Excellent food and extremely kind people, we recommend it . Our friends also enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Vero good quality- price relation too
The food is good, the beer is excellent and the atmosphere friendly. I went there with a party of work colleagues, all of whom agreed that the Keg & Grill is a really good place to enjoy beer & curry. The mixed grill is a large pile of chicken, lam and fish done is various ways (tandoori, kebab, bahji etc.) and is delicious - a word of warning, don't order one as a starter unless you are sharing! I followed up with keema muttar, masala chips and jeera rice - wonderful. Go there, you will not be disappointed.
Excellent pub just outside city centre 5 minute walk from broad street Food was amazing decent size portions Staff were friendly and attentive Decent prices as well Will return when in Birmingham again
The food here is just amazing. We ordered a selection of starters and mains from the lunchtime menu. The food arrived piping hot and was perfectly cooked. The Keg and Grill has some of the best asian food in the area. I particularly recommend the 'combo' platter. A lovely varied selection of asian food. Good beer and comfortable surroundings. I highly recommend it :o)
excellent as always great food and friendly service highly recomended the local place for family indian food and drinks Never disapointed will be back soon
Nice cosy pub atmosphere, good food and a nice choice of beers. Nice to have a decent pint of real beer with a curry. Friendly people.. good for catching up with friends
Great curries and great beer. What's not to like. Well situated not far from the Mailbox in the centre of Birmingham. We always visit this place when we come to the city
Excellent food, very good value and a choice of cask ales. What more could you want from a pub? Do "desi pubs" only exist in Birmingham? I wish we had them in London. Birmingham 1 London 0
Food was it's usual excellent flavour, the mixed grill is to die for lamb madras and special pilau rice brill and the service soooper! choice of ales is always good but the atlantic is superb.
First visit. Fab food. Good service. Real gem hiding away close to the mailbox. Would recommend. And the mixed grill is a real treat!!! Yum
Traditional old looking pub with a twist, such a friendly place, fantasic food & excellent value. Staff are all very pleasant. A no frills, happy place. You need to book as its gets busy.
Initially, we though we had chosen the wrong place for our special night out. It's a small converted pub, a little cramped with small, laminated tables. Lighting is quite stark and there was a large TV directly above our table. However, the TV was muted immediately at our request, and we quickly adjusted to the hubbub of conversation, the slightly-too-loud piped music and the friendly mood of the place and its clientele. The service was very friendly and efficient, food and beers excellent and prices extremely reasonable. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for great Indian food with no frills.
No fuss back street pub close to the Mailbox serving lovely tasty Indian food. Staff very pleasant helpful particularly when explaining choices on menu. Cobra, Peroni on draft as well as others. Will definitely be going back.
Excellent food, great atmosphere and a really reasonable price for the 4 of us. The owners were really friendly. Would definitely return on our next trip to Brum!
As ever excellent food and service and enjoyed introducing new people to the keg and grill and it didn't let me down! Keep up the good work!
Number 1 on trip advisor for pubs which serves mix grills however the mix grill is overrated and is no way worthy of its number one position. Overall the atmosphere and ambience of the pub was relaxed and the customer service was very good, I'd return for a drink but not for their mix grills.
Great pub, first time heard great reviews about the food. It was tasty, fresh, hot and reasonable priced. Warm welcome on arrival and will definetly be going again !
Great food and enormous portions. Service quick and friendly. Would defiantly go back and highly recommend the mixed grill. Best pub come Indian restaurant I have been to
Great pub serving real ales and fantastic Indian food. Regular grill was very big and had loads of tasty meats. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Hidden gem in the city centre. Will definitely be back.
First time we had been here. We had a great evening. Lovely staff, fab food, traditional pub atmosphere - good range of drinks. Definitely recommend this place.
Obviously a popular place as it was already quite full when we arrived, we were welcomed to our reserved table. My husband had their own ale and said it was a fantastic pint. The meal was delicious, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. It is a simple, no-frills place with a great atmosphere and, most importantly, fantastic food and drink.
Mixed grill is fantastic and excellent value. Very good food in Pub style setting. The location is also good (close to Mailbox and Broad street).
Brilliant place to eat, nice beers on tap and the best Jalfrezi I've tasted, so much flavour. Great experience all round, would go again next time I'm in Birmingham.
Great food - friendly staff - fun atmosphere. Really enjoyed the meal, and the selection of real ales they have available is brilliant too. Definitely would recommend a visit.
