We had a lovely time. Amazing food, great staff. Nice personal touch to the menus, food isn't rushed out, definitely recommend the fountain at clent.

The food was excellent, the staff could not have been more attentive there was only one small niggle the table that we sat at was a little to close to the other tables around making it a slightly uncomfortable. But that was all otherwise it was a lovely evening.

First time we have had Sunday lunch here, could not fault a thing. Absolutely excellent service and very good value for money. Loved the idea of a choice of three mini puddings.

Good food, good service, friendly staff, clean toilets. Would definitely go there again if i'm in the area. They bent over backwards to serve us food evn though we were late for our table.

Delicious food well presented and attentive,helpful staff. The restaurant was very full and therefore a little noisy. One thing could have spoilt our was background bom bom music but when requested was turned off. Well done everyone.

Having eaten at The Fountain upwards of a dozen times, I can say it never sisappoints. The atmosphere is relaxed, but service excellent & the food is always of the highest quality. The fresh vegetable selection, served Ina steamer is always perfect & main course come with these & gratin potatoes as well as superbly cooked chips. The menu changes regularly, but always with some old favourites holding their place. Complementary tasters while waiting for starters are a nice touch & always interesting . Only two drawbacks: the new policy of serving cheese for the cheese board in 100g portions limits choice - there really should be a better way of doing this (even if that means increasing the charge); & (but this is a drawback that is also a recommendation) you really do have to book ahead. It's rarely less than full. Highly recommended for delicious & unpretentious cooking. Three courses for two people with a bottle of wine & sparkling water for well under £100. Outstanding!

Lovely evening. Lots of food and staff always checking to make sure you have enough of the complimentary sides. Food even came with a complimentary amuse bouche of spring rolls, which was a nice touch. Good food and great service.

A true british pub. Excellent mains with plenty of vegetables. Nice addition to choose a combination of deserts. A place we would bring our family and friends time and time again.

Staff friendly, attentive and helpful. Fountain consistently good, however my sea bream on veg was watery this time and not tasty. Everything else really good.

Great food and lovely service - just a shame we were ushered out as early as we were to allow for other diners. We had only just opened our second bottle of wine and it wasn't the best weather to sit out to finish it.

First visit for around 10 years. Varied menu with excellent service. Food quality very good and nice ambience. Lack of bar seating area for pre-dining drink a minus point in my opinion but recognise there is no space for such an area. Will definitely not for another 10 years to return!! John Watts

Been to the fountain quite a few times know and every time we have been there the food is always excellent and the staff are so polite And good selection of ales as well 👍

Amazing service, food is consistently excellent, top marks all round. So many restaurants are mean with vegetables that accompany a meal, not here you are asked if more vegetables are required, but you don't need them as really good portions are given to begin with. Allyson Pitcher

Visited before - took friends this time who had never been. Everybody enjoyed the food and the staff were excellent. We all will be returning soon.

We had our usual fillet steak which was perfectly cooked and presented. The host made for a very pleasant evening with her amusing banter. We would recommend this gem restaurant always.

A lovely birthday meal at the Fountain, attentive staff and a good choice on the menu. The food was well cooked and presented. We were put on a table for 2, very close between other tables, hardly room to squeeze in, hence not full marks.

Quirky yet traditional pub serving excellent food. Friendly service in a great location. I love the personalised menu's that are always waiting for you on your table.

Fantastic service. Staff couldn't do enough. Starter was a bit bland. Main course was amazing. Shame they ran out of coffee roulade but ice cream and cheese were fabulous. Overall a really good night.

This was our second visit, and food again was fabulous. The beef was wonderful, I had it pink, and was cooked to perfection. Veg freshly cooked and tasty. The warm chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream absolutely delicious!

The Fountain is our restaurant of choice for any special occasion and whenever else I can think of an excuse to go ! Fantastic food , exemplary service and very good value for money - we have never had a bad meal - even at our WI skittles evening the food was great . Always a wonderful menu choice - the tempura prawns are just the best ! Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone for any occasion - great place to meet friends for lunch as well .

Delicious food. There is always something on the menu which is a little different to the norm. The little taster before you start is a nice touch. Excellent service and a varied wine menu on offer.

Always a fantastic choice of food and today was no exception. Brilliant menu, superbly cooked, a good choice of drinks and pleasant courteous staff. A lovely atmosphere inside the pub.

Went for Sunday lunch with friends. Good choice of starters and mains. Like choice to have three small portions for desert Only downside was one of our party had cheese and biscuits. The selected cheese was weighed to 60 gram portion, there was no more than three dairylea cheese triangles. If you wanted 100 gram of cheese it was another £2.00. The waitress advised they weighed it as cheese was expensive. I have never been anywhere in the UK or abroad where when you have a cheeseboard and the portion is weighed. Quite disappointing
