The Horse and Groom - Lincoln

Nice pub although slightly dated inside. The food was ok and the service wasn't bad although had to wait quite a while to be served once seated.

Service and food was good, however, the food took along time and we only order lunch wraps etc and the pub was very quiet. Food took about 45 mins to come. We wanted desert and waited for order to be taken but decided would take too long so we left.

First time eating here, was very disappointed. We ordered 1 starter, and 6 mains! We didn't receive our food for almost 1 hour 30 minutes. When we did get our food, it was very poor, especially with regards to cost. The pub can't handle a busy night. Service wasn't great either! Won't be returning in a hurry!

Last night i can confirm the Atmosphere was fab, food was delicious but most of all the staff were fabulous, the two guys who served us were amazing at their jobs and made a Tuesday night catchup with my friend all the better, thank you guys!

Fabulous food, friendly and obliging staff, overall rating, excellent!!! Been visiting this pub for over two years now and in fact apart from my own, the Horse and Groom served the best Christmas lunch I have ever had as far as pubs and restaurants provide. The food is always spot on!

Great food, great service - I would have no hesitation in going back. Try the farmhouse loaf stuffed with sundried tomato's and 3 cheeses, it was gorgeous

Lovely place to eat. Food was excellent. Drinks reasonable priced Nice little beer garden to sit out when weather if nice. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Tasty food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. I had a roast chicken dinner with a pint of ale which was beautiful. Really appreciated the taste board for the beer too.

Have been to this pub quite a few times.The menu is new and very good but they need to remember it is only a pub not a restaurant.I say this as they have hiked the prices up a lot!

A nicely situated venue. The bar staff were very pleasant and informative of the various beers and lagers available. Menu was good, neither too large or too restricted, prices were acceptable. Had to call someone over to order, could do with a little more attentive waiting staff. Food was very good, freshly prepared and plentiful. We will certainly go back again.

Had a delicious meal. We had the fish and chips, our guests had the pie and liver and bacon, everything came out hot, Good service, staff friendly. Everywhere clean and tidy.

Met up with old friends for a catch-up over dinner. Great service, good food, and pleasant ambience. Also have a good vegetarian selection, so recommended.

On the whole the food was good but disappointed with the pie. Last time I had the chicken and ham pie it was lovely but this time it was different a lot of thick pastry and no sauce in the filling!

The pub is very cosy and welcoming. The food tasted fantastic however there could have been just a few (not too many) more options on the menu.

Went to the Horse & Groom for my birthday celebration and everyone who attended enjoyed a very good meal which was also very good value!

Excellent fish specials menu, as well as a decent ordinary choice accompanied by great friendly service. Good choice of beer and wines and pretty good prices

This was my first visit to the Horse & Groom and I was not disappointed, you were quickly welcomed as you came through the door by very friendly staff. The food was top notch and well presented with just the right amount on your plate, a bit pricey but happy to pay for good food.

Good but not as good as it had been on previous visits! We were brought the wrong wine to what we ordered and then my partner had his water served in a dirty glass not one but twice which was disappointing!! Sunday lunches are lovely although Yorkie puds used to be homemade - fairly sure they weren't this time. Desserts are a little over priced so choose wisely.

This was our first time eating here. I reserved the table for 1:15 and got there on time. Our group ordered the meal instantly as we were on a time limit but waited over 50 minutes for it to arrive and we had to ask how long it was going to be. Out of the 3 meals, 1 had a larger Yorkshire pudding, which in a group is quite noticeable when we all ordered the same meal. On the menu it mentioned that stuffing would also be on every roast dinner but this was missing on ours, when we asked the waitress about this, she did not know what should have been included, even though it clearly said on the menu. The food itself was nice but overall the service wasn't great.

Eaten here many times and every time we have received fantastic food and great service. Would recommend it for a great night out with a great atmosphere.

Quite a long wait for food but to be fair it was quite busy. I've been really impressed with the food from here in the past but it wasn't anything to shout about this time around. An incorrect bill also wasn't a great end to the evening.

