The Fountain at Clent

Amazing restaurant, the lamb pot roast is simply the best I’ve had.

Having visited a number of times previously we’ve enjoyed the quality and value for money. However on this occasion it didn’t come up to their usual standard. We checked the menu prior to booking only two hours before our reservation and an expectation as to what we would choose. The battered fish turned out to be haddock rather than cod as displayed on the menu. I usually have fish but was tempted to the roast pork to find that too was not available. The starters were fine, however, the battered fish was very disappointing due to the mediocre and thin portion size. This was exacerbated by seeing another diner at the next table tucking into a much larger fish which over hung the oval plate. At the end of the meal on being asked by the duty manager had we enjoyed it , he made the excuse that the cod listing was an error made by “ those upstairs “. Regarding the portion size no comment was made. On our next visit we will loose our English reserve and comment about the meal at point of service if we are unsatisfied.

Wonderful place. There’s always a warm welcome and the food is just fabulous. We took friends with us today - their first time - but I have a feeling they will be returning! Only “problem” was that it was a bit cool inside - but we can hardly blame the management for the drop in the outside temperature!

Have been trying to get a table here for some time, today did not dissapionte, service warm and friendly food appeared in no time at all and choice and food excellent . Will hopefully be able to get in again soon.

Not our first visit and definitely will not be the last. Certainly not the cheapest restaurant but you get what you pay for. Staff very attentive and cheerful. Very relaxed experience.

Very good meal. The choice on the Fixed Price Menu excellent. Managed 3 courses, which is unusual. Beer good. Very good service. Food very good, enjoyable and large portions. Best course had be starter of goats cheese.

Service prompt and lovely staff. Food fresh and hot - and lots of it!! One of those rare places where you get more than you can eat. 😂

We have been to the fountain before and it never alters the staff are always very pleasant and the food is excellent all fresh vegetables and there is plenty of them the menu is impressive and the desert’s are out standing

Came for my birthday meal with 3 friends on Saturday 26th February and everyone had a great time We were welcomed very friendly and quickly shown to our table Staff were very friendly, polite and most helpful Food and Service were excellent Personal menu on table was a nice touch When I do go out for a meal on special occasions the Fountain has always been my favourite place to dine and that opinion hasn’t changed Thank you

Normally the food is outstanding but unfortunately tonight was not so good. 2 of our party ordered the lamb which was inedible even with a steak knife!!

First visit to The Fountain and would certainly go again. Great big portions, tasty beers and not bad price. £60 for two starters and mains plus a few pints. lovely location & ideal for a walk afterwards in the evening.

Fabulous meal great service. Did feel a bit rushed this time with dessert, waiter questioned how long we have table for told her we still had 1 hour left she didn't take our word for it and went to check.

Our first time at the Fountain since restrictions started easing. We had been concerned that they might not have been able to maintain their old standard of excellence, but not to worry! Our meal was amazing, and the service was beyond reproach. This is our favourite place for a great meal out.
