The food is excellent especially the Welsh produce, the staff are great and the location wonderful on a sunny day. Best of all we had a wonderful lunch there before enjoying a great Welsh victory over the English later that afternoon.

We went to this restaurant on Valentine’s Day, a little disappointing about the actual look of the restraunt, doesn’t really look like theres been much effort put in. No decoration. Food was lovely, me and my partner both had steaks. The staff were also polite and attentive.

Nice atmosphere and good menu selection. Enjoyed the extensive wine list coupled with additional off-the-list wines on offer on the blackboard. Homemade desserts options were superb!

A really okeasNt dining experience . The staff couldn’t be more helpful. The choice of food was impressive . The starter Starter and the main were delicious . The only disappointment was the cheese board which was served with white bread that was cold in the middle and the cheese was nothing special for £8 . The cheesecake was heaven !

Excellent service and atmosphere. Fabulous food. Small enough to be cosy but not too small to be claustrophobic. Staff were very attentive. Great menu choices and large lite meal choice if you don’t want a big meal. Thoroughly recommend

Superb meal with great wine and excellent service. Really nice atmosphere- a bit of a buzz of conversation without being too noisy to hear ourselves talk. Very enjoyable and relaxed evening- will definitely be back!

Turned up 10 minutes early and sat down straight away, the service was excellent and matched by the quality of the food. Mussels and crab to start, 2 steaks medium and rare were cooked perfectly. Sticky toffee and panettone and butter pudding a delight. Well done.

Lovely food, polite waiting staff, the background music was not in keeping with the ambience you’re clientele are expecting - I’m not sure many people want to eat their Sunday dinner singing along to Shaggy’s It Wasn’t Me!

So nice to arrive to find a large table set for two waiting for us. Small touch bet the tone for a lovely meal. Staff were attentive but relaxed. Food was exceptional, (scallops, lamb and poached pear) in presentation, taste, freshness and tamping hot. The atmosphere in the restaurant was so pleasant- from romantic to a family with a toddler (exceptionally well behaved and I am sure appreciating the homely atmosphere). The only comment we could think of - bigger napkins, everything else just right. Will return.

A very good restaurant with an excellent menu and very good cooking. My wife and I enjoyed an excellent lunch, served by a friendly, knowledgeable member of the staff. It wasn't too busy at lunch time on a grey November day and we came out of the restaurant feeling we had been well fed and well looked after

Atmosphere nice as is location. Service polite. roast was ok with good quality meet but veg and potatoes were solid and not roasted or cooked properly even though we asked for well cooked. starters were dreadful, over cooked tasteless squid and a “watermelon, black pepper and feta cheese salad” that was literally some cubes of watermelon and feta in a bowl. Did not stay for dessert. Sadly really disappointed as have had dinner here before and was very nice but that was a while ago

Beautiful restaurant on the promenade at Penarth. Delicious food served by delightful staff. This restaurant never disappoints us and always book it whenever we are staying in Cardiff. I had lovely Gower Mussels to start followed by pan fried Hake served with summer vegetables. My husband had the Pork Belly and my daughter and partner had shoulder of Welsh Lamb, all meals enjoyed by all. Highly recommend this little gem.

The restaurant was very nice, the view across the water in particular. The starters (shellfish) and fish dishes were very good. The vegetarian dish that we had (gnocchi) was disappointing however. The gnocchi was over cooked, the pinenuts were burnt and the dish was very dry. For £13, it seemed overpriced

Went went for Sunday lunch, the starters were lovely, however the Sunday lunch just was ok, as their was rather bland with no real flavour to the lamb or vegetables. Left feel a little disappointed as had been waiting to try the Sunday lunch there for a while.

It was really nice sitting on the shaded veranda for Sunday lunch. The food was good and the staff were friendly although we had to ask three times for our bill and ended up going inside and paying there instead.

No mayonnaise available. Starter was a bit small and uninspiring to look at (melon & feta) although tasted delicious. Frozen (or tinned) strawberries on the lemon posset dessert let that down but again, the posset was delicious. Great service, lovely location, needs a bit of finesse on plating.

Usually a really high standard, but not quite up there on this visit. Menu not quite as varied, and service slightly reduced but that could be explained by the festival taking part outside.
