Arrived with no one to speak to for at least 5 mins. Shown to table and left there for ages with no menu or request for drinks. Arrived at 1.15, started to eat at 2.15!! Service was none existent
Food was below average. Staff were pleasant but there was no managerial presence and the place lacked atmosphere as there were only three other tables eating. Very disappointing.
Thoroughly enjoyed the evening... lovely food, ambience and service. It was my first visit (with a friend) but will definitely return, probably with hubby very soon
Lovely interior. Good food and good service. Soya would be great please!
Generally a pleasant evening given the fact that we had a Groupon voucher. Had to wait for table - not a problem. Several items were not available from the set menu meaning that there was quite a limited choice. Waitresses friendly as ever.
Compared with previous visits, the food was good, how vegetables are served as changed. Service between courses seemed longer than previous.
It was very busy when we first arrived but quietened down later. Lack of soft furnishings is the main reason for noisiness I think. Background music was not at all intrusive. Staff all very pleasant and friendly.
Great food friendly helpful Staff. We really enjoyed the experience
Overall nice food and friendly staff but a little disappointed with the wait for dessert but wouldn't put me off going again
My husband is currently having chemotherapy and has to have his food bought straight from kitchen to table piping hot without it sitting on the passé. I requested this when we arrived and the staff were extremely helpful and did everything they could to make sure he got his food first. The food was perfect. We were with another couple and they also enjoyed their food. We will certainly be returning more often
We have never been to this restaurant before. Absolutely rate it the atmosphere was relaxing, great food and service. The cocktails was top notched too. We will return.
visited for Sunday lunch - excellent food, wine and service
We have been to the Four Stones a couple of times and unfortunately our experience this time was not good and because of this we will not be returning. We were given the wrong menus and only told this after ordering when a waitress came out to say that the fillet steak was not on the menu, we then had the waitress come out again to say that the potato cake starter was also not on the menu. On the second time of re-ordering we asked if everything else was on the menu, we were told yes however when the two salmon mains turned up they were with boiled potatoes in mayonnaise with onion instead of crushed baby potatoes. We were offered some plain potatoes on the side which we both agreed to, when they came out there were plain potatoes in one dish and sliced potatoes again with onion on top in the other. The tart main was raw and the egg not cooked which had to be sent back. We waited 1 hour 45 minutes for our main course, the service was very slow. Although the staff were apologetic and the Manger did offer a discount, this came with an excuse about the chef being new. In all honesty apart from the tart being under cooked the problem was not with the chef but with the service, we would have appreciated a simple apology for the catalogue of errors and a discount without a weak excuse. Very disappointed.
Visited often and always delivers on quality food, service and ambiance!
Had a fabulous meal fine my mom’s birthdays lovely staff, relaxed atmosphere and super food will definitely go again
try to visit the four stones at least every four weeks, always receive a warm welcome from the manager and staff, food is good quality and value for money
Excellent food and nice venue in the conservatory with good service
Awesome. Friendly staff, great food, lovely location. A new favourite.
Lovely little place in a beautiful location. Cheese board is delicious!!
Arrived early, one of our party still to arrive, seated straight away. Looked after well without being rushed. Fabulous meal. Most impressed with menu choices. Will return definitely. Just checked open lunch times.
Getting better just little way to go not far off
Friendly staff, good atmosphere. Food well cooked and very tasty.
I've been to the Four Stones twice in recent months for evening dinner & was impressed so I thought I'd take the family for Sunday lunch. It was very disappointing. My starter (pate) was bland and the main courses (all roast dinners) were more like a school dinner than fine dining. Sweets were OK. Sorry but I'll not be returning for a while, at least not on a Sunday lunchtime
Travelled a fair distance to try this restaurant,So disappointing, won't be returning
We had the private room upstairs and it was very good. Overall the food was good the lamb portion just seemed to be very small
Great service, very tentative and the food was top drawer
Lovely food, great friendly service and reasonably priced, a nice experience
We were a party of 6 and thought the food to be mediocre, certainly not worth the price. A few of the waitresses could have smiled more, the boys were lovely, the pregnant lady very good. We wouldn’t recommend or return.
Great food in a lovely little place with nice staff we’ll definitely be coming back
Be very careful could not eat there as I booked up on line not by phone the manageress was so obnoxious she was unbelievable I had to rebook to use my voucher that I had on Groupon I dred going
Enjoyed the evening, food good and we weren't rushed to leave.
The chicken was very nice and my wife really enjoyed the potato cakes.
Great food and service, would recommend this restaurant and definitely will go back again!!!
Felt like a second class citizen as we were hidden away in the conservatory with 2 other couples who also had the groupon deal.. thought the food was average, would have been extremely disappointed if I had paid £50, was just about worth the £23.00 which I had paid...my son had the streak which was overpriced at £17 it came with some Luke warm very unpleasant chips and to add insult to injury was charged £1.50 for a bit of tomato sauce.... one of the waitresses was very sullen and had obviously not had any training in how to serve and communicate with customers.. so all in all was very disappointed and will not be visiting this restaurant again ...
Good food, good pint of Cafferys but very poor atmosphere.
Lovely meals excellent service friendly staff will definitely be going back
Excellent food and excellent service, will definitely go there again..10 out of 10
First visit to the Four Stones. Very impressed from start to finish. Good variety in the menu and food was very good quality. Staff were excellent. Friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back
Excellent food attentive staff. Value for money. Definitely worth a visit
Great food. Great atmosphere. Love the freshness of the food and the changing menus.
Meal was absolutely fine, would happily book again. Staff were most helpful and very polite.
Food was lovely, restaurant is very nice, was disappointed by the attitude of one of the waitresses, I think she was the head waitress who took the orders rather than the other friendly girls who brought the food over etc.
Not very impressed by food. Service quite good. Would have liked opportunity to upgrade to full menu if possible.
Very friendly staffs, food was delicious, it was a pleasant meal. They also adapted well to our autistic son requirement.
Pleasant experience all round. Very friendly staff and the food was nice. Definitely not from a packet. Deco is amazing
Service was rude, unprofessional and stroppy. Made to wait an unreasonable amount of time to order and get mains. Food was good but comparing it to what was paid, it wasn't good value for money. We ordered to well done beef and 1 rare, we got 2 rare and 1 well done, no check back to ensure it was correct. The gravy was bland and lumpy. Overall disappointing and won't be returning
Couldn’t fault anything it was great would go again anytime
Enjoyed my meal last night & still great value with the Groupon Voucher but we visited in February & I thought it was exceptional that night. Its still good but I'd say that neither the menu or the food could be considered exceptional last night
Lovely food and nice choices, staff also friendly will definitely go back soon.
Beautiful setting and service was great very attentive staff clean and comfortable
