First visit to the Legh Arms. Highly recommend, great service and fine food set in a lovely old pub with great atmosphere. We had the steak night special, two steaks and a bottle of wine £25 exellent value.
The service was really slow, especially for such a quiet time. We were told that the pie of the day was beef and ale, but the server said he’d check with the kitchen. He didn’t but we asked before ordering and were told that it was. When it came, it was chicken! Apart from that, the food was good.
Food was decent (not enough toast for the pate). The service, however, was incredibly slow. It wasn’t busy, but we had to go to the bar to get drinks twice and the wait for the order to be taken was around 20 mins, then 20 mins plus before the starter arrived. The staff were all perfectly pleasant, just not attentive. It’s a lovely place and the company was excellent so we had a good time. Just need to sort out their service.
The food was nice but expensive for the potion size you receive. They need to be larger portion sizes on the main menu. The Sunday lunch looked a better portion size but the Blacked Salmon & Parma Ham stuffed Chicken was tiny portions.
I have had nicer meals here which would normally warrant a score of more than 4. This time the beef bourguinon could have done with a couple more hours in the oven. Very chewy when it should fall to pieces in the mouth. The other meals were fine. It is a pleasant environment and the service is good. And the prices are acceptable for Prestbury.
Great atmosphere and laid back staff. Thought the food was OK but not worth £14.99 for beef stew, mash and broccoli. Having said that I would go again. Thanks.
Very poor service and meal was also poor - nothing like the pub of old which is a real shame so will not be back
Traditional pub, traditional food, really enjoyed our visit...also Prestbury is such a nice place to look round. If you want a drive out for Sunday lunch, you can do no better.
Food very pub grub style-wasn’t inspired by the menu. Food was perfectly cooked and waiting staff lovely but really looking for something a bit more.
The food we had was excellent, me and my wife had the hake which was cooked beauitfully. For the dessert we had the prestbury mess, which was just divien.
Menu changed and really nothing I wanted so very disappointed used to be so good but it was empty ! I’ll not go again sadly
Very good food and always a pleasure to visit this pub when in town
Went for Mother’s Day a big table and it was very good
Excellent food, my ribeye was delicious... . alas some choices not available, but it was Sunday afternoon so that can sometimes happens. Staff were friendly too.
A fabulous Sunday lunch with a good variety of different vegetables on offer. Lovely atmosphere and quick service. Will definitely be going again and highly recommend.
More than likely we eat at the Legh when in prestbury village. Although we have enjoyed meals at the other restaurants there. The food is of a high standard and reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and professional in their attendance. Like it. John
Great pub with really good food and wonderful atmosphere. Although it was very busy, the staff were still very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Service was slow, we had to look for staff to place orders, we ordered two different glasses of white wine and the waitress didn’t know which was which and the food wasn’t as good as usual.
Celebrating a 40th birthday, staff were very helpful and friendly, food was really great too! Made the day very special, we would definitely visit again.
Had a great variety of selections and really nice food. Average service but great experience overall. Nice beer selection and average priced for the location.
The food was average and in some cases over cooked (eg the Yorkshire pudding). We have had far better eating experiences at this restaurant in the past.
Waitress bringing first drinks dropped a half of lager from a tray on to the table. The glass broke & the lager went all over me and my new dress. I was soaked & hate beer smells anyway
We had a excellent meal at the Leigh Arms, the service was excellent and the food was excellent to. The waitress was very friendly and helpful.
Love this place! Family and child friendly. You cannot get a Sunday Roast like this anywhere else. Desserts are inventive and new. Children are made so welcome. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lovely vibe and atmosphere exactly what a pub should be like with the fires and all warm and cosey. Very lucky to have a place like this in our village. Couldnt rate this place highly enough.
