We went as a family group of 8 and enjoyed a really fab Sunday roast: giant Yorkshire, loads of meat and vegetables cooked to perfection.

Booked the Christmas Menu for a party of 8. Portion sizes reasonable and food exceptional. Also had offer on cocktails at 2 for £10. Staff friendly and accommodating.

Food is just about average. Lacks atmosphere. Train staff that if they spill a drink on your table then they should wipe it up and apologise. Sorry for being so negative but disappointed.

We had some friends over from Ireland and they asked us to book our favourite local restaurant. We were accompanied by our sons family including his 2 young children. Not only was the food excellent but all the staff were attentive and professional. We shall certainly recommend the Heaton to our friends. Thank you !

Booked a table for Sunday lunch with my partner, we both chose 2 courses, 2 Chicken wings starters and 2 Roast Beef lunches, when the starters arrived (very generous portions) we joked that we would have been better off ordering 1 to share, our concerns were unfounded as they were so tasty we polished them no time, and yet still thoroughly enjoyed our Roast Beef and Giant yorkie, even finding room for a pudding to share mmmm. Can’t wait to go back.

Lovely staff. Great food. Good service. Only drawback was that as 3 “Oldies” our table was surrounded by families with lots of kids and it was very noisy and we could hardly speak to each other

Excellent food, would like to see a more varied menu. Expected there to be more people in there on a Friday evening at 6pm but it was quiet and lacking a little atmosphere, filling up as we were leaving though.

The pub has been transformed and the layout of the whole pub is brilliant. Staff very friendly and the Sunday roast was delicious. Maybe throw in a few more additions of craft beer in cans? No air con?

First time at The Heaton and will definitely return. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Con - It was only 4.30pm on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant had taken off 3 Main dishes, 2 which we would have chosen because they had ran out which was disappointing.

We ate at 530 on Saturday evening, there was plenty of empty tables in my eyeline throughout meal, despite this Service was chaotic and lacking, staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing. They have just recently opened so with more time and training I hope this will improve. No one asked if we were enjoying the food, I had to chase staff for ordering son’s free dessert, more drinks and the bill. I saw other tables around me have similar experiences. In terms of the food, I would rate it as average pub food. The burger was too small for the bun and more ‘meatball like’ according to my husband. The plate needed coleslaw or something else on the plate; it looked very sparse with just burger and chips.I had gammon and was disappointed that both. Fried eggs were served hard. We were also served two small condiment jars; I would have asked for more had I been able to get any the staff’s attention. Praise for the children’s meal, very good value, and the young waitress that did most of our service was very kind and friendly to my child.

Menu OK but not wide variety of options. Charges for sides are made which makes things more expensive. The food was good and service friendly. Drinks seemed quite dear

The food was lovely and the service very good. The live music was a good idea but far too loud for the number of people in the pub.

First time we’ve visited since it reopened as The Heaton. Made the reservation for 4pm on Sunday, not sure it was required as it was fairly quiet. Food was decent and so was the service. The only negative I’d say about the place was that we were originally sat at a table for 2 which was directly in front of the open French doors leading to the outside space. Not ideal for a number of reasons mainly being that we were in everyone’s way that wanted to pass through and we were close to smokers......I’m 7 months pregnant so far from ideal!!

First time we have been in since the refurb and name change. Really nice interior and outside seating area which gets the sun in the early evening, bonus ! Although there are umbrellas if you prefer shade. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back :)

Went for Sunday lunch with family and friends.booked on line same day without a problem.Great service and food excellent. Waitress attentive but not pushy at all. Portions were very big indeed for the Sunday lunch and son had mac and cheese with added chorizo, which he really enjoyed. Overall cost was £20 per head which I thought was excellent value for money. We will be going back!
