Excellent food and nice atmosphere in busy pub. Slightly let down by our reserved table been squeezed in next to a large table of ladies celebrating and a partion glass wall by the door.

Good service. Normally a pleasant environment but on this occasion There were two large parties close to us whose voices carried so well we found it very uncomfortable. My husband turned his hearing aids off but could still hear their conversations. Some soft furnishings or sound insulation would help.

On the whole the food was good, my husband had the pie & mash whilst I had steak. My meal was great & the steak was cooked perfectly. However my husband didn't enjoy his quite as much, the mash was described as buttery but it was anything but this. it seems as though old potatoes were used as the mash was very dry & lump, severely under seasoned with very little taste. The pie was ok, filling was nice but the pastry was quite thick. The staff were lovely & discount was given & also extra gravy was provided to compensate for the dry mash. Would come back to try again & maybe have something different.

We waited a long time to be served and then another long wait for the food. Staff were pleasant and friendly especially a young man who said he was from Limerick. Food was a mixed bag, I had pork it was very chewy and I ended up leaving it. My husband had a burger that he said was just ok. My sister had chicken she said there wasn’t enough of it! Nice environment though and easy free parking.

Very good service, staff were helpful, food was good, overall a pleasant experience. Just one of our guests was slightly unhappy with his meal, apparently the haddock and chips were not to his taste.

Although it was busy we didn't have to wait long to be served at the bar. After we were seated and given the menu again we didn't wait long for our order to be taken. The staff we helpful and cheerful. Everyone was satisfied with their meal .

Food was gorgeous! Very lovely meal. Service was nice and friendly too. Only thing that let it down a bit was awkward seating. We were jammed in a corner at an angle right next to another table. Had to pull the table out so my husband could even sit down. Didn't understand why they wouldn't space us out a bit more when there were loads of empty tables.

The Horse and Groom has got to be Lincoln’s top pub. Nothing is too much trouble for the lovely staff, always a great menu and wide choice of drinks and the ambiance is spot on at any time.

Good fresh food , relaxed atmosphere , car parking , when ordering I was asked if I would like bread , so thinking it was complementary I said yes only to find it was charged for on the bill , it was lovely but we weren’t given plates or napkins to help with very moist garlic bread and dressing , consequently messy sticky fingers .

Nice food but the menu is very small albeit 2 more specials on the board, The staff are fantastic and friendly and efficient We had two roast dinners and all very delicious BUT the meat was the smallest item on the plate. If you are loosing weight or not really into meat then great if not the meat was a little on the stingy side sorry and we both wanted more meat. I think the huge Yorkshire pudding could be less and more meat!

Not sure they were expecting us even though we had pre-booked, as the table had to be set. The staff were very pleasant. I choose Sunday roast beef and I did eat it all but it wasn't the best roast I have ever had. There was not much meat and it was the sragg ends of the joint and the roast potatoes and stuffing were very hard. To be fair I probably made the wrong choice being it was 5pm when we sat down. The 3 other meals were good. Presentation was good and it was nice not to be rushed. There was a good selection of drinks and the overall facilities in the pub were good.

Very cosy atmosphere. Great friendly service. Could be a Bit more generous with portions. Especially the starters and vegetables with the fish dish. The people who had fish were still hungry even with a starter before the main.

Extremely friendly and welcoming staff, a good variety of dishes on the menu and the food that our party of five ordered was delivered in good time and piping hot, it was also really tasty, well cooked and presented nicely, all this after we were told that there may be a delay as they were a chef down. Sadly I was nominated driver so couldn't sample any of the excellent ales on offer but seeing the beers being taken to other tables I'll make sure that we book somewhere to stay for the night. Only slight negative was that I thought the desserts were little on the small side, but I'm a little on the greedy side when it comes to puddings. Overall we had an excellent lunch and really looking forward to eating (and drinking) there again, and a huge thank you to all the staff.
