience.
Great bar and even better restaurant. Perfect London feel in a cozy neighborhood very easy to reach from anywhere in the city. Do get a reservation for the restaurant, starts slow but filled up quickly.
My friends and I visit quite often never let down with the quality of the food and the service always first class staff friendly and attentive extremely good value
Lovely Lamb Roast Dinner and bake well tart! View from restaurant upstairs over the thanks is awesome on a sunny day 😊 Fantastic pub quiz on a Tuesday!
The mayflower is a picture perfect pub on the Thames. Great views, lovely staff and fabulous food. The fish and chips are a must. Great wine choices too.
The Mayflower is a wonderful experience all round. A beautiful old pub steeped in history, great friendly staff and wonderful food. I would highly recommend it.
The Mayflower is a real gem - historic pub, decking that goes out over the Thames (with outdoor heaters, blankets & water bottles so it's still good in winter!), nice range of beers, and a decent pub quiz. I'm going back there tonight!
nice place with great river view. My family loved it and the food too ;-) Although not a special kids menu it was good to bring my 4 year old as well.
Amazing place, amazing food and amazing service!! The waiter had an amazing way to treat us!
Great pub. Genuine English pub with history on your doorstep. The staff were friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend for an afternoon or evening visit
I am a regular visitor to the "Mayflower". On this occasion, I had chicken Kiev, with salad; and my companion had a vegetarian platter. Both were fine, though I would rate my salad as a little uninteresting. Also, the bread with the vegetarian platter was not as good as the rest of the meal. For dessert I had cherry Bakewell, with clotted cream, which was excellent. Service friendly and obliging though, unusually, a little slow on this occasion.
Very difficult to travel there but once we got there, everything was perfect. Food was lovely and service was very friendly. The setting was superb!
A lovely traditional pub tucked away in a lovely part of town with views of the thames. Great service and cracking house beer! Will definitely be back again for the Fish and Chips!
Had a very enjoyable dinner from the overflowing bowl of mussels through to the sticky toffee pudding via a beautifully cooked sea bream, everything was delicious. And I haven't even mentioned the wine and buzzy atmosphere.
Beautiful, historic pub, lovely and attentive service, delicious food. A great lunch with a special atmosphere, an experience which will soon be repeated to try the sunday roast
Great food, good service, it would have been nicer to have been sat downstairs rather than upstairs though, the view is better from the ground
Nice old pub. We have been many times before, however, on this ocassion the food was disappointing. But the staff are lovely, vies over the river made up for it.
The food was quite exceptional, on a par with the other meals I've had. However, this outing only gets a four as whilst still eating we were asked to move tables to make way for a group had hadn't booked a table. The member of staff was very polite etc when asking and didn't charge us for our desert, but to be honest having to move half through a meal was a little embarrassing and shouldn't have happened.
First time in the dining room upstairs. The service was warm despite the busy room and there was a nice buzz to the restaurant. Food is robust, comforting pub food - exactly what I needed/ wanted. Recommended.
The second time I've been to the Mayflower, and on each occasion I have been most pleased. The food is of a very high standard, the staff are friendly and attentive - and I'm an absolute sucker for the (genuine) olde-worlde setting!
Absolutely fantastic food and location. Let down slightly by the rushed service (and didn't clear the table between starter and main so it got a bit cluttered), and it is quite stuffy upstairs. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic Sunday lunch! The Mayflower is a glorious little gem tucked alongside the River Thames. The food was excellent. Great traditional Sunday roasts, all home cooked with best quality ingredients plus plenty of other choices too. The service was prompt and friendly. We will be going back very soon!
We love the mayflower! We go all the time and take our friends. Can't wait to have another excuse to go again! Excellent food. Wonderful
We simply love the mayflower. We always come back, is a comforting and pleasant ritual. Amazing food, lovely location, fantastic atmosphere! We love eating in the restaurant at the first floor, but we also really enjoy eating in the pub downstairs!
Staff are very friendly and efficient. Food are good, the French Fries were slightly undercooked, but okay. It was nice to be in an old building overlooking the Zthames
We came from Japan. We were recommended this Pub by English friend. The Mayflower is excellent. We want to come here again. Thanks, the Mayflower!
One of the best roast dinners in London whilst also being in great surrounding, with lots of history. Excellent wine selection and lovely desserts too!
The Mayflower is a mad eclectic old building with a proper pub feel, proper ale and great straightforward food served at incredible speed by lovely energetic staff. Thank you.
Quaint and charming. Good service, good food. We all ordered the delicious fish & chips and tried the desserts. Libations were tops. Would come again with friends and family. Love the history, too!
Fantastic food in a wonderful setting. Beautiful river views, a great selection of ales, and stupendous service and attention to detail. The Americans also loved it.
We are frequent visitors to the Mayflower, and this is our goto spot to bring visitors to London for a proper Sunday Roast. Highly recommended.
Amazing staff, the food is really good, the atmosphere really nice, good beers, beautiful views. What else do we need? :-) We will definitely come back
We had a great time at this restaurant. We arrived a bit late but the waitress was super helpful and enabled us to order ahead to have dessert as the kitchen was closing. The view was amazing across the Thames, food was great and the atmosphere of the pub was lovely, the bill even came in a little treasure chest. Highly recommend, can't wait to visit again next time in London.
Great riverside pub serving the best Sunday roast on the shores! This is one of the oldest pubs on the river with a heritage like no other ( the Mayflower sailing ) steeped in history this small pub manages to serve some of the best food any pub can offer, couple this with he good choice of beers and wines and most of al friendly front of house staff and you have a winning combination for a great experience.
Went on the recommendation of my brother. Full of history, nice atmosphere. Great river views. Food was really tasty, just the right portion size. Friendly staff. Looking forward to visiting again.
Great pub, with a nice view from the terrace on the river. I like the atmosphere and the food. Vegetarian and gluten free meal available. I will go again.
Great food, great setting. Lovely views of the river in a quaint pub setting. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cute meal together
Lovely table upstairs with open windows and view of the Thames. Good range of choice on the menu and the food was fresh, hot and well presented. Would definitely go again and would highly recommend.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Only dark note is the noise... for some reason I always end up next to a noisy group, which gives me always head ache.