A very pleasant atmosphere, caring staff and beautifully cooked food. A significant cut above the 2 for £10 places. If we come to Lincoln again, we'll certainly be eating here.

Excellent service, delicious freshly cooked food and a great atmosphere. A great place to celebrate my son achieving a First for his dissertation. Dessert is a must.

Always really good food here. Great menu and they also have a specials board. Table was reserved no problem. Staff were friendly Only negative was the group eating behind us wanted to swear every 5 seconds.

We enjoyed our evening at the Horse and Groom. We found the staff very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was nice and lively. The food was reasonable.

Friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. We ate from the lunchtime menu which is varied and there was something for everyone. The portions were large and the food tasty.

Lovely food, great place. Could've done with a couple of extra staff to keep things moving along as service was a little slow (it was a busy Sunday lunchtime).

Lovely food and ambience. Bit of a wait for the mains but offered a free coffee. Only slight grumble is lack of room between some tables.

Booking experience very easy / nice comfortable surroundings / staff very welcoming / service was very good / food very good although would have preferred the vegetables in the 'usual' presentation! Chicken & Ham Pie was served on a bed of creamed potatoes, strips of cabbage and tiny slivers of carrots. Presentation is paramount I know, but as a personal choice I like my vegetables on the side! The other guests enjoyed their choices - particularly the battered fish and chips. Would certainly go to the Horse and Groom again,

Great food but service was extremely slow unfortunately! A couple who came in after us got their mains before us AND they had starters in that time too! Also disappointed that the menu has changed as it was much larger before!

Service was very poor, had to leave the table to ask to order food and drinks and again for condiments. Staff were very polite but no system in looking after tables

Happy and friendly staff, nothing too much trouble . My only criticism is that the vegetarian options both contained peppers which I am allergic to, but I found something on the starter menu and had that with chips.

Waited ages for food, even though not busy at this time. All 4 meals were not good, dry chicken, frozen fish and Sunday lunch that was partly inedible! Will not be going back.

Wasn't as good an experience as we've previously had at the Horse and Groom, they had ran out of quite a few things on the menu. Also brought the wrong steak sauce which meant one of the meals was a bit delayed but mistakes happen, I've rated top marks before and I'm sure I'll rate top marks in the future as it won't put us off from dining here. The food is excellent and we'll be back again!

fast friendly service, lovely food. very clean and cosy restaurant, good value for money. very easy parking right next to the pub. will definently return.

Overall = Excellent The Horse and Groom have friendly and accommodating staff, the chefs were open to changes to the menu and know how to cook a blue steak! We felt welcome from the minute we walked in, we had a fantastic evening with drinks and 3 course dinner. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and lovely food we has a great evening, highly recommend.

Food was lovely, and lots of it! We sat in the window near to garden ... it was a tad shabby, but still very nice. Service very good and waiter/waitress very polite and quick.

Lovely place. Not much to say bad as the staff where friendly an the food was tasty and fast. Only minus was our table, it was a big round table in a tight corner and busy traffic from the kitchen passed us. We could not use all of the table which was'nt a big deal as there was only 5 of us. But it was busy and we sat around 2/3 of the table.

Sat near the rear door , people constantly going in and out whilst eating ! Not appreciated! Very slow service! Over rated ! Not returning

Menu choice poor as some not available! The food very poor quality and looked as though not fresh! Service also poor and staff not adequately trained for such a busy day! Very disappointed and informed duty manager of this

Good atmosphere, slow to clear when eaten/order pud. Never asked about drinks. Food good but all veg could have been warmer, and one serving of mushy peas mysteriously spread around the plate to fill a space - hardly anything there. Portions fairly small.

A fantastic place, great food and friendly staff!! I'd be very happy to eat there again, the pie & pint night was brilliant. Beautiful :-)

Delightful waiting staff made for a very pleasant evening, food was good, served hot and enjoyed by all four in the party. Comfortable and good atmosphere.
