Just my wife and I went, to celebrate her birthday. We've been before, with friends, and much enjoyed it. Prices this time seem much more economical and realistic.

We've been going to Italian Taste for years and it's always been great. However, we had our first average experience last year. We needed to give it another go but yesterday was very similar. Food was ok but nothing special. It's quite expensive and we expected more. The waitress has zero personality. Don't know what has changed but it needs to improve as otherwise people will drift away - we won't be rushing back.

This is a cosy restaurant in a nice setting in Surbiton. This night they must have had a staff shortage as the service was tardy and rude. Very little was offered if you have any allergies. There’s too much risk in returning.

A fairly standard Italian menu, competently delivered. Prices are reasonable and so are the portions. In Surbiton, about 5 minutes walk from the BR station.

Lovely food (with good portion sizes!). I particularly recommend the linguine gamberoni. Friendly waiters and prompt service. Homely atmosphere. Overall a very enjoyable night out

Nice food, efficient, friendly service and lively atmosphere. The fegato e salvia was not quite up to scratch (or perhaps I just prefer it cooked slightly differently), but definitely worth a return visit to explore the menu more thoroughly. The house wine was very drinkable and good value.

Hadn't been here for years, but popped in just before Christmas on the off chance late one evening. Good food and service and reasonably priced. An excellent local venue.

The food was excellent - I had salmon and my partner had steak pasta . My only possible area for improvement would be the ambience of the restaurant itself . I like my Italians to be cosier and more intimate .

Very pleasant evening with my children, despite the restaurant being full and very busy there was no lapse in the attentive service. The food was excellent and when requested drinks replenished without delay. The only downside is the draught when customers enter or leave the restaurant, the corner table next to the door just needs a screen.

A very nice evening for our first visit to The Italian taste in Surbiton. Starters were delicious as well as the mains although my veal was a little tough and the sauce had little taste by overall it was good food and reasonably priced. Will return.

Fabulous! Friendly, relaxed, delicious! I can’t recommend this place enough. The staff are super friendly, they make the atmosphere so calm and fun, you can’t help but relax and enjoy yourself. The food is superb, really varied menu, and all the dishes I’ve tried so far have been excellent. Go!! See for yourself!

5 of us (me, my wife, mother & 2 children) ate at the restaurant on Fri 07th, as it was my Mother's birthday. We have a lovely table in the window. Service was good but I have 2 small disappointments. My daughters main dish, whilst looking great was a bit tasteless (her words not mine) and my Linguine Gamberoni only had 3 prawns in it, which was disappointing and I felt a little stingy as the dish tasted lovely. Plus they were butterfly prawns in the Linguine (doesn't say that on the menu), so I had to peel them; I wouldn't have ordered that dish had I known. Being brutally honest, a similar dish at Ciao Italia in Banstead is quite a bit better. Shame.

We were a party of 5 and had a great time. Both food and service were first class. We will be going again very soon.

Friendly staff serving traditional and we'll prepared Italian dishes. Quiet ambience and a very enjoyable evening. We have visited several times as it has always been nice.

Fantastic restaurant for both food and atmosphere. Very happy staff and were attentive in the right amount. One negative was on arrival having booked we were offered a table for two and not four as reserved, not a big issue just a slight concern whether they had reserved and put a side our table. But this was the only downside and it was quickly rectified so probably only my initial paranoia. All in all a great find and lovely independent Italian!

We had a lovely meal here, the food was great (calamari was great and pasta dishes amazing), the place is nice and service good. Would definitely go again!

Good ambiance as always. However disappointed in lamb shank meal as it was too spicy and spoilt the taste of the lamb. Waitress could have smiled more!

We called the restaurant earlier to advise that it was mums 86th birthday This was not acknowledged.... the food was ok the wine was very good I will not rush back but would go if need be