Another great meal and great service from a friendly proprietor and staff. The food is always tasty, the fluffiest rice you'll ever find while portions are of a size that you can enjoy what you like.
No frills just fantastic quality food and really friendly great service! Took colleagues from out of town who are still raving about it days after our visit. Will be back!
We thought the food was fantastic and they had a good range of beer as well. We really liked the informal feel too. More ambient lighting and a few pictures on the walls and general enhancement of overall decoration would make this place even better!
Great food, had the large mixed grill and was stuffed. Great smokey taste you only get from the tandoor, go and try it, will definitely be going back.
food a lamb Biryani was fantastic, served with a pint of IPA in a traditional pub setting. relaxed vibe. if I am in Birmingham again, I'd not hesitate to eat/drink here.
Enjoyed a couple of pints and a very tasty meal. The food was perhaps a little pricey but the quality was excellent. Service was friendly & efficient service. The decor is a bit basic but the place was bustling, obviously a popular place and rightly so.
Food was served really quickly and the staff were helpful. Reasonable price food and drink. It was really early when we arrived so not sure how busy it would be it's a small pub venue
Great place to eat - delicious food, good beer and friendly staff. particularly impressive range of vegetarian dishes, which is a refreshing and welcome difference from other restaurants
Fantastic food and a great social environment. Food was served quickly, menu is simple and there is a good selection of beer Watched the football whilst having a curry :)
Fantastic food, ales and laid back atmosphere, I would highly recommend the mixed grills as they are plenty of food and great fun to share.
Very friendly, good beer, bloody marvelous food. Almost literally across the road from mailbox. Great place to hang out if looking for last-minute table/drink around Mailbox
Just the best Goan fish curry I have ever eaten. The butter chicken also superb. This chef is a genius. Beers are good too and the people very nice and friendly.
Fantastic food and a great choice of beers to accompany it. Service was swift and by friendly staff. Will certainly return as had a great experience, highly recommended for a place to start off your evening or to while away a night with friends. Make sure you book as it does get busy
I booked a table for 4 for our dinner after visiting the theatre, this was our 4th visit to The Keg & Grill and the food was fabulous. The staff are always warm and welcoming.I decided to try their Chicken Biriyani this time and it's one of the best I've had. It's only a small pub but sometimes it's nice to get away from the hustle & Bustle of the city centre
Beautiful curry and an excellent choice of beers. Service and decor just right. Prices perhaps a bit pricy, especially the spiced prawn starter but overall a great first time visit. Would strongly recommend
lovely pub, great service and wonderful food. some of the best and mot authentic indian food that you will find.. top marks to the management
Overall a good experience. Small pub with a nice atmosphere. If you're sitting down to eat, it's a bit cramped, but the food is lovely.
Friendly and exc3ellent food as always Highly recomended But these days need to book as great demand for ables almost every night Such a good place for a friendly supper
Excellent food served by welcoming and helpful staff. Decor is clean and bright, and it is very popular given there are no free tables by 7:30PM!
Great Indian food and pub drinks at this no-nonsense venue. The mixed grill was amazing and we'll definitely go back for this alone, but everything we had was great (especially the marsala chips!)
Authentic, friendly pub found in the heart of Birmingham. A simple menu at very reasonable prices. But the most recommended is the food. It's excellent!!
Nice pub with friendly staff serving a large selection of beers including three handpull ales. Nice cosy atmosphere food was very nice we shared a mixed grill and added masala chips and naan which was more than sufficient for two. Would suggest booking at busiest times as dining space is limited.
The food was really nice. Old pub just off the city centre, given a lick of paint. Not a huge selection on the menu but what they served up was excellent. Good service and nice and friendly staff.
Bhajis floury, samosas thick pastry not puff, sauces in curries ok but not brilliant, salad was brown. Sat opposite toilets all tables are opposite toilets. No atmosphere, no colour, no bulbs in the lampshade. Staff ok
Excellent. Not the biggest portions I have ever had however it's quality not quantity for me and the quality of the food is right up there.
Our meal at the Keg and Grill was one of the best Indian meals we have had out. Well cooked, first class flavours and friendly service, in a nice relaxed atmosphere. We got excellent value for money and the portions were very satisfying. Well done, please keep doing what you are doing. Will visit again, recommend you try it, would advise advance booking. Well located for visiting the New Alexandra Theatre.
