Brilliant as always! Love chilli paneer, jingha tandoori, keema peas, takha dhal. Plus a Kathmandu beer. Staff are fab too. Have been going there for 18 years.
Excellent service and perfect food. This place gets everything right from quality of food, consistency of presentation and flavour and choice of wine. A lot of similar restaurants can do hot spicy dishes well as the GK does but none can present the mild and medium choices with the same unerring skill in the balance of the sauces and cooking of lamb and chicken.
The food and the service was excellent, however the table we were seated at was very small in the corner of what was essentially an empty room and this had a detrimental effect on the overall experience.
It was a really busy evening and the service was very rushed. A pint of beer got knocked over by the waiter who was rushing around too much and one of our party's meals was forgotten about - he had to wait a while. The food is always great quality.
I have been eating here for over 25 years. Always excellent... Food and service, the best in Manchester You must have the Chicken Makhanwala. Trust me!
Excellent, authentic and still the best curry house in West Didsbury. The standards and service is still as good as it was the last tonne Oates there 20 years ago.
Lovely food as ever. Slow service but they were quite busy I guess. Not the cheapest but worth the money I think. Try the Aloo Chilli if you like a spicy starter it's awesome!
Food, service, and atmosphere were great! Friendly and attentive staffs!
Great food. No fuss. I would Highly recommend it. Great for the whole family. Kids enjoyed it. And they have Kingfisher - best beer in the world.
5 Star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As always!! I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years. Without doubt this is the best curry house in Manchester...... !
The food and service were wonderful, this was our first time there, we’ll be back many more time’s in the future. Thanks to their people who recommended this place to us.
The food was good. Service was fast and polite but not friendly. Experience was marred by the presence of four loud and foul mouthed men on a nearby table. Don’t think we will be returning.
Decent food but terrible service. We were stuck upstairs and forgotten about, it was over an hour before we had starter. The young servers didn't have much of a clue at all leaving piles of dirty plates on tables through the meal.
Best chicken Jalfrezi in Manchester now as it was the last time we visited 30 years ago when it was only a third of its current size. Great food, service spot on, still family run and great value for money. 100yards from Burton Road team station as well!
Food was very good and portion sizes were very large , good prompt service and plenty of helpful staff on hand to help you if required
Been here loads of times and really enjoyed the food and service, would have gave it a better rate, but food wasn’t hot tonight, just like warm
This restaurant serves excellent food and we've been coming here for years. Can get very busy and the service sometimes suffers as a result. Don't let that put you off though because the food is worth it.
Food was ok. Service was nor great. People who came in after us were finished there meal by the time our starter came out.
Fabulous food - Service a little slow - ordered drinks a couple of times and took a long time to actually get them we had to remind them on both occasions.
Excellent food and service as usual and a very good atmosphere which is unlike most other places particularly midweek and we come from all over Stockport and Warrington
Best curry in West Dids! Do yourself a favour and go now. Chilli Paneer is a must, staff are ace and the Kathmandu Lager is great!
Food was fantastic as always, service also great. Can't wait to go back again, anyone who hasn't been yet, you're missing out massively! See you soon!
Great good, great customer service in a great location! Always recommend to friends and family. Sometimes it's useful to book on Friday and Saturday evenings as it can get busy.
Delicious, tasty, hot, appealing looking tasty food which arrived quickly with polite and friendly service. Good atmosphere, reasonable prices. Definitely will return as itcwas a lovely experience and not too far away from my home.
The restaurant was great. The service also. Great atmosphere. Not too noisy. We enjoyed our meal and think about to come back soon. Very nice.
The food was lovely and service was very good. It was nice that the waiters recommended dishes that we might not usually try. Very helpful and an enjoyable evening.
Excellent curries, in my opinion the best in south Manchester. The chilli paneer is especially tasty, even though I am a meat eater! Very spicy though, be careful!
Good Atmosphere in the restaurant for a Wednesday evening ! The staff very efficient and friendly plus the food was excellent. Metro Station nearby which is a bonus as the parking is a slight problem.
I have been going to The Great Kathmandu for almst 20 years and every time it's a pleasure, the food and service is always great.
I have been going to this restaurant for at least 15 years and it has never failed to disappoint. Quality food and service every time. I would highly recommend the Makhan Chara.
Best meal had in long time everyone left full and couldn't stop talkin about how nice the food was staff were also faultless will be returning soon xxx
Wide ranging abd interesting menu. Really good food. Service polite and prompt -also great fun and engaging. Excellent value. A visit is highly recommended. Enjoy
Fantastic food as always. By far my favourite restaurant. I'll be back next month. If you go, be sure to try the lamb chops. And katmandu beer.
Simply a class act restaurant; speedy service, great staff, Vibe and delicious food! Have been going for many years and always recommend it highly - for special occasions or when grabbing a quick bite to eat
Once again we were very well looked after and the food and customer service was superb. One of the best Nepalese restaurants in Manchester in my opinion
Food was average tonight as used to a higher standard and the service was efficient lacking any empathy. Would prefer more choice of wines on the menu.
Friendly, efficient and great food. We were a party of 12 ranging from a 7 month old to 70 yrs and everyone had a great meal.
Convivial atmosphere, attentive waiters, reasonable bill, scrumptious food! What more can one ask? Well, one thing. The wine was a disappointment, we chose the S African Shiraz. Not a patch on its Australian counterpart, started rough and had only marginally improved by the end of the bottle. It felt like the sort of bottle you could pick up at a cut-price outlet for £2.99. Those of us drinking it agreed, a £4.99 equivalent from say Aldi or Lidl would be much better and surely at £16.95 the restaurant could afford that slightly reduced profit-margin. It didn't spoil the meal though, which was top-notch.
The mackerel starter was a little burnt and dry and not as well marinated as usual and the lamb in one of the dishes was a little tough but otherwise usual good standard
Service fine, food OK but much better places to go in Manchester. Pretty good value for money (perhaps we just chose poorly?) Overall, not bad
Excellent food, efficient and friendly service. Worked hard to meet our requirements despite busy Saturday night. A fussy friend was delighted with his tandoori fish.
Great food deco dark and old but the food was lovely. Service was a little too formal unfriendly at times. Busy place. So tables are near each other
Busy Nepalese restaurant with a lively atmosphere. Decor is bright with a welcome nod to Indian restaurant style of the 80s. Service is efficient and friendly. Food is exceptional, with all 6 dishes on our table very different-unlike many lower end Indian restaurants where most dishes seem to be produced from a single common base sauce. We have been coming here for years. Standards are consistently high.
I would highly recommend The Great Kathmandu. The food is exceptional and the service is always great too. We go here quite frequently and it never fails to disappoint!
Very good food but they are not prepared to deviate from the menu at all. Service very efficient but waiters quite grumpy! Lighten up a bit!!
Good service, friendly staff. Good food arrived promptly. some times difficult to park in the area unless you use the metro when the station on burton road is quite close.
good service and very tasty food. it is always full and is close to pubs and bars so very convenient. Will go again and enjoy the varied menu.
The food was great, staff were very friendly and the prices were reasonable. We had a lot of fun and will be going again in the future.
Really nice place for curry, both dishes we ordered (mixed tandoori masala and tarka dhal) very tasty and filling. Price reasonable. Easy to get into on Saturday night despitw being popular
My first visit to Kathmandu on a very busy Saturday night. Very rushed and mains delivered to the table whilst eating starters. Food tasty though.
