Environment, staff, and food are all excellent. This pub is our go-to restaurant for entertaining guests, and it delivers every time. The ported Stilton on the cheese board is fantastic and recommended.

We hired the skittles room for a post christening party. Skittles was a fun activity to keep everyone busy for a day time party. The food was nice and there were a good choice of meals for vegetarians. They did forget the second pudding option but staff were friendly and this was soon rectified.

I booked the Fountain for my husbands 50th Birthday. The meal was excellent as always and we were made to feel very welcome.I would recommend this restaurant.

We are regulars and again enjoyed our meal at the Fountain. This is the first Sunday lunch we have had and we're pleased to find a full range of roast meats plus seasonal turkey. The beef was available as rare or not and the usual yummy slow roasted shoulder of lamb was also there. Menus are personalised which can be taken home as as a momento - a lovely touch. We were celebrating my daughters birthday and she not only appreciated the birthday wishes printed on the menu but also the complementary glass of prosecco. Side veg with the main are plentiful and with potatoes three ways proved more than enough. We managed the trio of deserts and rolled home happy and full. Service was exceptionally welcoming, friendly and efficient. Well done all at the Fountain.

We went for lunch with the family and there was not a single complaint out of 6 people. Excellent food and service and looking forward to our next visit.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the seating a little cramped for space, the menu had variety and was interesting with a personal touch! The food was plentiful and tasty, no complaints here!

Party of 6. We arrived on time and our table was just being prepared for us. We visit the Fountain about 4 times a year and have never been disappointed. The service is excellent and the food equally so. I always finish up having the pot roasted lamb. I really should try something different. Bit disappointed with the treacle tart on this occasion, not sure what happened to it but in fairness I should have sent it back. Going again in a couple of weeks time for another birthday.

Food and service was excellent, as always, however we were seated in the doorway and by the entrance to the bar so had people walking past us constantly.

The fixed priice menu option was great value for money. The food was well prepared and presented. Staff were very helpfull and provided a real efficient service. We were not rushed ,even thow the dining area was full . Thanks for the experience , our friends really enjoyed the occasion.

Great lunchtime meal. we both had from the Prix Fixe Menu, 2 courses for £15. Could not manage a dessert. £2 supplement for Lamb Pot Roast which was excellent. Russell, Kamarah and staff very helpful and attentive as always. Superb meal and service.

As ever the Fountain was a joyous occasion. A very busy "Valentines Day" and we were second sitting. Table was ready. the food & service were flawless and very good value for money. This place is a real gem. Came highly recommended and rightly so. Super lunch from a wide ranging menu which catered for a ceoliac without any fuss. The Lamb Pot signature dish was quite brilliant. Lovely staff and a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere. A definite return to this one is called for.

Lovely location. Very pleasant staff, nothing was too much trouble. Visited for fixed price lunchtime menu. very enjoyable experience. Would definitely return and recommend to others but book a table otherwise you may be disappointed as they are a very busy restaurant. Only negative was the fact that they do not serve coffee or tea with skinny milk!

Wonderful food as always and excellent service. The only criticism and it is being picky is that the white wine wasn't well chilled. Some like it like this but not us. That aside, The Fountain takes some beating!

As an ex sous chef of the old school, there is an ethos of food at the Fountain that uses flavour and balance, from start to finish. There's also great attention to detail in every single thing. One has a strong feeling that there is a highly trained team, from front of house and right throughout, yet is unobtrusive. It has an ambience which takes one back in time to when dinning out was not rushed, relaxing and completely physically and mentally satisfying. Room for improvement - more use of seasonal veg but overall amazingly low prices for such high standards.

Another fantastic lunch, took my new partner who had never been before and they were blown away. As always food fantastic, service fantastic and price fantastic.

The greeting was welcoming and the table was ready with only a few minutes wait. The menu was varied and the food was excellent, from beginning to end.

Staff very friendly and welcoming. Service excellent. Food was absolutely gorgeous. Recommend this place to anyone. There is an excellent atmosphere. Particularly loved the prawns in batter.
