probably one of the best restaurants i have been to in Glasgow . I had scallops with quails eggs absolutely delicious with baby garlic potatoes. We will be back
Very good service and excellent fish dishes. Raw tuna starter was fab, as was the roast stone bass. Son had the cullen skink - loved it, and the scallops with caesar salad. The chocolate mousse cake with warm caramel sauce looked absolutely wonderful - but he refused to share! Very glad we managed to get a table at very short notice.
Good service, ok food. So wouldn't rush back given quality of food versus cost. Service was ok even with 40 min wait for starters ( didn't need to be cooked). Although I didn't expect large portions they were particularly small.
With two waitresses on the service was much much better. Was told about the specials this time. Very good. All in all an excellent eating experience.
A fantastic restaurant serving excellent sea food. Staff are extremely attentive without getting in the way. Can't wait to return sometime very soon. One of Glasgow's best.
Lovely fish - with some unusual and tasty combinations, wonderful oysters, friendly service, great wine list and a fabulous dessert. Worth the trip and will definitely be back!
As always with the Fish People Cafe, very good service, very good food. One of the party rated their main 10 out of 10 and the desert as asking the best they'd had.
The fish stew is fabulous. Service friendly and efficient. Open all day on Sundays so handy when other places aren't. Second visit and would definitely recommend
Three of us made different choices and everything was beautifully cooked and presented. Service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive. Good value for money, certainly to be recommended and we will definitely return.
The Fish plaice was pleasant and a different dining experience. It wasnt a normal fish and chip type restraunt. It was a restraunt which was for those having a special treatxz
Absolutely fantastic. The seafood is locally sourced which is awesome and tastes delicious. Excellent service, the food is devine and a wonderful wine list. I will definitely be coming back!
Excellent fish and seafood, friendly, attentive service, good selection of wines by the glass, nice atmosphere, reasonable price. Very small restaurant, booking is recommended. Overall very enjoyable.
Superb food & service. We were given excellent recommendations from the staff on both food and wine. Now looking for an excuse to go back.
4 Happy diners! From mussels to lemon sole to Anglesey Sea Bass -all choices were excellent as was the Picpoul de Pinet. Here's to our next visit
Excellent food, friendly, swift and unobtrusive service, nice place to sit and reasonably priced. Location next to the subway, motorway & multistory is very convenient.
I only noticed that there were "specials" after I had ordered. When I mentioned to the waitress that she did not tell me there were "specials" she just looked at me! There was only one waitress working two might have been better. The food was good.
Food was lovely, mussel starter especially! Unfortunately we were running late for the theatre so never had time for pudding. The meal was expensive but it was top quality ingredients and well prepared. Also unfortunately the music selection wasn't to my taste but I'm sure most people probably enjoyed it (I just hate The Beatles and Elvis) Staff were great and ordered us a taxi to make sure we were okay for our evening.
The food here is amazing. The fish is just perfect. They know what they're doing in this kitchen. This is a lovely restaurant, with a very relaxed atmosphere. Great great food, great prices. Love it.
Delicious food.. But the scallops were overpriced and the portion was more like a starter. The scallops were very small and looked like they had been split in half .. The seabass was very good and definitely better value..
Nice place, easy to get to (quick subway ride from Buchanan Street), good service and EXCELLENT food. Wanted (almost) everything on the menu ... strange to see 'duck' as an option in a fish restaurant - but I suppose there's always one. Loved the place!
This was our third visit to the Fish People Cafe and once again the food and service were excellent! We really like the quiet, relaxed atmosphere in this very professionally run restaurant.
Novel, very good presentation of gravadlax, very nice cullen skink. Well presented and very nicely cooked bream and haddock. Overall, well up to their usual standard.
Food was excellent and a treat to the taste buds .Having a large appetite I found having the additional chips helped to fill me up. The only downside was the draft from the door and the service was a bit slow for the main course even though the restaurant was not overly busy. Overall the experience was good and I would recommend it if like me you are fond of fish meals.
A lovely restaurant. Small but with really nice décor. The food was terrific. Fresh with great flavours. Tried crabmeat to start along with the soda bread. Followed this with fish stew and stone bass. The wine list is pricey but the pinot grigio was really nice and fruity. Would definitely try again.