Very good. We went for our 40th wedding anniversary and the menu, food and ambience ticked all the boxes. My only (minor) criticism is that the table we were allocated was very poorly lit so it was hard reading the menu and, more importantly, seeing the food and a major factor in the enjoyment of food is its appearance. Thank heavens for the light on my phone. It wasn't cheap but was good value for money. Generically I would classify it as a gastro-pub but it is definitely an upmarket gastro-pub with commensurate prices. The food justified the prices.
It's a lovely friendly restaurant in a nice pub...in the middle of Prestbury.Staff are great.....menu is comprehensive and not excessive price wise..We will be back without a doubt.
Great service and lovely laid back feel. Food was amazing and they did a vegetarian option for the roast for me that was not on the menu. Only critique- Not many vegetarian options otherwise and one of them in the veggie section had Parmesan which is not vegetarian. Despite this would go again
The food was absolutely fabulous, attention to detail 10/10 and so tasty. Atmosphere was lovely and the staff were lovely. We waited a while after we asked for the drinks, and later on the bill, but the restaurant was fairly busy.
Our order was pate , fish pie and chicken supreme followed by fruit crumble and sticky toffee , all of which was delicious. The only downfall was the service which was a little slow
Beef was not the best I have had. Gammon, as always excellent. Good choice of vegetables. Grandson devoured the chocolate fudge cake and ice cream
Excellent food, the pigs cheeks were amazing! Pleasant friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help and very reasonably priced £65 for two. We will be back
Amazing Sunday lunch, roast beef and all the trimmings. Plus scrumptious creme brulee with rhubarb , chocolate brownie and treacle tart. Not to mention fantadtic and helpful staff.
Fabulous roast dinner with excellent service. The new conservatory makes a wonderful dinning experience. The shin of beef and the lamb was absolutely mouth watering
Lovely evening at the Legh Arms. Food was lovely and staff friendly. Good to sit in bar after meal and listen to live music too.
The starters were good but the burger tasted like it came from a package and had a hair in it. The wine was good but we had to ask for water several times.
Very good quality food , an interesting and varied menu , great service and good value for money. What a beautiful place to dine or go for a sociable drink
Another great dining experience . Took family that had not been before and they were extremely impressed with the food and great service. will be returning very soon.
A fabulous meal, great staff & a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely eat at the Legh Arms again & would highly recommend the pub & restaurant to others.
We have been to the legh arms a few times now, Always good food and great service. Cosy warm pub, with a good atmosphere. Would recommend.
We had a fabulous time at The Legh Arms in January 2018. The staff were very attentive and very patient with us with our requests. We have been visiting the Legh Arms every January for the last four years now and we never get bored. It's our favourite place to eat and have a drink.
Great evening with friends. Good tasty food - the portions were very large with lots of vegetables with the two Roast Dinners - good evening with good service.
Lovely Sunday lunch, friendly service and reasonable prices! They looked after our group of 12, the food came out at the same time and the presentation was fabulous. Highly recommended!
Good well prepared tasty food and service excellent with friendly waiters. We are regulars at the Legh Arms anyway and probably will eat in the restaurant at least twice a month
Great meal. Starters and mains great and plenty of food in a portion. Staff friendly and helpful with a good atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Lovely food and warm friendly service. Have dined here several times recently and have yet to be disapointed. We will be returning again very soon.
Excellent choice of venue with top quality food in a lovely setting and great service. Myself and my wife and our son (age 10) left very happy. He said his chocolate brownie pudding was “the best”.
Service appalling. Booked table - left standing for over 10 minutes, then had to search out a member of staff to find table. Food disappointing.
Overpriced pub food masquerading as a restaurant. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Atmosphere was pleasant. They took my coat later I disovered it had been hung up next to the doorway of the pub with no security of any sort. I expect better from a restaurant.
Asked for bread rolls but only able to offer sliced bread. Not easy to catch the eye of staff to make requests including asking for the bill.
First visit - thoroughly enjoyed it! Food and service outstanding, would certainly recommend it - we'll definitely be going back. Nothing was to much trouble. One member of the party asked for an alternative veg as part of their dish and it came with no hesitation.
