Excellent experience again, great food served well. This is a fantastic place for those who appreciate old fashioned quality standards. Probably most suitable for those with a more mature outlook.
One of my favourite places, always welcoming & always receive great service, great atmosphere & the food is always amazing & always fresh. Highly recommended.
Always excellent - from the location, the staff, the environment and especially the food. Give it a try , it's gourmet pub food at its best.
Loveley meal loveley staff did not have to wait for meal prise was very good I will go again staff could not do enough for you
We were slightly dissapointed with the experience here. The seating arrangement was strange but this is due to the shape of the seating area. My husband's main meal was over cooked and sent back. An eventual apology did come but it was dissapointing none the less as we ended up eating seperately. i had one drink. when my glass was collected I wasn't asked if I wanted another. the experience was all just dissapointing which is a shame after we had heard so many good things. perhaps we were just unlucky.
Really enjoyed the meal and will be going again. Excellent vegetarian range. All three courses excellent. Service prompt but discreet. Good value for a great Sunday lunch.
Excellent food and service, which made our dining experience at The Fountain at Clent, a memorable visit and we will be visiting again very soon, to enjoy what The Fountain has to offer.
Service and food was amazing absolutely no arguments there, only slight gripe would be would have liked to have sat opposite partner rather than to side due to the seating arrangement, however would not stop me returning. Pleasantly surprised by the bill too considering quality of the food.
Lovely country pub with fabulous food. The staff go out of their way to make your visit the best experience. The quality of food is outstanding and caters for many tastes and diets. I shall definately be returning. Thank you
Excellent as usual with good choice of meals across all areas of the menu and also the staff very pleasant and helpful will be booking again soon .Already booked in December for Xmas meal 24 of us will be attending that night.
We had reservations for 8 o'clock, but turned up a bit earlier than expected, but the table was ready for us. Friendly staff, and a fantastic meal. The fillet steak, cooked medium rare was one of the best I've tasted anywhere. Will definitely be going back again.
Thank you for a very enjoyable evening, superb food and friendly staff. I would highly recommend The Fountain for a special evening out with friends.
We were overcharged on the bill. We had 2-3 course for £18.95 and a soda and lime and 2 pint of peroni and was charged £59.40 that is £10 extra. We didn’t realise at first to say and thought it was to late once we had left. £10 is a lot of money to be charged extra. The service was very good if a little to fast paced and the food was good.
lovely friendly country pub - front of house staff excellent, friendly and attentive to customers - 2 course sunday lunch good value for money will definitely book again
Table was waiting for us our name on the menu was a nice touch,Brilliant service, great atmosphere and top notch food, will definitely be going back
The food was excellent but service with a smile would be nice from the waiter/waitresses. Been a few years since my last visit decor is looking tired and chairs really uncomfortable. They seem to have squashed in as many tables as possible and the waiter/waitresses were up and down passing your table to others constantly which because they are so short of space was annoying!!
Lovely cosy pub, great atmosphere and friendly staff,.. the food was great but make sure to leave room for afters, the crème brûlée is well worth it. Will definitely be back, Sunday lunch sounds like it’s worth a return trip.
Excellent food, wine and service. Very good choice of vegetarian meals and trio of desserts is recommended. Wonderful location set at foot of Clent hills.
Very friendly staff, delicious food, great ambiance. Special occasion and the person in question loved it. Will be back - the Sunday options look yum!
The score would have been six but one member of the party who was a former head chef asked for his beef wellington to be cooked rare it came well done, after bringing it to the staffs attention it was replaced with a fresh one correctly cooked except for that little mishap we were extremely happy with our visit and would highly recommend the Fountain to anyone,
Wonderful night again at The Fountain, food was exceptional (try the Duck - you won’t be disappointed) and the service was friendly and attentive as always
Perfect in every sense! Fabulous food and the customer service is second to none. We celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary and the night was perfect.
As always, the food was excellent, I can’t think of anything negative at all! the staff are great, attentive but not overly! Very friendly and nothing is too much for them.
Great venue great service great food will be using this place again and again
Fantastic. Beautiful looking, inside and out, historic pub/restaurant. Super food, great service, lovely atmosphere. What more could you want. So pleased have booked again for this Sunday (a week later) to take some other friends!
Food brilliant as ever, but my friend & I were a bit disappointed as when booking it was stated that a party of 2 was only allowed 2 hours, but if you're in a party of 3 or more you get progressively more time the more there are of you. I think it's a bit unfair that just because there are only 2 of you, you might be made to feel rushed. Fortunately we were not, but for me it was the thought that we might be, that I found disappointing, as that comment had never been made when booking previously. Also, the name of the person booking was not printed on our menus, whereas it was for a couple sitting at a nearby table, which we also found disappointing. We had previously found that a nice touch, and missed it. But the food was as wonderful as always, and that's the main thing.
