Delicious fish stew. Friendly staff. The door was very stiff and we nearly turned away as we thought it was locked. Nice decor. The tandoori sea bass could have done with some vegs with it.
This was our first visit to The Fish People Cafe, but it won't be our last. As expected it's all about fish and seafood, but there was a good choice of dishes, alll very tempting. Everything we chose was truly delicious, simply on a different level from other restaurants. This will become a favourite for future evenings out.
Small and friendly, very fresh and delicate fish flavours including curried fish. Small but adequate range of mainly white wines. We had a party of 6 and had a great time.
WE did enjoyourmeal and found the quality of food excellent. WE would ideally have liked a little more room in the restaurant to add to the ambience. STaff were friendly and helpful.
Food was very good and the service was excellent. Very helpful waiter who moved us to a different table further from the door when he noticed that my elderly mother seemed a bit cold. That action alone speaks volumes in terms of customer care. Good ambience, relaxed and enjoyable.
Meal was excellent and staff very helpful. My companion left a shopping bag behind and our waiter ran to the subway platform to catch up with us!!
A lovely little restaurant a bit off the high street but definitely worth the travel. Got the tip from a cook who told me that most professional chefs in Glasgow buy their fish at the fishmonger associated with this restaurant. Don't know if this is true, but I can very well imagine it.
Brilliant food excellent customer service wish there was one like this in Cheshire. I can't justify a 4 hour train journey every time I fancy a meal here
As ever a great night out. Fab food and attentive service. even on a busy night. Thanks again - even for the additional entertainment of R2D2
The food was great and the service outstanding. The location has been well thought out. The freshness of the fish is incredible. I would recommend this to all my friends
First time visited. Was recommended. We dined on a Saturday lunch time off the main menu and all the food was fab. Hubby had scallops and chorizo after his cullen skink. Mum had grilled sole and I had tandoori sea bass. The sea bass was best I've had and I let them know ☺️ Apparently the Bakewell tart and Tempranillo were great too. Ambience is nice, it being small and intimate. Spotless toilets. Couldn't fault it.
Great as ever. Just love the Tandoori Angelsey Sea Bass. Great little place to visit. Only a couple of stops on the subway from St Enochs centre, Shields Road, about 3mins. Brilliant food and great service. Will be back 🙂
Amazing, food was great, i had shrimp-goat cheese salad and sea bass, everything was fantastic, flavoursome, particular, really well made, super-fresh ingredents. It was worthy the money
There was an excellent choice on the menu and the food when it arrived was beautifully present and excellent. The staff were patient and friendly without being overbearing.
Quite modest looking, yet inside the decor, customer care and overall experience is beyond compare. The food offered is unparallel. We choose this place for special occasions only as we are not based in Edinburgh. Otherwise we would probably be there once a week at least.
The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed. The waitress was extremely helpful and knowledgable. The food was cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chef. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Outstanding food - perfect service. Great find in an unexpected location. Good choice of dishes and wine menu. Enjoyable lunch - will go back soon
Excellent food and service. I would highly recommend a visit to the Fish Place Cafe. The staff were knowledgeable about the merits of matching individual wines to foods. Olso a good selection of beers.
Excellent! Very good service, quick but unobtrusive. It was difficult to choose between dishes from the menu as they all looked great on paper. Presentation of every dish was to a really high standard and wonderful to eat. Delicious!
Once again thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Fish Cafe, excellent Cullen Skink with tasty stone bass we will be returning soon to enjoy the food and wine.
Very good food and service. We chose oysters, scallops and monkfish, which were fresh and delicious. Tucked away next to Shields Road subway, there is a danger of the restaurant being overlooked by those unwilling to stray away from the city centre or West End, but it's well worth a little extra effort.
Great restaurant. Peculiar location at the bottom of a multi-storey car park next to the underground however the interior is elegant and the food is great. Not the cheapest of places but quality is worth paying for
There was a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and the menu had lots of delicious options. We also had a baby with us and we were made to feel relaxed about him being there.
Amazing! Small, quiet place with great food! One of the best sea food restaurants out there for a relatively good price! If you are in town for just a few days and have only one eating option, this will defectively not disappoint!
We had an early 6.30 pm dinner. Service was very efficient and friendly and the food was lovely. Very fresh fish and excellent value. We much enjoyed the experience. If you like fish then go there.
We enjoyed our evening very much, the food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. We highly recommend this restaurant and will be back soon.