We were a group of seven and I would recommend booking. We all enjoyed our meal - the fish was fresh and perfectly cooked and we will be back for more
Quite limited menu, but enough choice. Food served piping hot and was delicious. Staff attentive. Thought portions (mussels for starter and stone bass for main) were quite small. The mussels could also have been served with some bread to soak up the sauce. Stone bass again lovely but served with a few asparagus spears a slice of black pudding and some tiny drops of piped decoration looked pretty but didn't satisfy my appetite and would have benefitted from being served with some potato/pasta/polenta or rice, without having to order extra chips. My partner's starter - prawn cocktail was standard fare. She enjoyed her crab linguine and found the portion adequate, although there didn't seem to be much crab in it.
Fantastic quality food and service. Great place. Starter of fish cake and another of crab mayonnaise excellent. Main of paper baked bass and tandoor seabass again top quality. Very well cooked, not over cooked and flavours very nicely balanced. No so keen on the desert, but we are not avid desert eaters. Staff lovely and friendly, nice atmosphere, easy to get to.
Amazing setting, small but space is well set out, you don't feel overlooked by other diners. Food was excellent and staff are great, very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be going back
Beautiful fresh fish and lovely friendly service. The mussels started is big enough for two and it was a nice cosy atmosphere, perfect for a cold windy night. So easy to get to being right next to the underground station.
Excellent food and excellent service. The lunchtime menu was not only delicious but also very good value for money at two courses for thirteen pounds.
Surprisingly small (less than 10 tables) & cosy. Very conveniently situated right next to Shields Road subway station and a multi-storey car park. After lunch you can cross the road to visit Scotland Street school (free entry). Food was very good, if a little salty. A 60's compilation as background music. Choice of sweets was interesting as too often it seems like an afterthought when you visit other restaurants. Lunch came to £60 for two people with a dish of olives for tasters and 2 starters, 2 main courses and one sweet course plus soft drinks.
Great menu with fresh seafood cooked to perfection. Nothing really to pick fault with. 2nd visit and won't be the last. Will definitely return to this place.
Food excellent, choice very good, staff attentive and very helpful. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to my friends. Overall experience was to be highly recommended.
Lovely restaurant with very welcoming staff serving tasty food. A breath of fresh air to see staff members go out of their way to help a woman and her young daughter who were stranded as their car had got locked in the car park.
This was an awesome meal and amazing wine served by a lovely crew of people. This was my second visit and won't be my last.
Second visit here. Food cooked to perfection again. Service friendly and helpful. If you like fish and seafood do not be put by the location (next to a carpark). Using the underground its in a perfect location.
Brilliant service, good atmosphere, delicious rock bass cooked in paper bag. Will return as menu changes every six weeks. Thanks to our friendly and really effecient waitress and to the kitchen staff for showing us how to make the appear bag that the fish gets cooked in.
Food and service was amazing! We had a larger party of 6 and everything was perfect from the waiting times for dinner/starters to arrive. Only one draw back.., no Irish coffee
Lovely atmosphere in this small restaurant. Staff excellent and so friendly and the food fabulous. Will go again and recommend to my friends. Thank you
Great food, lovely menue, in a small smart restaurant tucked away by an underground station . Not a cafe at all, but smart fashionable food fit for a very upmarket establishment.
Outstanding value for money! As always, the quality of the fish was superb, excellently cooked and presented. The service was also first class. All round excellent value for money!
What a great find, the food was fantastic and good value for money, interesting little place too - service with a smile and very efficient - can't fault it at all, can't wait to go back!
Great!! Service was excellent made gave recommendations that helped with our indecision as there were to many interesting options, very attentive and friendly! Food tastes amazing!!! and was presented beautifully. Would definitely recommend and I'll be heading back for sure.
We had an excellent lunch at this small restaurant, eating from the lunch/early evening menu, prior to a visit to the Scotland Street School Museum just across the road. And they have an excellent wet-fish shop in an adjacent building - that's tomorrow's meal sorted too
Great choice from Early Evening Menu Would thoroughly recommend the starter of Thai spiced poached salmon & peanut salad which was a delight. The main course of crisp fried bass fillet, roast pepper salad, olives, goat’s cheese, pesto was a fantastic combination of flavours.
Visited on a Saturday evening and as usual excellent food and attentive but not intrusive service. Would recommend booking as very popular at weekends. Thanks again for a lovely evening.
The food was of a high standard and would recommend a visit. Will be back. The restaurant was clean and tidy and the staff attentive.
Outstanding food & service, can't fault it . Have been a number of times and have never been disappointed Best restaurant for seafood in Glasgow
Great wee restaurant, decent service and excellent food. Priced slightly higher than the normal but very good wine and some nice local beers on offer too. Highly recommended.
As always an excellent meal Attentive staff, with a reasonable bill at the end Only one concern, a better quality coffee would make the restaurant perfect