Service and food where excellent as always love this place . Staff are so friendly and would highly recommend the lamb and the chocolate brownie
Had a lovely meal here on Sunday evening to celebrate my mother in laws birthday. The food was excellent and plenty of vegetables. Service I thought was a little slow but in fairness they were very busy and everything was cooked fresh. Be warned though that drinks are very expensive
Really enjoyed the night.. We decided not to have a starter because we love puddings....!!!! Our meal was lovely. I had the Beef Wellington the other guests had Chicken, Lamb and Halibut... When the Dessert menu came to us we were very disappointed with the choices.... Treacle Tart was off the menu so we had Chocolate Brownies and Sticky Toffee Pudding..... These were very disappointing too. Both were very solid in texture so much so that we left most of the portion .We would have liked custard to be available too especially with the Sticky Toffee pud....as is tradition . We did tell our waiter that we didn't enjoy the puds but he only said' perhaps we could do better next time'............ Overall we enjoyed the night but with hindsight we would have has a starter.......................
4th visit this year 2 with other party’s , once for my 80th birthday, with 14 guests. My last visit was just my wife and I for our 55 year wedding anniversary. The service on all our visits was first class. The real ale is also very good, especially the Wainwrights. Hope to visit again soon
food is always top class, the menu now has more vegan options than previously which is great, 2 new beers fountain of knowledge and fountain of youth, honestly there is nothing not to like.
Lovely atmosphere, helpful, polite and attentive staff. The food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back for more and would wholeheartedly recommend a visit here if you haven’t already been.
Service was brilliant , lovely atmosphere ,very friendly staff and the food was excellent. The lamb pot roast was divine. Will definitely book again and highly recommend .
Our second time there. Excellent food, service and ambience. Very friendly; nothing too much trouble. Even a personalised menu, as we'd booked the previous day. We especially enjoyed the good range of gluten-free options, on all courses.
Another fabulous meal here. The quality of the food is excellent, the staff are friendly and the place has a lovely feel to it. It's always busy so you have to book a fair bit in advance, which tells you all you need to know. Super!
Was Excellent! Great food and great atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and friendly indeed. Would definitely recommend to other people to pay a visit.
Absolutely fantastic. Food and service outstanding. The whole lunchtime experience was excellent from start to finish. Food was delicious and presentation exceptional. Will definitely go back.
Lovely food and very good service. Good variety of choices. Three fish dishes is always a welcome surprise! Great gin menu too which gave us plenty to celebrate!
Thank you for an excellent meal. The lamb pot roast that I had was delicious, whilst my mum's blade of beef melted in her mouth. The creme brulee for dessert was just right
Had a lovely lunch for four of us. Food plentiful and very good but think Staff could have done with being a little more friendly.
A nice place to replenish that burnt energy on the hills, a quaint little pub with a warmest of welcomes and food to match. I love the personalised reservation menu which we all thought was a nice touch. Business is not always about the cheapest, sometimes, in fact more often than not it requires a special touch in customer service which almost guarantees repeat business. Whilst we make every attempt to get to the Clent hills at least 4 to 5 Times a year, we don’t always manage to eat out, but now we have found The Fountain, we shall endeavour to book at each visit. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food served was timely and not rushed. I’d like to say a big thank you to the staff that looked after us. We really enjoyed the food, ambience and the welcome.
Lovely atmosphere and excellent food. Pleasant staff. Super choice of menus - something to suit everyone, including Vegans. Fully recommend but booking necessary and that in itself tells a story.
First visit tonight, won’t be the last superb!!! Made to feel very welcome by all of the staff, the food and service was fantastic highly recommend
Clean, cosy and welcoming. Delicious food, good service yet informal atmosphere, and now catering for vegans as well as carnivores. My favourite place to eat out.
Delicious! Family of five ate Sunday Lunch today. Great food, wonderful service. All members of our party enjoyed their dinner, now that is a result! Will return soon.
Excellent as always, staff very attentive and food was great. If I was being nit picky then the sticky toffee pudding was a little dry But the vanilla creme brûlée is so good that it made up for that.
Always a fab meal and fab atmosphere. The food is second to none and in abundance should you wish
As always, a lovely evening with lovely food! We even had a take away sticky toffee dessert for the guest who couldn’t make it
As always I can’t find fault with food, venue or staff! I can’t recommend highly enough
