The Horse and Groom - Lincoln

A friendly warm welcome from the staff which lasted throughout our meal. Had steak which was tasty. This is one of my favourite eateries, the service and food is always consistently great.

The place has a lovely feel about it.staff are attentive but not in your face. The service & food were excellent & will be returning & would highly recommend

Food was delicious and very good portion size. However it was slightly cold when it came out and it seemed like they were in a rush for our group to leave. Would still probably return but maybe not for Sunday lunch

Fantastic staff, service and food. First time visiting the Horse and Groom and will definitely be returning. The care and attention given to my daughter with a nut allergy was amazing and very much appreciated.

Id heard good things about the restaurant , so when my friends and I were due a get together, we thought we'd give it a try. We were met by friendly, attentive staff, great food and reasonable prices! 😀

Delicious food with good service! I would highly recommend the mushroom starter, it was absolutely yummy! I have to say...Glen our waiter was welcoming and engaging; we'll definitely be going back.

Welcoming and friendly staff, amazing Sunday dinner! Table was in a nice location and didn't feel crammed in because of the careful layout of the pub.

Service was great, we were welcomed and offered to sit straight away. Food came within 30 minutes and was delicious, the Sunday roasts were huge, hot and yummy! Place was busy and there was a great atmosphere. We will be back in the not so near future!

Beautifuly cookedl food and fantastic atmosphere. Waiter was very polite and friendly... but... vegan options on the menu would have made the evening perfect! Please!!!

Lovely restaurant, the food was very good, the service was a little slow but it was a busy night. Would definitely recommend and would visit again next time I visit Lincoln.

Great choice of menu and tasty food combined with a good location. We would recommend The Horse and Groom just as much for lunch as an evening meal.

Reservation excellent. Great service provided by staff throughout our visit. The food was delivered promptly and food was of a very high standard! Would return!

The menu was different to the website so some of the group were disappointed when they got there. The gammon was extremely salty, to the point that it was difficult to eat. We were a very early booking due to other commitments, and the pub was almost empty, but we didn't feel welcomed and the staff weren't very attentive. Sorry.

Great food and atmosphere .service was good and ambience perfect we will be back again. Food Pricing and menu choices were excellent. Loved the lamb shank and pomegranate!

Went for Sunday dinner with my parents, we all thought that the food was excellent and the staff were friendly, will definitely come back again.

Great meal, well cooked and presented. Good ambience. Very much enjoyed the afternoon to celebrate my daughters birthday. One small complaint was dining chairs were not too comfy .

We went to the horse and groom on Easter Sunday .we had a lovely meal it was all cooked really nice also presented nice as well everywhere looked nice and the pub itself was very clean staff very attentive nothing was to much trouble all in all a very nice dinning experience thankful lynn

A really nice place with car park near city centre. Good beers. Good choices on the menu. Apparently gets very busy but was fine on a Wednesday lunchtime.

Things have changed and unfortunately not for the best. Different menu, staff and clientele. Was not an enjoyable lunch. Sad because it was once good.

The food is absolutely delicious here at the Horse and Groom! I recommend the mussels and they also have a good wine selection! Great service!

The starter had to be returned 2. The rolls were still frozen the first time and the baked camembert was cold. Had to request extra cutlery and napkins twice. The chips were re-heated and not very nice. Service was OK but the staff didn't seem very interested. Won't be going again.

Perhaps we visited the pub on the wrong night, service not as good as normal, food was OK. Don't think it helped that the pub was very cold, which didn't help.

Meal was lovely, place not too busy, staff were courteous but unfortunately the Yorkshire pudding that was served with the meal was well over done and really should have been picked up before it was served to us

Very good, lovely food. Was very busy so food took a while. Was meant to be Steak/Grill Night so thought there be offers but was still a bit pricey.

Very welcoming. Unfortunate that the ale we wanted was off and the main I wanted was also off the menu. Good atmosphere would recommend and will go again.

Food and really nice but as they were so busy the service was really slow, we waited an hour for our main course andy half an hour for another drink.

Great food & relaxed atmosphere. Friendly, helpful staff. Salmon fishcakes were very tasty! We would definitely recommend and hope to return very soon. Great to have a car park too.

Great meal, service was a little slow but it was a busy Saturday night! The aubergine and gallop I bruschetta was original and tasty. Great find.

Came for a meal here at lunch time and the food was fantastic! The waiting staff were told that it was my birthday and they set up a lovely table with a chalk board that wished me a happy birthday! Lovely meal!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Good food, warm atmosphere, noisy enough to be jolly but quiet enough for us to chat. Just right! We will be back.

Excellent Sunday roast. 3 of us had Chicken, Pork and Lamb Shank all were lovely. Second visit but will be visiting against whilst our daughter is at Uni

No linguine on an already limited menu, which was misleading to start with. Menu outside had great options but found out that was not the case when it was too late.

Excellent evening, nice atmosphere in the restaurant, staff friendly and helpful. Nice food served in reasonable time. We will be retuning again this year as convenient location.

Have eaten at the horse and groom many times but it somehow missed the mark this time. Felt rushed, we hadn't even been seated before we were asked what we wanted to drink. Salmon fish cakes were very good. Went to h & g as wanted it to be special with family but came away disappointed. 😕

Nice food. Booking online was so easy. No doubt we will return Lemonade was a rip off 4:80 for a large glass seems excessive to me

The food was average - lacking in flavour. Service was good, and the pub is attractive with a good range of beers and other drinks.

Lovely time, we had Sunday roast my wife and myself, good portions, good service beer was a bit pricey but what's Sundays for if you're not going to plash out now and again

Pleasant surroundings with an old fashioned feel. The staff were welcoming and attentive without being over intrusive. The food was excellent and they even split a pudding for us!! Will definitely be doing a return visit.

We were a party of 10. The service was carried out by friendly and helpful staff. The meals were all enjoyed by my party the food was hot and served in a timely manner and no plate was left empty which proves the food was enjoyed by all.

The Horse and Groom is one of our favourite pubs. Lovely birthday lunch with family. Pleasant atmosphere, good food, friendly staff. Will visit again for sure.

Excellent food although steaks sold out. Slow service of drinks at start of evening. Booking easy through quango and reminder was useful. Will visit again when steaks available!

car park full , with people using and walking onto the waterside and not using the pub ! waited 40 minutes for our meal, and when arrived for the price paid was only average ... although it wasn't a bad meal was a little disappointed as its just been voted pub of the year... wouldn't say i would never go back but would try other places before i did ....
