Excellent service, staff were really friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, very tasty! We’ve been several times over the last couple of years and definitely will definitely go again!

An early evening meal after work on a hot day. The service was attentive, and the food was very tasty. I would recommend The Italian Taste, and I will return.

I love this restaurant and it’s fast become my favourite local restaurant. The food is fantastic, great atmosphere with welcoming, friendly staff that really go out of their way to give you a great night. Food and alcohol is reasonably priced for such excellent quality of food.

Excellent service delicious food I had the duck and my friend had the veal and we shared some courgettes fritto. It was a great meal.

Food fine service could have been better obviously understaffed one way to make money very noisy and parking bad would not go again on a Friday evening

The woman that served us on arrival was extremely rude to us, because we had a baby with our group and she did not have any high chairs to give us. We ended up leaving as she was extremely obnoxious and offensive.

Lovely Italian atmosphere, staff delightful and so helpful - we had two small children with us. The menu is wonderful, such variety, not all pasta, and typical of real Italian food. Can’t wait to visit again!

Very good authentic independent Italian restaurant. Was a really nice atmosphere on Valentine's day and the food and drink were excellent. Will be visiting again.

Over price valentines set menu and portions were scale down down for the set menu comprend to the normal menu. Service felt very rushed as if they wanted to get us out.

It was a pleasant evening, largely due to it being a long overdue catch up with friends. The setting is nice, but the service felt rushed in that the waiter/manager kept walking past our table and checking for empty plates! The pizza base was good, and light but the topping lacked imagination.. listed as spicy Italian sausage but what came was very standard sliced pepperoni. I would have expected something more tasty and authentic. I think the others enjoyed their meals; personally I just remember it being better!

Three of us were there for lunch on Sunday and having a blast. The restaurant was will appointed and clean. Menu was extensive. Food was great and generous portioned. Great services too. Only small minus was the music could be a little too loud at times (only a little but asked the waitress to volume down - no problem). We'll go back that again soon.

Booked this ages ago but landed right by the door. Pizza really baked up and the fish starter which we asked for as a main size is really small for £15.

We've lived in Surbiton for years but have never visited The Italian Taste, and not sure why ! Looking past the mixed reviews, we took the plunge one Saturday evening. The décor is contemporary, the service pleasant and attentive and the starter and main course delicious, piping hot and plentiful.....in fact too plentiful for dessert !! The bill for 2 people, 2 courses, a cocktail, a glass of prosecco and 2 beers was £ 75. And home-made Limoncello to finish. On the basis of our first visit, I would recommend and we will return.

Great welcome from the staff and the food was its usual robust Italian fare. Our dining companions had the linguine aspire del mare which tasted great and I had the special of taglioni with swordfish and aubergine in a tomato sauce. My husband had the veal which was tasty. We had the house wine and the others had dessert of ice cream and the crepe Suzette. It was a really pleasant evening and we got away with paying just over £25 per head , inclusive of the tip.

Lovely meal with great non-rushed service, in a nice atmosphere. The recent refurbishment is smart, not that I thought it was bad before. So thoroughly enjoyed and look forward to going again soon.

It was closed for refurbishment. Booking accepted but restaurant not open. Totally inept service. Food may be good if it ever opens again. Who knows. I won't bother going as plenty of other restaurants in the area. We went to Al Forno in Kingston instead. Had a great meal, excellent service. Good value for money. Give it a go.

An excellent experience as always. Solid choice of classic Italian staples executed with consistent success and a meal packed with flavour all hosted by the very friendly and efficient staff. The food here is really very good and it's easy to see why it's always busy. Long may that continue.

A lovely meal as ever with just as lovely staff. This little slice of Italy only a stones throw away from Surbiton station is a Delious delight every time.

Great food and very friendly welcoming service. We had the specials of the day, which were innovative and tasty and good generous portion sizes. Good wine choice and nice complementary lemon cello which was a nice ending.

Good food, sensible prices, helpful, friendly staff. Definitely one the nicest restaurants in Surbiton, highly recommended. On street parking available nearby, open from lunchtime onwards

What a little gem this is. Lovely little restaurant, efficient friendly staff and the food is just fantastic. We have been on a number of occasions and tried various dishes from the menu and everyone of them has been absolutely first class. A Must Visit, book now.

Nice little bijou restaurant, very cosy, great service and good food. Table by the window was very nice although Surbiton High Street location not great....you can't really notice that once you're inside.

Excellent food as always. Prawn starter and liver with sage for mains- delicious. Staff always welcoming and know us well. A great place to catch up with friends.

Great food and service. Our linguine sapore al mare was savoury and full of mussels and the most delicious tomato and seafood broth. My brother in law reported his tuna steak was fresh and really tasty. We were offered limoncello digestifs to complete a wonderful evening in Surbiton.

Always a pleasant courteous experience. Food is consistently good. They serve very large portions, if you are extremely hungry you could manage a starter and main course (this is written by a woman). Otherwise, I would share a starter or go for dessert. The house wine is very good and reasonably priced. The staff are always helpful and engaging. The table d'hote menu offers a good variety of typical Italian fare with a good fish choice. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this local restaurant.

Quite good a bit cramped. Ravioli undercooked. Wasn't asked how meal was - my husband was not altogether happy with his Creme Brulee. Service ok

We enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Italian Taste celebrating my brother's 50th birthday. Delicious food, excellent service, warm, buzzy & friendly atmosphere - will definitely return.

Another fabulous meal. The most delicious gamberroni linguine I have ever tasted. Service is second to none. Our guests were so impressed. Can't wait for next visit!

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit - good food and great atmosphere. I had the veal saltimboca which was good and a generous serving and my wife had the Tortelloni Aragosta which she raved about. Only disappointments were the zucchine fritte and the calamari fritte (had better at Qverde) and being charged £1.50 for 2 slices of bread! On a positive note I can recommend the house red at £15.00 - good value for money.
