The Fountain at Clent

Have eaten here many times over the years, but the whole place is looking tired and needs freshening up and the food which has always been great in the past fell short on this occasion . Service however was still great .

Excellent , from Staff who greeted us arrival ,Staff who waited on us from start to finish . Menu was top class even the "Prix Fixe Menu " which our party chose . All 3 courses were excelent and thoroughly enjoyable . Good value for money .Our party will return We would rate this venue as 11 out of 10.

Another great experience at The Fountain. wonderful food and service offering a higher standard than many of the, so called, fine dining restaurants. Been visiting here for 50 years since the days of "Chicken n chips" in a basket and hope to visit many times more.

Everything was superb, service, food, wine. Great evening thank you to the team. When we arrived our table was ready, and we were expected, the menu has numerous new additions. Fish lovers dream which is rare in the Black Country, sea food chowder was lovely and the option of bread type was offered.

Food was excellent as always. Hot, tasty and plenty of it. Lovely staff always pleasant and helpful. This place should be on everyone’s bucket list.

The food was excellent as usual. However, the restaurant was very crowded and the table was a bit cramped for four people and on the way to the toilets.

Haven't been here for ages wanted something special for my partners birthday you didn't disappoint hospitality and food we're fantastic will defiantly be returning also found online booking really easy

the usual top standard of service and food, some new ales to sample both of which are very nice indeed, i really cannot ever find fault with the fountain

First time for us but family has been here before and well recommended. We enjoyed the welcome and service and the staff were very affable, friendly and helpful. Food was very good and menu varied. Excellent.

Super cosy restaurant. Quaint surroundings and excellent food and service. Some unusual items on the menu - the curried cod was wonderful. Would definitely visit again. In a great location for walking the Clent hills.

Great service and food. Its very intimate in here but we knew this before we booked. Will keep on going back to The Fointain for special occasions.

Great food, very attentive staff . Prawns starter is amazing and lamb and halibut mains were really tasty. Good wine. Tried the Spanish coffee for a change.

Absolutely fabulous meals plenty of choice and you get such a generous portion also lovely and fresh. Staff were great nothing too much trouble a very nice atmosphere all round will definitely recommend and will certainly be back thank you all.

We went here for my wife's 40th birthday, we enjoyed the top quality food, excellently cooked and served. Very friendly serving staff. Not overly formal and added lots of humour to the experience.

Ambiance and staff helpfulness was as usual excellent. The menu on this occassion wasn't quite as good as previous visits however accept that other tastes and palettes might have a different viewpoint.

It wasn't very warm inside.Have had better meals here. The vegetables WERE cooked as we asked them to be which is a plus. I felt there was far too much bread offered with my parfait starter (but I suppose better than not enough!) and found my chicken fricassee rather dry. My husband enjoyed his duck though.

Fabulous home cooked food with exceptional service, vegetables and meat cooked to perfection and the home made soup and bread really good. Nothing negative would highly recommend.

Best gastropub locally. Always busy so book well ahead . The atmosphere always friendly. Staff very professional. Everyone goes for the food, which is outstanding, not the legroom.

Excellent, tasty, and exquisitely presented food made more enjoyable by the friendly courteous service. This was my third visit and I enjoyed it just as much as the previous two occasions. Will definitely be visiting again in the not too distant future.

Friendly welcome, attentive (but not intrusive) service, good quality food, fresh and flavoursome steamed vegetables (replenished at no extra charge), a goodly range of beers and wines. The signature dish is the slow-cooked shoulder of lamb, served quartered or in halves. You must try this as it is exquisite.

Excellent choice, excellent service and beautiful cooked. So so so much more than 'pub grub'. We will certainly be returning soon. The beer was good as well!

Excellent food served hot and quickly. The ambiance of the pub is wonderful you will need to book early to reserve a table for Sunday lunch.

Excellent lunch. Went with three friends. All had set three course menu. Food was absolutely lovely. The atmosphere of this restaurant is great and the staff are friendly and professional. Will be going back as soon as possible.

The food has been consistently good over the years at the Fountain. The manager and staff are always so friendly and provide great service. They change the menu frequently and always print your name on the menu, which is a lovely personal touch.

Never fails to please. We took our neighbour who thought how friendly and attentive the staff were and also how well the food was presented.

Has the chef changed? We come here quite regular and always have the fillet steak and it’s always beautiful, but this time not so good, the steak wasn’t up to usual quality and my mushroom in red wine sauce was devoid of mushrooms and there wasn’t enough sauce on the plate to finish the steak with! I also ordered a dessert and had to remind the waitress that I had ordered it as I waited an eternity for it. Hmmm, hope it was just a one off!!

Wonderful food as usual and a good table not too close to all the other diners so a great experience had. Would highly recommend to family and friends.
