The Fountain at Clent

Food was lovely as usual. But when booking asked not to sit by the door. On arrival that was exactly where we were sat. It was cold, draughty and uncomfortable which completely spoiled our meal.

My wife and I have been many times to the Fountain as always it was another fantastic meal we look forward to our next visit in 2017

Great service, excellent food. Could do with a little more lighting and the tables were awkward to sit at because of the leg design, but minor issues, and will definitely be going back.

A lovely friendly atmosphere with fabulous tasty cuisine!! The service was very good and brilliant value for money. This was our second visit and we will definitely be going back again! Would definitely recommend a visit.

As always an excellent meal. The fountain always provides great food and great service. The staff are always available but never intrusive. Would highly recommend.

3rd time here now for me and my partner and we always have a pleasant experience, food again was great and given more if it wasn't enough and service was very good. Highly recommend.

Never disappointed always excellent food and service, staff very friendly and always busy when ever you go so it's a must to book. No more to say it speaks for it self excellent!

The food is delicious, the portion sizes are just right to leave you full but not uncomfortable. The service is excellent, the staff are very attentive and friendly. It's a lovely place with a relaxed atmosphere

I have eaten at The Fountain at least three times last year, with my husband and sometimes with friends. This time I visited on the 6th January 2017 with three other family members. My fellow diners had the steak, the chicken and the fish pie. The steak was perfectly well done as requested. The fish pie and the chicken in a tomato sauce were also said to be delicious. I am a vegetarian and my only reservation is that the four times I have been in the last 12 months, I have had the same meal, Goat's cheese Wellington. Although there are three choices on the menu (2 more than many other places) the Wellington is the only meal I think goes with the accompanying steamed vegetable, dauphinoise potatoes and the delicious twice cooked chips. The other alternatives being curry and pasta. Having said that, I wouldn't like to take away a point as the choice of lagers, two of my guests were offered and the friendly service we always get and the assiette of desserts are all worth that extra point. I've already booked again for our wedding anniversary in February.

Great food, good menu. Excellent, friendly attentive staff. Lovely location, easy to park. Will definitely be going back. Easy to book online, but book early, it's in high demand.

Great attention to detail with a superb, albeit somewhat limited lunchtime menu.Staff however are not on top of their game all the time, i.e. steamed veg did not arrive with our meals and when reminded quite amazingly they forgot to bring it again! This was our 4th visit ,so I must like it, but the cracks are beginning to show. Will leave it for a while now as their super offer is starting to fade.

Lovely homely feeling, brilliant food, excellent friendly service and great value for money, we will be back again real soon. Top marks The Fountain and staff !!

Beautiful food lovely home cooked, service was fabulous... would definitely recommend, the pub was fantastic really enjoyed the night.... price was good and portions was just right... best steak I've had better than Marco Pierre whites.

Good traditional pub food and famous lamb shoulders. Just the job to take overseas visitors to a beautiful part of the region and eat tasty food. The fish last night was cooked to perfection.

We enjoyed our first time here very much, food was great and service was excellent. We have been again since and just rebooked again today. Highly recommended.

Excellent Sunday lunch, good varied menu, plenty of choices for vegetarians and fish lovers too & top service. We will definitely recommend to anyone who wants home cooked fresh food in cosy surroundings

Had a very pleasant meal for our date night. The lamb shoulder was exceptional good. Starters were lovely (Beetroot Gravadlax and Pate). Waiters were efficient and polite.

We went to celebrate two birthdays in our family. The staff were so friendly & helpful & the food was lovely. Definitely recommend to everyone.

A warm welcome on arrival,fantastic,quality food and excellent service.2 starters,4 mains,4 sweets and drinks for £82....we had personalised menus as we had pre booked that was a really nice touch.Would recommend and definitely return

Superb, well presented, food. Great menu choices, catering for all. Attentive staff who clearly aim to give diners a fantastic dining experience! The rooming is small but cosy with a great ambience. A must try for all food lovers.

the experience was wonderful we were greeted as soon as we walked in an the service second to non the food was served promptly and the staff were very attentive the food was equal to any five star restraint will go again.

Having chosen The Fountain for a birthday treat we were not disappointed. We both decided on the fillet steak and it is one of the best cooked steaks we have ever eaten. We had thought about going to a 'steak house' but recently they had not lived up to expectation so opted to try somewhere different. So glad we did!

Service good food good only down side was were we were sitting when the door was opened the draft was really cold .they have tried to stop it with a curtain but people leave it open

Friendly staff and lovely home cooked food in a country pub. My only comment would be is that it is quite a small (cosy) area so can get very up close and personal with your co-diners. Will need to book as gets very busy.

Consistantly high standard of food and service. Staff discreet and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Always a good selection of beers and wine.

Good menu with plenty of choice. Food was excellent and well served. Staff were pleasant and courteous despite the restaurant being full. Would recommend highly.

my first meal at this restaurant, overall, very impressed with service and the excellent quality of food. Staff were friendly but not obtrusive. Only very small down point was that although very delicious, the men in the party thought the jam roly-poly portion a bit on the small side.

went on a Thursday night, at a peak time and found the staff to be lovely and attentive, there was a great ambience, and the food and drinks were top quality . we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely visit again.

Have eaten here on a few occasions. The Fountain is a top quality gastropub, the food always well presented and of good quality. Service is also friendly and efficient. Always a couple of low gravity real ales on to compliment the good wine list too.

The food was tasty, the service was good, picturesque surroundings. The restaurant had a nice quiet atmosphere - staff attentive but not intrusive. Menu was varied and interesting.

A lovely meal, which was exceptionally well presented in very comfortable surroundings. Service was attentive without being intrusive. I would have no hesitation in recommending a visit, but make sure that you reserve a table as even on a Tuesday night they were quite busy.

Staff very friendly and professional. The food is fresh and cooked to perfection. The Sunday lunch is also superb!. Would advise anyone to go and have a meal there.

Lovely food but disappointing choice of starters. Slightly expensive for starters and desserts. Table in front of door meant we were overshadowed by large group at bar and cold draughty when people left door open. Having said that we all felt food we had was delicious
