Good range of choices available. Child friendly and relaxed. Not overcrowded.
Great restaurant. Food excellent. Advise to book before as it gets busy.
Lovely food and service as always. Place was very noisy today but that is difficult to do anything about, I genuinely love children but this family! WOW! Definitely won’t put me off as it isn’t usually like that. Sunday roast was amazing!
Back within the week - with friends this time - we enjoyed a great meal - served with a smile - plenty of food - at reasonable prices - great visit :-)
Food was very nice (as always). Seemed a little noisier than usual but that could have been where we sat. The beef stroganoff is a must if you like it.
As usual - we enjoyed a great meal - served with a smile - plenty of food - at reasonable prices - great visit :-)
Great food and service. We are vegans are they are always so helpful to accommodate. Had a lovely sharing platter to start, great tempura vegetables and then mushroom and spinach stroganoff.
nice food and very nice staff, would recommend and go again.
Very good food, very friendly staff and very nice atmosphere
Roasted potatoes coukd have been do e roasted a little longer
It was a good experience. Beautifully prepared food, good portion sizes, good menu/ acceptable prices and lovely staff, It was Mothers' Day so there was rather more noise than you would normally expect, but that said it was all very happy and friendly. We were very glad we booked (thanks to Tripadvisor) . Most visitors see this restaurant as we did and we saw nothing whatsoever to be negative about. We just happened to be visiting the area for the day, but if The Hind's Head was near to our home we would be regulars.
Well worth a visit wpild recommend everything we hordered was lovely
Really good food and service. We will definitely return soon
Nice staff, great food, reasonable price, would recommend dining here.
We love Sunday Lunch at the Hinds Head and wouldn't go anywhere else.
Food was very good, service was slow, at bit too slow. Quite noisy but it was a busy Sunday lunch time.
Good food as usual - would definitely go back again
Table booked. 17.15 only received food at 18.30, it was not busy. My fish and chips where ok and the wife's Sunday roast beef was good. But my daughters burger was less than average! Hadn't been for a couple of years and won't be back any time soon
Lovely food and catered well for gluten free options :-)
Yet again, another really enjoyable experience at the Hinds Head. The service is excellent - even better than previous occasions. Staff extremely courteous and friendly with nothing too much trouble. See you soon!
It is a Lovely pub, great staff and service food was good
The food was great. Fresh, good size platefuls and really tasty. Good value for money.
Been now 5 times, Service was a little slower than usual although NOT as busy which I found strange to say the least, Chips came 5 mins after my fiancee's meal was brought.. which to me personally, is NOT acceptable sorry! My vegetables were DEFINATELY NOT FRESH, and most certaily reheated in a microwave then left under heat lamps, they were Luke warm and VERY RUBBERY to the point they WERE VIRTUALY INEDIBLE! the rest of the meal was as usual, faultless.
Very good experience. Will defo come back again! great value
Excellent value for money lunch and a decent pint to accompany it.
The meal my partner and I had last night was excellent. The staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was lovely.
Went for an evening meal with a friend. I had steak and veg pie with chips and veg, followed by chocolate cheesecake, which was actually described as chocolate velvet truffle on the menu, so I had to ask what it was. My friend had roast duck breast in honey and spice with fondant potatoes. It came with green beans which my friend doesn't like, so she asked for carrots which was no problem. For dessert she had sticky toffee pudding with custard. Everything was absolutely delicious except for my friend's dessert. She said the sponge itself was lovely, but she'd asked for extra toffee sauce which didn't materialize and what was there didn't taste of toffee. The plate was also decorated with chocolate sauce which you don't really want with sticky toffee pudding. It really spoiled it for her but when she mentioned it we were told it would be knocked off the bill. I have to praise the staff, they were very pleasant, attentive and efficient. All in all, a very enjoyable experience and we would definitely go back.
Food was delicious. Service fab from kind and lovely staff. It was quiet with no mudic. But fab xxx
Again an excellent meal made even more enjoyable due to relaxing and friendly ambience. Visited a number of times and will be visiting again.
