The Fountain at Clent

Think the fountain is a victim of own success. Dont know if they were short staffed, but service was very slow and got drinks order wrong and missed someone out completely. The pate starter plate arrived, without the pate!!! We ordered only 3 teas, five arrived; we ordered only three sweets and then when we had paid the bill and about to leave, two other sweets were brought to our table! Food was ok. Dont think I will be going again.

Lovely pub. Create food. Attentive but slow service. We had a lovely meal but the place was packed so there was a long wait for food and drinks to be served

As usual, food excellent, staff excellent and ambiance spot on. There’s so much good food to choose from on the menu, that it can be a chore to choose😂

Food and service overall was excellent. However only disappointing thing was when I called to confirm the table I was told we could only have it for 2 hours due to other bookings after. This was fine and I understood. However the last 30 minutes of our time we were 'checked on' by 3-4 different staff members constantly and it was clear we were being encouraged to leave. After finishing deserts I would say we didn't stay any longer than 15 minutes finishing drinks and just enjoying having a family meal. But all of us noticed it and felt uncomfortable and rushed away. The meal was to celebrate my upcoming pregnancy and show my father and grandmother scan photos and talk about the experience. It was a real shame the end felt this way. I have eaten at The Fountain around 3-4 times over the past couple of years and always enjoy the food and experience. I am only mentioning this as I think it needs to be highlighted and further training given to staff who may not have thought about how rude it appeared. We wouldn't have gone over 2 hours and left at 4.20pm from our 2.30pm table so it was Just uneccessary and disappointing.

I love this place. Excellent food. Fixed price menu very good value for money. The staff are lovely and provide excellent service. All in a lovely country setting. Great to sit in the beer garden chilling out afterwards.

A great meal with excellent service, the table staff were there if needed but otherwise left us alone to enjoy our meal and the chef really knows his trade. Really impressed.

We did not enjoy the food as much as we do if we go on a Saturday evening so will not be doing sundays again

Service not as good as it’s usual standard at all had to wait for childrens meals whilst others sat going cold. Food also ‘nice’ but nothing special as it always used to be. Diasappointing , been going for nearly 20 years.

Lots of choice on the menu. Food was really good with veg, chips and dauphinoise potatoes included within the price of the main meal. Will definitely come back.

The Fountain is a lovely, cosy pub. The menu has something for everyone from traditional to more adventurous, the food is delicious and well presented. Staff are welcoming, polite and friendly. I highly recommend this venue.

The service and the meal was first class. I had the lamb which just fell of the bone. The vegetables were lovely and hot. I was really too full for desert but we just couldn't resist.. It was another great birthday meal.

Love the food been a few times now staff are always helpful you need to book thou as not to be disappointed unless you just want to chill outside with drinks & bar food

I cannot fault the Fountain at all, every time I have visited for Sunday lunch the quality and quantity of the food is constantly superb, the waiting staff are very professional and attentive, this is what I require from a restaurant and why I keep going back.

We were looking for somewhere a bit special for my sons 40th birthday party and the Fountain met all our expectations in terms of service, ambiance and in particular the food was excellent.

Great food, fab service from russ and the staff. A trusted favourite as always had fab meal and service. Great surroundings and love verandah out front.

Exceptional this evening, the salmon in the crab sauce was delicious. As always the staff are so warm, friendly and welcoming. I would always recommend the Fountain to anybody.

Friendly welcoming staff, first class service with first class food. Nothing is to much trouble. They have thought of everything to make sure the customer is comfortable which includes having a curtain across the door to prevent any draught. Would highly recommend.

The welcome we received was very good and we were quickly seated and attended to. There was a very good choice of food which was well cooked and presented. A very enjoyable lunch and considered it to be good value.

As always, a warm welcome, in a cosy environment with excellent food. We dined from the price fix menu for early diners which is good value @ £15.99 for 2 course or £18.99 for 3 course with friendly efficient service , lovely !...

We went for Sunday lunch and it was busy. That said, the staff were friendly and attentive and our drinks orders were taken almost immediately after being seated. We didn’t have starters. Our mains included the lamb shanks and roast beef, which were enjoyed by all. The lamb was melt-in-the-mouth as described on the menu. Desserts were great - with the option to have a “whole” dessert or 3 smaller ones, which we all opted for because the selection was good and we couldn’t choose just one. We weren’t disappointed as they were delicious - as was the dessert wine we had and the coffees we ordered afterwards. The staff were efficient with management presence throughout and it was clear that high standards were expected from their team, which impressed. The place itself was well presented and clean both inside and out. We enjoyed our afternoon and we shall certainly return to The Fountain again.

The food was great but we did feel a bit rushed as it arrived very quickly.The location is loveky but because the Resturant is quite small it does feel cramped and where ever you sat it felt like you were sitting in the way.
