Excellent as always. Cosy, food was piping hot, nothing too much trouble.

Extremely tasty food, very efficient and friendly staff, will definitely eat there again. Wine is on the expensive side, but that usually the case in most places

Wonderful Sunday lunch as always, our favourite place to go. Special treat of Christmas pud today which was very tasty. The pork and cracking were fab.

Excellent food, amazingly friendly staff and first class service. Very busy, as one would expect this close to Christmas, but still enjoyable. The highlight of our visit is always front of house Russell, who is always very happy, often singing as he works, very polite, friendly, professional and efficient. Love this place.

The food was first class. The only problem was the meal felt rushed and to many people squeezed in a small pub. No Christmas atmosphere and No Christmas music, I would not return next year

An excellent meal and the service was amazing. One of the nicest salmon meals i have had. We were very impressed with the whole experience and will be returning.

The restaurant serves delicious food and service is fast. The steaks here are an absolute favourite. As for the desserts, the chocholate brownie is a must-try.

We went during a busy Christmas session but the service was excellent, the food lovely and the overall impression was we can't wait to go back again.

As usual great food, great service, friendly atmosphere. Would recommend the fountain for lunch, dinner or just a drink outside if you are passing on a walk with your dog.

Exceptional service and amazing food. Always made to feel welcome by the polite and friendly staff. Beef wellington is mouth watering and I could eat the dauphinois potatoes until I burst

We went as a party of 4, the food and service were both exceptional, possibly the best yuk sung and fillet steak I have ever tasted, my only criticism would be it seemed you were crammed in, I had to physically ask someone at another table to get up and move so I could get to my seat, could possibly do with losing 1 or 2 tables

We had a lovely meal as ever, however our dessert wine arrived after we had eaten our puddings. Also our food was probably not quite as lovely as it normally is.

There is no better restaurant within miles which is great if you can get a table. The lamb is to die for and the sides are superb. I tried the pasta with duck for a change last time and it was superb. The sweets are delicious and where do they source all that wonderful cheese? Highly recommended

Friendly pub full of locals. Good old fashioned home cooking with generous portion sizes, although not going to win any awards for innovation. Lunchtime menu has a wide and varied choice and is good value

Another lovely evening at The Fountain with excellent food, I had the Plaice with Salmon which was most unusual, but a fabulous combination, especially with the very tasty sauce! The staff were friendly without being intrusive, just perfect for an evening with my two friends, celebrating their birthdays and the special touch of the personalised message on the menus too. A delay on the mains, but the waitress explained that my companion's lamb would take time to cook and even came back to give an update and ETA, can't say fairer than that!

Always fabulous, great atmosphere, great food, great staff - what more could you ask for. This was probably our 5/6th visit, never disappoints - will definitely be visiting again!

Fabulous restaurant. Food was first class and service excellent. Would highly recommend. You do need to book as it gets very busy . You will not be disappointed.

The meal was only warm and the meat could have been more tender Usually the food is very good, maybe it was because it was Sunder lunch. The staff were really friendly except when I paid the bill we waited for the change but it never came. I had to ask for it in the end because my dauhgter had a ferry to catch back to the Isle of Man. I did leave a tip but it would have been nice to have the change first.

Lovely food..as always ,yet again the lamb took pride of place. A warm and friendly welcome, Russell is a wonderful host, what an asset to your establishment. Look forward to bringing our friends to your fantastic restaurant/pub.
