The service was fab, and the food was amazing, we both had the duo of beef and there was. I thing I could fault it was like heaven, super steak and slow cooked beef came like a cottage pie, can’t stop thinking about it all day ♥️

had a lovely eating experience. we had to wait a while for our food order to be taken but they were very busy with a large group and the atmosphere in there was conducive to sitting and chatting. beautiful food well presented. will definitely be on our favourites list

The food was excellent the staff pleasant and helpful a most enjoyable evening the only down side was we chose a night that a party of young lades were having a contest on who could be the loudest however it is Christmas time and they enjoyed it will be back at some point in the future worth a visit

just the beat Sunday roast around. blade of beef and lamb with Yorkshire pudding and veg. Perfect. love this pub for food

The food was brilliant the service was good - there wa one small niggle and that was I sat on a bench seat with my back to the door and every time someone went outside to have a cigarette and opened the door I got a blast of cold air down the back of my neck -(and given that it was below freezing outside) was a little uncomfortable, so I would like to make a suggestion to you, it might be a good idea to place a barrier at the back of the bench to stop the fraught which ruined an altogether lovely evening.

Table ready when we arrived so no delay in being seated. Service of both drinks and food good by a happy friendly team. Quality of food good especially the venison special.

Delicious food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere...thank you. The specials were very good and the main menu also delivered. Indulgent desserts finished off our meal beautifully.

Lovely lunch as always. Fish cakes were really good with a great sauce. Puds were presented well with good flavours and combinations. Service was polite.

Quality of food was lovely, service was very good. Very attentive and pleasant staff. We pre booked and arrived 30 minutes early but our table was ready.i would definitely recommend it

The staff are always lovely. The service is excellent and the food is always delicious. I can’t have dairy and there is never any problems.

As regulars I can honestly say we always enjoy excellent food and exceptional service every time. They always cater for food intolerances and it’s a delight to have a choice of g/f deserts and lots of g/f gravy on my roast.

Always a great Sunday lunch. Very friendly team and the food is really excellent. We both had shin of beef and lamb and you get all the trimmings. I wish we had room for pudding because they are great too, but we were so full from our mains we couldn't managed a pud. Will definitely be back.

A well run pub with a range of great food served by pleasant and competent staff. Prices are reasonable and certainly a venue I shall return to.

Great food, big portions, lovely staff. There were 11 of us in the group and we all had a really lovely meal. Very noisy sharing space with one other large group

The atmosphere is very relaxed while still being professional, staff are always very pleasant and helpful and interact well with customers, there is a good selection of quality food excellently cooked. On the many occasions we have eaten there we always leave feeling we have had a good evening enhanced by a great meal.

Easy to book, amazing service and food that can’t be faulted. Would have been 6 out of 6 but due to a family letting their kids scream had to drop 1. No fault of the pub.

We love this place, yet another superb Sunday Lunch with friends. As always perfectly cooked meat in thick gravy and delicious vegetables. Great service from friendly staff. Back soon !!

Great food, great atmosphere... eaten here twice this week and perfect both times. 100% recommend!! The lunch menu is great value and dinner choices are beautiful.. I particularly recommend the ‘duo of grass fed beef’ for dinner... enjoy!! :-)

As it is Tuesday fairy quiet but nice atmosphere The meal was usual excellent and we were well looked after by our very pleasant waitress.

Food flavour and presentation was amazing, food was only warm not hot and was cold before we was halfway through the meal. Dawn our waitress was 100% knew her stuff and helped with my partners dietary requirements. We did mention about the heat of the food and was given a discount that we didn’t expect. Yes I would definitely go again. Overall pleasant experience.

We have had a brilliant evening meal with family, great food, cosy environment and attentive service. Even the dog was made welcome with some doggy treats on the table.

We had good food at reasonable prices with good beer and attentitive service. We have eaten here before on several occasions and standards are consistently high. We will return.

Generally good. A few downsides were that the Lamb Espetada came with the wrong sauce - it was a minty yogurt sauce instead of the Oregano, Rosemary, Garlic and Lemon Zest stated on the menu. The port and rosemary jus for the risotto dish did not appear and we only got the orange sauce for the pudding after having to ask for it! Something clearly went wrong in the sauce department that night - a shame as normally very good.

Delicious food, perfectly cooked tender steak with large portions. Helpful advice on drinks and fantastic service from waiting staff. Would highly recommend and will be returning.

The food and service were excellent, hearty portion size and good value, friendly staff. Busy local trade created cosy environment, dogs were welcome which for the unprepared might be off putting when eating.

The food was excellent, oak smoked ribeye steak beautifully cooked and presented. Very professional and attentive staff. Prices reasonable too, and Hooky Gold on tap, what more could one want.

Booked for a late Sunday lunch, really good choice of meats and so much too! Lovely cheesy veg and Yorkshire pudding served with all meats. Excellent food and service. Would definitely recommend.

Had a lovely meal Sunday evening, we had the Sunday roast, only comment would be larger portion of vegetables as 1 parsnip between 2 rather poor.

Friendly staff, good food, but a shame about the noise. Perhaps a table in the restaurant may have been better instead of the bar area.

Good selection of beers and ales. Fantastic food, recommend the portragese kebab skewers. Starters and mains seemed a little pricey but selection of dishes was good.

Lovely atmosphere and great manager (Mark) who remembers his boating clients. Two out of four meals where cold but was quickly sorted and great food. Staff could not apologise enough.