Fantastic-best meal we've had for a long time. Really friendly service, helpful staff who recommended a great bottle of wine to have with our food. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Great food, good service, casual atmosphere for a great evening out. The choice of fish is excellent and it's beautifully cooked and presented. In the middle of nowhere worth the effort getting there.
Went for lunch 5 stars here! Excellent food, prepared as it should be. Good location Will go back PS tablet with your coffee is excellent too
Excellent food and service. Our first visit here but we'll definitely be back. Don't let the slightly odd location out you off - this a great place to enjoy a special dinner.
We had an excellent lunch the the staff attention was excellent. This venue is recommended. This was a return visit and did not disappoint. Well done to cooks and waiting staff.
Excellent food and service as always, monkfish melted in mouth and my wife loved her crab linguine as usual. Will definitely be back again soon.
First time I've eaten at the Fish People Cafe ( I've been to their shop a number of times) and it was a fabulous experience - from the service to the quality of food . I would highly recommend a visit !
Professional staff, very pleasant and helpful. Even offered to do a dish not on the menu due to my Mum's favourite, salmon, not being on the menu. Food as always was fabulous - served promptly but not rushed and service was just excellent. Love this little gem of a place - there is not a restaurant in the city that could beat this place...but could take lessons on quality food and customer care. Love it - GO.
Very friendly! Contemporary-traditional-elegant food. Just right :). The lady that served us was very happy to explain and recommend combinations. A unique, special and honest restaurant in an unusual location!
A two pal review. Intimate restaurant, although a bit 'out the way'. Food was very nice, but being two pals that like their food, portion size was on the small side. No bread to accompany our order of mussels which we found rather odd. Quite pricey but worth the visit. We ordered coffee at the end of the meal and when it was brought to the table we were told they needed the table as next customers were in. Which of course is fine, but tell us before we order coffee! Or at least at the start of meal when the next reservation is due. Felt rushed to drink up and get out. Would still go back, food was delicious.
The restaurant is really nice. Food was delicious and prepared with care. Waiters kind. The place is small but intimate in a nice way. Only thing we did not like is being charged £2 for 4 tiny slices of bread. Go the Spanish/Italian way and serve bread as a free starter!
As always, we enjoyed our lunch at the Fish People Café. We chose from the set menu; one of us had the smoked mackerel pate and said it was delicious while two of us had the Cullen Skink which was up to its usual high standard. I had the sea bream and it was very tasty and my friends enjoyed their haddock and salmon main courses. Service was friendly and we look forward to our next visit.
always EXCELLENT ,good food ,good staff, enjoyed it again. It is a bonus the underground stops at its door .There is also parking nearby, happy days.
We eat at Fish People Cafe fairly often and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and the service first class without being intrusive, allowing you to enjoy your meal in a relaxed atmosphere.
An amazing meal from starter to pudding. Would definitely advise other's to try the menu, portions good. We went on a Tuesday it was quiet.
Enjoyed my meal service was very quick staff very friendly food was lovely would recommend a visit good parking will be going back again soon
The food was good, the only problem is the server was too busy and it is difficult to get his attention when we need something.
Very good service and excellent fish dishes. Raw tuna starter was fab, as was the roast stone bass. Son had the cullen skink - loved it, and the scallops with caesar salad. The chocolate mousse cake with warm caramel sauce looked absolutely wonderful - but he refused to share! Very glad we managed to get a table at very short notice.
5th visit to FPC, great value as always. Specials boards always worth trying, plaice goujons with chilli jam and the tuna sashimi starters were great. Love the Albariño wine.
excellent small fish restaurant with young attentive staff. I had a tandoori sea bass which was most excellent. My 2 dining had the dish of the day which was sea trout and again their response was most excellent.
A couple of years since we had been back. Chose from the Al Carte Menu good choice. Excellent food and very friendly welcome and service.
Food was lovely but the service did not compliment that. To be fair, there were new staff on for the first time on Saturday and were clearly being trained, but that, in my opinion, had an adverse effect on normal service. It's an intimate restaurant, well situated for transport links. We will return
Good menu, really well cooked food and excellent service from waiting staff. Good choices for starters, but half portion of main dishes is also a good option as a "taster" menu.
Londoners on our second visit. Once again excellent food and friendly service.Londoners on our second visit. Once again excellent food and friendly service.Londoners on our second visit. Once again excellent food and friendly service.