Excellent food and service. Lunch menu good value but poor atmosphere - tables and chairs very functional - OK for eating a quick meal but not conducive to chatting and socialising.
The nicest meal me and my boyfriend have had in a long time
Ordered the seafood risotto which arrived raw, it was inedible I sent it back for the same plate to return with the response it's supposed to be like that? So do i want it or not? Never have I had rissoto that was so hard it could of chipped a tooth . Needless to say we won't be returning.
The food was excellent and so was the service nice and cosy.
The restaurant was unusually quiet this lunchtime but, as a party of 6, we created our own ‘atmosphere’. This was far from our first visit and the food and service were excellent, as expected. The only thing that was not good was that the restaurant was quite chilly with just the one fire to warm the rooms. There did not appear to be any central heating on. As our table was by the door, there was an icy blast everytime anyone walked in. Shame, everything else was excellent.
Was looking forward to eating here as we'd been before a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. Food was average at best. Boiled tasteless veg reminded me of school dinners. The duck breast I had was ok as was the sauce. Let down by the aforementioned veg. We had to signal to order drinks, again to order food, again to order more drinks and then came the dessert menu which was left with us for 40 mins without anyone taking our order. I the end we decided to get up, pay and leave. Whenever the staff did come over they were apologetic but was exactly the same issues each time to get their attention. Seemed to be two young kids running the place. The place wasn't exactly busy so I don't quite understand why so bad tonight. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be back after tonight's visit.
Really lovely meal freshly cooked. I had had the veal steak and it was so good. Very friendly service despite it being a busy evening.
Good food and well priced house champagne - very friendly service. Overall cost very acceptable for the quantity and quality involved. We would go again.
Lovely pub. Good quality and well presented food. Staff were attentive, but not overly so. Just got the right balance. Great ambience & great décor. Everything a country pub should be. We especially loved the big settee in front of the fire. Only disappointment was that there was only one (poor) cask ale on out of 3 pumps. Disappointing. Overall though, a great night out. Will definitely return.
Food was nice and prices were reasonable. First waitress was a bit abrupt but overall the places had a good atmosphere and I would visit again.
Excellent service, the staff are all very attentive and helpful. Food choice was varied and we left clean plates all round. A cosy welcoming pub, we will be back.
Excellent food. Dog friendly. Lovely staff. They go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your meal. Would recommend The Hinds Head to anyone.
We went for Valentines night and had the 3 course special menu. It was very good valueEvery course was well presented and delicious. The service was efficient and friendly, we had a most enjoyable night.
Cosy little gem, excellent food, lovely service too! Very happy sitting in front of the fire, served by friendly staff (even got to try a sample cocktail) lovely wine and fabulous meal! Bravo 👏🏼
Absolutely beautiful Valentines Day Lunch. From the food to the service it was perfect. It’s our go to place to eat out and never disappoints
Great, warm and friendly service and excellent food. Never been let down when we've eaten at The Hinds Head. and would highly recommend a visit here
Wasn’t seated till nearly half a hour or more after our time when we did sit down we didn’t get to order our food till 20 minutes or more after and then it took ages to come . But the food was nice just the service wasn’t too good and very slow .
Top qualify food, very friendly and helpful staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Love the decor theme too and the cosy fire area. Will definitely be eating here again.
Lovely meal as we have found on this and previous visits. Table allocated was not very good. Right near door. Absolutely freezing every time door opened. Must have been worst table position in restaurant with a lovely white twig tree directly at side/back of chair difficult to get in and out. Asked to be moved and given a much better table. So it turned out perfect in the end. Singer on too. Definitely would recommend. Service a little slow but in all fairness was very busy with a few large groups in.
Took my parents for a Birthday meal and it was fabulous! Sitting by a real fire with a glass of wine on a Friday evening was bliss for pre dinner drinks. Was shown through to our table and had an amazing feast! Well done Kevin and all the staff!
Fantastic home cooked food from an excellent team ! Always very very tasty food ! Worth traveling to ! Kevin is a great chef love his food
