Although they were busy nothing was too much trouble , even when we asked for custard with our sweets and it wasn’t on the menu they made it for us . Overall the food was excellent and so was the service

What a fantastic place, good food,drink. Each time we visit it like coming home you are made to feel very welcome.

Regular visitors so I would say the food wasn't up to the usual high standards. Roast potatoes looked and tasted as if they had been cooked for hours and Aunt Bessie's Yorkshire puddings were terrible. Hopefully a one off.

Really good service. My son and I had the lamb which was tender with an outside crispy layer. For people who have never been there you don’t know what you have missed. Book now. You won’t be disappointed

Just average service today, usually amazing. Reminds you how good they normally are here. Long ish wait to order food, they brought the wrong main for one party (replacement did come swiftly), no ask for follow up drinks, wrong bill (25% higher than it should have been) no apology or verbal acknowledgement, just brought it back and took the bill. Shame as usually bang on and I come often. Felt more short staffed than usual.

We had a wonderful evening at the Fountain on Saturday 21st December! The food was excellent and what made it for me was singing Christmas songs and carols with everyone there!l Fantastic!!

Excellent food with generous portions, and first class hospitality. The garlic bread is amazing.

Its a beautiful restaurant to spend a christmas lunch with your Mom and family. We often book the The Fountain for family occasions as the food is always cooked to perfection and the staff are extremely helpful and attentive.

Some very tasty new options on the menu,both starters and main. We were given a complementary glass of Prosecco due to the fact that we were there to celebrate my wifes birthday.Which was a very nice touch.Food was excellent as ever with lots a steamed veg and chips. All in all a very satisfactory lunch.

Good to know restaurants like this are thriving. Having arrived a little early for our reservation, due to not being familiar with the location and never been there before, my wife and I were warmly welcomed by the staff and shown to the bar whist our table was prepared. Lots of well trained polite staff, sat down bang on time and all good thereafter. Fabulous. We'll definitely be back. Well done one and all.

While a little cramped on space that is the only detraction one can level at The Fountain. The staff are excellent; food is delicious and atmosphere is lovely.
